Do you love Buffy but have *opinions* about some of the choices made? Would you like a chance to re-write the Hellmouth? Then this is the game for you! Yes, I know there is a Buffy-specific rpg. But I like Monster of the Week's ease of play and flexibility better. If you've never played MotW, it's incredibly easy to learn. There's tons of theater of mind, role-playing opportunities, and the players (called "hunters") get a lot of say so in the story. CHARACTERS Players may choose to play a canon character or create their own. Buffy, Xander, Willow, Giles, Cordelia, Oz, Jenny Calendar, and Amy have all been introduced and played. Angel has too, but there are special circumstances around Angel atm. Players may also choose to change characters from session to session. You can play Giles one session and then Willow the next. Having different players play the canon characters each session creates a really unique story and interpretation. You are also welcome to create your own unique character. The last time I did this, we had an OC as the Bronze bartender and this time around we have a vampire hunter named William with a very interesting backstory. PLAY This game is designed for Buffy fans to "go nuts". Headcanons, bizarre theories, ships, whatever you've always been itching to explore are on the table. There will be a general foundation to jump off of each session, and there will be season arcs and Big Bads. All the traditional things we love about Buffy will be present. Locations are the same: we have the high school/library, Buffy's house, the Bronze, the graveyard, the factory the bad guys always love, and downtown Sunnydale as our main locations. We will be playing mostly on Roll20/Discord. In my experience, Roll20's video/audio acts up often on my end, and the game runs a lot more smoothly when I've turned off my camera and mic there and turned it on on Discord. I'm expecting each session to be about 2-3 hours long, give or take. PLAYERS Ideally, I would like to have about 6-10 people interested in playing who can play as many sessions as they'd like. Teenage friends/family—(players)—had spent months secretly building Prime: a hulking, mismatched tank pieced together from junkyard scrap. Armed with homemade smoke and incendiary launchers, jury-rigged drones, and a few scavenged fire axes, she was ugly, loud, and theirs. The group had been gifted with a unique and fantastic ability, Clan Hall.  Before them appeared a simple blue screen with certain details and tabs on it.  This ability registered them as elders and gave them access to certain abilities and capabilities. This included quests that earned them clan points, which at the moment didn't have much use except for fueling an ability discovered in the tab named Portal. Most of the quests were related to the construction of the tank and preparation for opening a portal, the rules seemed straight forward.  An opened portal would only last 15 seconds opened, it would open to a random world, and any previously visited world would be registered and could be revisited. That Friday, the last day of school, they decided to go through and open the portal for the first time.

A place mixing magic and technology, the Xedian continent is primarily ruled by the Asosallian Empire headed by Emperor Sata Ralda IV. It is an expansionistic Empire that has set its sights on the continent to the South and region to the East of the Empire, but has been held off by war and political tension respectively. The Empire views the people to the East of its borders as allies, but tension is high, while people found elsewhere in the world are to be brought under the power of Emperor Ralda himself. This campaign is set for a party of four to six adventurers and has a small focus on exploration and survival, while the grander plot focuses on gaining knowledge and accumulating resources to survive a harsh nation. At the beginning of the campaign, the players will find themselves arrested for crimes they didn’t (or did?) commit, being brought across the Nora River to the town of Bieyron to the East. The reconstruction efforts have pushed territory lines not just for the gangs but the hunting grounds of things normally unseen. The poser gang modeling themselves as werewolves might not be posing. The rumors about that alligator in the sewer are only half right, its actually a whole trade city. And if some people are reporting seeing doorways to unspeakable worlds down alleyways maybe thats why Kiroshi is pushing their update to the latest optics firmware so harshly. A vibrant, high-fantasy realm filled with magic, celebration, and possibility. Cultures blend, wonders are commonplace, and you have the potential to be whoever you wish. Here’s the twist: You’ll be playing two versions of your character—one in each world. Hi I’m a 47-year-old Israeli GM who’s been running a campaign for a several years, but tired of missing his weekly fix due to cancellations. Welcome to Fulcre, a land adjacent to Faerun. Created long ago by Travenstry the only god of this plane, it is a lush land filled with life, laughter, and love. Or was.... Travenstry hadn't been recorded to walk amonst his creations in thousands of years until 5 years