Description

Hello friends and neighbors. I'm here because I'm recruiting for a brand new, long-running low-to-high fantasy adventure in an original setting. Players will take the role of fledgling adventurers, normal, everyday people called by circumstance or wanderlust to embark upon the journey of a lifetime. They'll cross through strange lands, become embroiled in quests of earth-shaking importance, meet strange and wondrous people and most of all, become who they were meant to be. Think Frieren, Witch Hat Atelier, Name of the Wind, or the video game Wildermyth if you want an idea of the aesthetic inspirations. The story will begin in the sleepy town of Drecorshire, a rustic village out in the woods that's about to have a very, very strange visitor pass through. As for where it'll go from there... well, you don't want me to spoil the surprise! A bit about myself: I'm 28 years old, he/him, and I'm an author and game writer with over a decade of DM experience, most of it online. I've run a variety of systems, from good old 5e to Pathfinder to WoD to PTBA to Godbound to Cain to Blades in the Dark and so on. I love storytelling and worldbuilding and collaborating with players to tell long, emotional and intensive stories that surprise and delight us all. For this game, we'll be running Legend in the Mist, a fiction-first fantasy roleplaying game that focuses on the use of Tags to allow players to define their characters and capabilities. This system allows for really robust and detailed character customization and I'm so excited to see what people come up with it! If you've never played it before, that's totally fine. We'll all learn together. We'll be using Roll20 for rolls and character sheets, and discord for voice chat. Rules and Other Things in a Handy Itemized List: We will be meeting weekly at 8pm EST on Tuesdays, and will usually be playing for about 2 and a half to three hours. This is, unfortunately, non-negotiable. If one player is missing from a session, we will play anyway. If two or more are missing, we cancel for that week. Normally I operate on a three-strike rule for no-call no shows, but I reserve the right to give people the boot earlier than that if there's a pattern of disrespect for the other players' time. I run long games that meet consistently, and I'm able to do that because I'm kind of ruthless about this stuff. All player characters will start the game as more or less ordinary humans, though there's a little wiggle room for 'human with some innate mystical characteristics' if you want. If you find that limiting, I understand, but I would also offer for your consideration that all the most interesting people I've ever met are humans, and you are too. Player characters will begin the campaign as fairly mundane people, not seasoned warriors or adventurers - think farm boys, amateur alchemists, petty conjurers, hedge squires, good women of the woods, noble's daughters run away in search of adventure, that sort of thing. That's not to say they can't be older or have seen a thing or two, only that they ought to have room to grow. More information about the world will be forthcoming, but for now you can consider it to be a very hazy, vibes-based big tent fantasy setting with quite a lot in it. I love incorporating player ideas into my worldbuilding, so as you consider your character, brainstorm away! Be creative! (Within the bounds of the rules above established, natch.) I'm really nice. That's not really a rule, I just wanted to get it in there, I pride myself on being a very chill, calm and approachable person. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask, I will happily field them. This campaign is a safe space for people of all races and identities. There will be a zero tolerance policy for racism, homophobia, transphobia or bigotry of any kind. I have a strict no generative AI policy. Not for art or writing or anything. Be excellent to each other. Party on, dudes. Got all that? Good! If you're interested in coming with me on an adventure, please throw an application here in the Roll20, or message it to me here. Log in to view If you have any questions, don't hesitate! "Despite everything, it's still you." - Undertale

"They told us the ancient machines we dug out of the earth would protect us. They were wrong. The sky bled red, the earth shook, and in a single night, the kingdom fell. We don't know if the King survived, and we don't know where the Champions are. All we know is that the castle is wrapped in a shroud of red malice, and the monsters are coming. Weeks ago, Central Hyrule was a bustling kingdom; today, it is a graveyard of smoking stone and rogue mechanical stalkers that hunt anything that moves." The rumors flying between the survival camps are terrifying. They say the Chosen Hero fell defending the retreating forces. They say Princess Zelda is still alive inside the castle, holding back the purple storm with nothing but her bare hands and a fading prayer, but no one knows how long she can last. The prophecies failed, and the grand armies are gone. No legendary knight is coming to save your village. If Hyrule is going to survive the winter, it’s up to the people left standing—the blacksmiths, the scouts, the squires, and the outcasts. Grab your pack. Draw your steel. The smoke is rising on the horizon, and the howling of Bokoblins grows louder with every sunset. You have a rusty sword, a hunter's bow, or perhaps just the heavy hammer from your family forge. But you are still here, standing on the edge of the wild, and the world cannot wait for a miracle. Who will you become? When the Blood Moon rises, and the monsters knock at your door, will you fade into the mist, or will you stand and carve out a new legend? Hyrule is dying. Get on your feet, pack your rations, and look to the horizon. The world is yours to save. More information on Startplaying.

The world of Phelun is an old one that has seen many conflicts throughout its history. While times seem peaceful, beneath the surface there are whisperings of the Dragon Queen stirring within her prison, strange events occurring upon the continent of Ines, and adventure awaiting upon the lost continent of Asoris. This is an 18+ only server that is a mix of go at your own pace pbp and west marches living world elements.  https://discord.gg/X8dFsNrjBw This is a new Server that has been worked on by one DM for 3 months. It currently features the following:     PbP forums for those who prefer slower RPs.     Living world channels where characters can explore the lands or meet one another in real time in the pub.     DM run Tables. (We are looking for more DMs to help run tables)     Mining, gathering, fishing, and exploration through Avrae commands (commands are ready, but random tables need to be filled out more for variety).     Random in game daily events (not tied to irl days, and still being worked on).     Market to buy items.     Guilds (will need leaders).     Job command to earn coin and a living world channel to RP the work in. (currently being reworked)     Custom Drinking command for the pub.     Player housing.
