Curse of Strahd: The Devil Ascendant

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
Horror
The game leans into fear, tension and dark themes.
The mists are calling. Will you answer? There is a land where the sun has forgotten how to shine, where the dead seldom rest, and where every whispered prayer may be answered by something far worse than the gods. Welcome to Barovia. Beyond the choking mists, ancient evils stir. The villagers bar their doors against the night, wolves stalk the forgotten roads, and somewhere high above it all, a dark lord watches from his castle. But something is changing. Old prophecies are stirring. Strange signs mark the heavens. And the threads of fate are being drawn tighter around those unfortunate enough to wander into this cursed domain. In Barovia, death is not always the end. Sometimes, it is merely the beginning. Curse of Strahd: The Devil Ascendant is a reimagined journey into Ravenloft, weaving classic gothic horror, psychological terror, dark mysteries, and unexpected twists into a campaign where your choices carry consequences—and not every monster is what it seems. Whether you are a veteran of Ravenloft or entering the mists for the very first time, do not expect the familiar to remain familiar. CAMPAIGN DETAILS System: D&D 5E (2014 Rules) When: Sundays, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM Eastern (GMT-4) Where: Roll20 & Discord Session Length: 4 hours Cost: $25 CDN per session (Reduced to $10 CDN until January 1st, 2027) The mists have opened. A place awaits you at the table. Come willingly, adventurer. Barovia has never needed an invitation to claim its guests. After all, the Devil knows your name. Will you live long enough to learn his?

Game Style This is to be a rather unusual run through Curse of Strahd, as some of the content been changed along with small bits of the greater plot. Quite a bit of content from previous editions of Ravenloft, along with new content, has been added in hopes of creating a new experience for newcomers and veterans alike. About the adventure It was a quiet day when a desperate messenger arrived to the great city Ravenport carrying a most distressing message: The nearby lumber town of Halzen has been overtaken by a mysterious mist, any who enter it never to be seen again. The townsfolk put together all the money and resources they had to send an envoy requesting aid, for dark things stalk the nights and more and more of the inhabitants disappear come morning, the sun ever dimmer. The Black Hound's Consort Mercenary Guild has put out an official bounty of 500 units of sterling silver for any that may solve this mystery, but you may find that gold would not have been enough for what you found yourselves against. LGBTQ+ inclusive. Greek-myth campaign for Daggerheart

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
"Five years ago, a thousand ships answered Agamemnon's call and departed Greece to bring about Ilium's ruin. The greatest heroes, the mightiest weapons, and the most mythical stories are somewhere else.  You are among who remains.  I am Homer, and I will sing of you, amongst Other Names." Set in a fabled Age of Rhapsody — paying homage to the Bronze Age, Greek tragedy and comedy, and classical myth — Echoes of Fate is a homebrew Campaign Frame for Daggerheart exploring lies and prophecies, the making of myths, and what it costs to break destiny. You are not the hero the epic was written for. No prophecy names you. No Muse has claimed your story...yet. So what do you make of a life the songs haven't told yet? If you are a fan of myth retellings such as EPIC: the Musical, A Thousand Ships, The Song of Achilles, come sit by the fire. Some notes on the setting: •  The gods are present but distracted — drawing their eye may bring you greatness, or ruin. Or maybe you'll be drawn to the Mysteries instead? •  No prophecy protects you: your choices ripple outward, and could alter canon myths and even the course of the war itself. •  All stories are welcome, this table is LGBTQ+ friendly. •  New to tabletop, Daggerheart, or Greek myth? This table is beginner-friendly. And no Classics degree required, just curiosity. Sessions will be paid through StartPlaying.com, at 25$ per session. About me: - I've been a Dungeon Master for almost 8 years and I have plenty of experience in guiding new players. I prefer Theater of the Mind with minimal VTT support. - Your story will matter and I love a long, narrative background I can weave into the main story. - I do character voices!  - I also do character artworks :D Safety tools: Session 0, Lines and Veils, Consent checklist and X cards. I prefer to be honest in advance: Echoes of Fate draws from real life in addition to myth. Slavery was present in Ancient Greece, as was mysogyny, war and violence. You will be able to challenge these in-game through your character, or ask me to avoid mentioning them and I will do my best to do so.