ago he stepped down from his perch in the clouds. No one knows why he stepped down but as soon as he landed on Fulcre soil he instantly withered, shriveled up, and died in a puff of ash and smoke. Now, as a result, magic is dying and clerics and paladins of Trav have lost their abilties. Not yet completely magic in all its forms are chaotic and destabilizing. This has caused the once peaceful kingdoms to go to war over artifacts and last vestiges of magical power. Hundreds of thousands have died in these wars and kingdoms have fallen in only the first 2 years of this terrible event. Now the land is in shambles and 4 villagers from a town called Gastel, on the fringes of the map have decided to set out and see or do what they can in this wild world on the brink of destruction. Heya, my name is Emorej and i'm an aspiring DM. I have done a couple oneshots that were supposed to be campaigns but due to scheduling errors or trouble players I have yet to really roll out a long term campaign and instead have been stockpiling ideas and events in the world of Fulcre for a few years now. I try to get this off the ground at least once a year. Here's hoping this is the one. As i said I'm a newer DM. My style is improvised and for the most part theatre of the mind. I do not enjoy the crunchiness of having to stick to rules as cemented. Rule of cool or creativity is my golden rule. I also have an iron clad golden rule that most should abide by. Treat others with the repect and curteousy you wish to be treated with. In this campaign back up characters are encouraged for those with a hankering for combat. The world is low to no magic and as a result healing is quite difficult. With the exceptions of potions and artifacts(extremely hard to come by) or magic users that have found creative ways to improvise healing or someone extraordinarily gifted in the art of medicine and bodily health, long or short resting are the only ways one might heal. If you engage in combat knowing this you risk almost certain death. On the topic of magic, magical classes are still available however I have a magic consequence table similar to wild magic tables that have anywhere from disatrous, to wonderful, to wacky consequences on it and it is skewed towards disastrous as magic becomes more unpredictable with every passing year and with lessening effects.  Alost every situation I throw at you has 2-3 solutions or ways to go about for absolute certainty. However I encourage and will be very happy if I am surprised and you find a creativite or cool way around my encounters. As this is theatre of the mind it also pays to always ask questions if your unsure of the scene and ake notes on anything you think may be important or anything I may tell you is very important. Games will be held weekly at 7pm est Mondays or Tuesdays. I have both days completely open and will cement the exact day depending on the availability of players but 7pm is non-negotiable. Explore ancient dungeons in an old world. There are rumors that many treasures and even ancient artifacts found deep below the earth. The tunnels and dungeons maze throughout the underground - perhaps remnants of a long forgotten civilization. The stories of this place are wild and fantastical - a large contrast from the monotony and ordinary struggles of the world above. One thing in the stories is consistent - people call this place "The Deep". I am starting an old school OSR game using OD&D. I am using a slightly customized version of the Chainmail combat system to run the game. So far, the combat has felt fun while also being lethal and tactical. I'm planning on using Chainmail mass-combat rules for overland travel if there are enough troops on both sides. There is no need to know the rules to have fun with it, and I'm available to help create characters as well. We have ran a few sessions so far - the players could definitely use some help in the dungeon as there have been a few deaths so far. It is definitely a dangerous game, but should be a lot of fun! With a gleaming bald scalp, a rotund body, and a tiny, beady eyes, he's looks like a very stereotypical wealthy man. He's on a business trip and decided to stop in this town for the night, the night before the train broke down. The campaign is Only War, set in a homebrew sector with the idea of Recongregationist ideals being applied in a whole sector in secret. The jist is that you as players are charged with a trench section, to upgrade, repair and staff, using the pathfinder rooms and teams system. You get 5 weeks in between every increasingly difficult battles and must manage supply demands, orders from the regiment commanders and your own desires for growth and equipment. You will fight across 4 planets, each with a new enemy army to compete against. I use a bit of homebrew, mostly around mass combat rules but I have created a few psyker powers, weapons and talents. I tend to let me players do what they like, with immanent threat of death based on your own decision making. However I believe the game should be fun, I wont treat you unfairly and if I think there is a danger your character would feel or see but you as a player don't, I will make it known. I have ran these systems