Tabletop Hot Takes

Overview

Tabletop Hot Takes is a podcast about Tabletop Role Playing Games, the host's thoughts and feelings on them, and, of course, hot takes. Professors Aria and Funky explore TTRPG history, indie RPGs, advice, recommendations, and all kinds of other great things. Professor Aria was raised in the fire of TTRPGs having run and played

,
D&D 5E https://groupfinder.eu/library/dungeons-dragons-5e-2014
,

, and several indie RPGs. They have Game Mastered for almost ten years. They are trying to make their own system, an exploration of fantasy and how even small actions can result in lasting change for the world. Professor Funky has run TTRPGs for over 20 years and for far too many systems to count, though he will try. He is in the process of making his own system (Expedition Protocol) and publishing various adventures as well.

Actual Play
Actual Play Entertainment (APE) is an independent RPG network that is dedicated to bringing you quality, well produced, actual play podcasts. Our games have a combination of being fun, tense, and exciting, with a dash of improvised humor that will make you laugh-out-loud. You might even cry! Who knows? Games in the works: Alien the RPG, Traveler 2nd Edition, Dungeons and Dragons 5E, Delta Green, Call of Cthulhu (Pulp and 7th edition), and more. Campaigns Operation: Blackstar Set in 1997, this Delta Green campaign begins with a trip to the forgotten town of Groversville, Tennessee. What starts as a simple investigation unravels into alien abductions, government lies, and the Mi-Go’s terrifying experiments. A slow descent into paranoia, body horror, and conspiracy — where every choice risks pulling the agents deeper into the shadows of the Blackstar project. The Two-Headed Serpent A rip-roaring Pulp Cthulhu campaign of action, intrigue, and cosmic menace. The heroes work for the Caduceus Foundation, battling disease and disaster across the globe — but their missions hide a secret war against ancient serpent people bent on reclaiming the Earth. From lost jungles to frozen wastes, to the ruins of Mu itself, the adventure explodes with two-fisted action, pulpy science, and occult horrors beyond imagination. Welcome! I'm a giant, obsessed, D&D Nerd, running well over 300 games a year. In short, I play more D&D than is probably healthy. The goal here on the channel is to leverage that obsession, and your own talents, to help one another improve our games of dungeons and dragons, without ALL of us needing to sacrifice a full time job's worth of time on prep and gameplay. If that sounds like a good deal, I'd love to earn your sub! I'd be happy to start by answering ANY D&D question you might have, either in the comments section, on my discord server, or in a dedicated video. Just drop a comment and I'll do my best to help. Actual Play
I SEDUCE THE DRAGON is a bi-weekly actual play Dungeons & Dragons podcast, brilliantly produced and sound designed with the non-player in mind.  Hosted by a group of high-achieving women across wildly different fields, I SEDUCE THE DRAGON takes on tabletop gaming from a hilariously high femme perspective. About the show I Seduce The Dragon started as five professional women just trying to make friends and not lose our minds. A podcast? Nowhere on the vision board. But apparently, when you mix phenomenal chemistry with a bit of dice rolling, you get something very special.  Our DM, who’s also a professional editor and movie mixer, started chopping up our sessions into bite-sized 10-minute recaps to send to the players, because we’re sentimental nerds who like keepsakes. Then it hit us: these clips were hilarious. Like, painfully so. And what we’ve got—this brand of friendship, ruthless teasing, and charming, colorful storytelling—felt too good to keep to ourselves. No, we’re not actors (cue gasp), but you’ll still get top-tier roleplay because we’ve spent way too much time bringing these characters to life. We’re playing in the world of Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden, but you might not recognize much beyond a few familiar names and snow-smothered landmarks. We didn’t just toss those plotlines into the snowdrifts—we lit them on fire for warmth.  Prepare yourself for character-driven shenanigans careening through the tundra like a pack of rabid yetis on a sugar high. So pull up a chair and join us in Icewind Dale. Links youtube.com  - Youtube channel istdpod.com  - Official website patreon.com  - Patreon page