for a long time, so don't be afraid to ask questions or be afraid as a new player. Edit: Weekly game, Weds 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. EST Lost Souls is an on-going high fantasy campaign. We just passed our 4 year anniversary. The PCs (fighter, bard, sorc/warlock) are level 13 about to hit 14, so I'll probably hold off on actually introducing a new character until they hit 14. But that should be soon, within the next couple of weeks I'm guessing. Game is meant to be long term (will go to level 20+), open sandbox, very non-linear so there's no single BBEG or single unifying quest line. The group is constantly pulled in a hundred different directions depending on their personal interests/goals, and often find themselves in moral gray areas where they're trying to navigate through no-win situations and/or making deals with NPCs they might not particularly get along with. The biggest obstacle for adding a new character is going to be the sheer amount of story you'll need to catch up with. There's probably 150+ sessions of story, which can be daunting for a new player. And this game is very story heavy & dependent.  Tone of the game leans more towards serious storylines & resource management. There's plenty of joking around & laughing, but joke characters, pun characters, caricatures, etc don't tend to fit in well. In terms of actual game play, the pacing varies. Sometimes we spend a couple months IRL going through a day or two in game with lots of combats and micro play. Sometimes we go many sessions without combat and going through several weeks in game doing roleplay, resource management (including businesses, finances, etc), puzzles, etc.  So ideally you should enjoy all aspects of the game and be fine with going stretches without combat. Combat also varies between traditional round-by-round, combat-map focused to looser, theater of the mind that isn't hampered by traditional approach. So it will also help to be comfortable being flexible with how you approach a scene. We used Discord for VC, and Roll20 for VTT. Oh, and sometimes if a player is going to miss a week for a key part of the story we take a break from DnD for the week and play a one-shot in a different system. So more flexibility there. Player builds are limited to anything official published by WoTC. We don't use third party or homebrew stuff (for my sanity as the GM). Hello! First time posting, I am the DM for a group of four that have been playing since December 2017 (in-person) in southwestern Maine. One of our members has stepped away from the game, leaving us with 3 players at the table. While that is a fine size we do enjoy the dynamic with four player characters - and with the recent departure the table feels a bit empty! It is a home brewed world, the current campaign started on New Year’s Day January 2025. The campaign before that was our only other campaign, which ran about 7 years. The players are currently level 8, and they are on a tall ship in a campaign in which they are sailing around the pangaean continent and battling evil, pirates, spending lots of time in coastal cities on shore leave getting into trouble and all of that great stuff. We play with the 5e 2014 rules and our sessions are every Tuesday night, running from 7pm to usually around 11-12, rarely running longer than that. To be honest we are quite spoiled in that we rarely have a group member absent, and would be looking for somebody who wants to commit to being there in person every week. I don’t have a lot of experience with seeing other groups play, but I would describe us as fairly role play heavy - lots of time spent between players having conversations in character with each other and NPCs. We lean into the “yes, and” style as much as people are comfortable with. We are a mature group, most of us in our 40s. After our player exit there will be two women and two men at the table, if that’s important to know. We are an upbeat group, we don’t delve into stuff that makes people uncomfortable, and we care a lot about our little world and the time we spend together. Every other Saturday 6PM Est. GMT -04:00 We’re currently playing Emerald Spire, but it has been heavily rewritten to fit my custom campaign world. I run story-focused games, so the adventure has been expanded quite a bit to support that. The party has only explored the first three levels so far and is currently level 5. We play using Foundry and Discord, and we take full advantage of Foundry’s features. From time to time we also mix things up and play a different system for a session or two, just to refresh the creative juices. I’m looking for players with some Pathfinder experience. Foundry experience is a plus but not required. You do need to be able to use Discord for voice. We are not a highly optimized group, so if your main goal is testing ultra-tuned mechanical builds, this probably isn’t the right table. I prefer characters with story, personality, and purpose over characters designed to one-shot dragons. That may not be everyone’s style, but it’s the kind of game I enjoy running. Be prepared to do a little reading on house rules (not many), the gods of the setting, and the available classes and races.

It is the most technologically advanced city in the known world. Currently, its population and infrastructure are being reworked due to a rather large influx of refugees from the Draconian War, a war in which most of Draclois became rubble caused by the murder of their leader and the most knowledgeable keeper of peace, the Last Gold Dragon, and her Clutch being all but smashed.No one won this war everyone lost yet the Renthalian Empire was closet to victory. All this resulted in the Crownspire refugee and veteran crisis still going on 5 years after the war ended, and yet the people of Crownspire and Khelar have other threats they are unaware of whilst they argue about infrastructure and refugees and workers' rights and citizenship. Something lurks in the deep; the children have begun to sing about it, and no one knows how they know or why. Important notes on Crownspire: Goes down rather than out and is split between the Overspire and the Underspire. Typically the  Underspire is more frontier slum-like and is predominantly underground, however, this is not the case everywhere. Just like the Overspire citizens usually are more wealthy than the Underspire, they are exceptions. Hello everyone! We are a group of four looking for a DM for a new campaign. We have been playing D&D together for about four years at this point and would like to start up a second campaign as one of the campaigns we are in together recently ended. We would like the campaign to be weekly, preferably on the weekend at a set time (we usually have campaigns around 6 PM CET), but we are usually flexible when it comes to sessions if life happens and the session needs to be rescheduled. As for the campaign it is really up to you as the DM. The only wishes we have are the following: we want to play D&D 5E 2024, and not an evil campaign. We would also prefer a more traditional D&D setting, either set in Faerun or a world similar to it. A homebrew world is completely fine. We would like to start the campaign at a low level (ideally level 3) and keep playing until we reach higher levels of play. We would prefer the campaign to have a story and a common goal, so not like a directionless sandbox campaign. We tend to follow the threads you lay out as a DM, meaning we do not usually decide to do something completely different than what you have prepared as a DM. As for more personal requirements: - we would like you to be at least 25 years old - somewhat experienced in DMing - fluent in English - at a stable enough point in your life where you could see yourself DMing a long campaign consistently As for us - we are all from different nationalities so where you are from does not matter. All of us are male and we are all adults (we do not care if you are male or female). We can also be a bit blunt at times, but that being said we all have thick skin and are not easily offended. We have no problem discussing any points of tension without being upset! We tend to like to play things by the rules, but homebrew rules are fine as long as they have been established before being applied. We like all aspects of D&D - roleplaying, combat, exploration and so on. We tend to know our characters very well, both from a mechanical and roleplay point of view. When they finally succumb, they can’t be raised—and neither can anyone else, regardless of whether they’ve ever received that miracle in the past. The cause for the curse is rumored to be a powerful necromantic artifact, which is located somewhere in Chult, a mysterious peninsula far to the south, ringed with mountains and choked with rainforests. Hello! I'm looking to form a new weekly, long-term group of five to six players on Thursday evenings. The game would start at 19:30 (GMT+2) each Thursday and end at 23:00. Just as it says in the title of this post, I've decided to run the pre-made campaign Tomb of Annihilation, using (as one might expect) the 5th edition of Dungeons & Dragons. My plan, however, isn't necessarily to keep running 5e D&D forever. If I manage to find a group I’d like to keep playing with after this campaign, I hope we’ll be open to trying other systems as well. What I'm looking for in potential players: - A close enough time zone to my own, and a schedule that allows for regular participation in the game. - Motivation and commitment to possibly establishing a long-term group. - Active participation in the game. - Basic social skills and human decency. - Comfortably intelligible English. - Minimal exposure to this campaign. - A decent microphone. - 18+ years of age. New players are more than welcome (experience isn't on the list of requirements), as are those who are more experienced. Tomb of Annihilation is a deadly jungle and dungeon-crawling adventure. The lands of Chult are teeming with danger, from active threats such as dinosaurs and the undead to more common hazards such as disease and dehydration. Character death is a very real possibility, and players should be ready for it. A large part of this campaign is focused on survival and exploration, and I intend to lean heavily into those aspects. My goal won't be to kill your characters, but I won't be hand-holding them either. As is the case with all my games of 5th ed D&D, I have certain limitations when it comes to character creation. Sourcebooks will mostly be limited to everything between the PHB and Xanathar's, with material from later books implemented on a case-by-case basis. Character races are limited at the start, with some options becoming available later in the campaign. Multiclassing is limited and will require narrative justification. If you are someone who is heavily into "builds," you'll likely be disappointed. I like to play into the actual in-world implications of things like character classes, and I do not treat them purely as mechanics to be reflavored as seen fit. I'd describe myself as a very neutral DM. I don't fudge my dice, and I don't like to make decisions based on what would make a good story. Instead, I aim to portray the world based on what would make the most sense. I believe that the "story" of the game is something that emerges from the gameplay. I'm also more interested in what your characters are actually doing at any given moment rather than just what's on the paper. I don't want to hear "Can I roll Persuasion/Perception?", I want to hear what your character is actually saying to the guard or how they are searching the room.
