Description

Hey all! I'm in the early stages of building a Mass Effect campaign using the Genesys RPG system, and I want to see if there's enough interest before I go all in. The setting: The 2170s, about a decade before the first game. Nobody knows about the looming danger that the Reapers will bring yet, so you'll be navigating a galaxy set in its ways and slow to change. The style: Sandbox style. I'm building a detailed galaxy full of factions and characters (some known, some custom) with their own goals, then letting you loose in it. Your crew gets a ship, and where you go from there is up to you. Why Genesys/About Me: Genesys's dice system gives you more than just a pass or fail, so every roll can help write the story. That fits how I like to run games, since I treat the whole thing as a cooperative storytelling adventure. I've never run Genesys before, but I have experience running 5e and a few 2d20 systems as a GM. I'm completely newbie friendly and don't mind explaining mechanics and learning on the fly. I like weaving character backgrounds into the story whenever possible, and I'm happy to help players build hooks into their backgrounds if they want a hand. Characters: Using Genesys makes choosing a character fairly straightforward. We can match ME species and classes to different Genesys archetypes and roles fairly easily. The main thing I am hoping for is thourough character concepts. I like the characters in games I run to have well defined motivations and fears. Note, a complete history of your character is not necessary. I just want every player to have a strong idea of how and why their character would react to any given situation by fleshing out their foundational personalities. It helps with roleplay and with player investment in the game. Regardless, you don't have to have your character in mind right this moment. I just want you to know what to expect at session 0. Starting points: I have a handful of example starts (Spectre candidates, mercenaries, freighter crews, relic hunters, corporate whistleblowers, and more), but I'm also open to the group building its own. What I'm looking for: 2 or 3 players who want a cooperative storytelling experience rather than a GM-versus-players game. I see my job as giving you a framework to tell a story in. I default to the rules, but if bending or breaking them creates a more memorable moment, I'll do it.

Cooperative, story-first sandbox GM. Go anywhere; the world reacts. Story over self-preservation, conflict that builds bonds, never out to kill PCs. Everyone having fun comes first. I play for memories we’ll talk about for decades.

Hello perspective player! I've set up a Living World discord server with a unique world. Its very Rules-lite, RP being custom (heavily taking from Salvage Union) and Steel Rift for most combat. It is Play-By-Post, with me handling the map and rulings so that it can be time-zone and time-available agnostic! (Also feel free to send pics of physical minis if you want to use/display them! The system is mini-agnostic for anyone interested in playing Steel Rift locally.) There are several changes now that I have made so that its easier to manage as a PbP game (inches to Hex Tiles), as well as things that give more options to players. You wont need to buy a copy of the rules, as I have them available on the server. Advanced Rules will be added over time, both to not overwhelm players but also so I can cherry pick what works with the League and missions that I will present players with (and to a lesser extent the flimsy lore I have for this game-world). Players will be a General Purpose Administrator/Logistics A.I. (aka ʒenais), usually manufactured and purchased by Militaries and MegaCorps for admin work on large vessels and in company-cities. In this case though, the players have been purchased by an Underboss of a Redlight planet. They'll be placed in control of the crime faction's Blood Sport Assets in the burgeoning, new Mecha Coliseums popping up all around the seedy ecumenopolis. You'll put together HE-Vs and teams and enter them into Bouts, Tournaments, Leagues, etc. Obtain purses and prizes from wins, bet on other player's matches for side profit, and go Rogue to get out from under the crime boss's thumb! Eventually players will be able to accept contracts off world for MegaCorps and Sovereignties (ala BattleTech style) and will be able to flex more of the mission types and advanced rules over time. I'm running it via a purpose made Discord server and using Tabletop Sim purely so the maps and models will be a bit more exciting than a 2d, top-town grid. There is currently only 1 mechanical roll tied to Roleplay itself (subject to change depending on what players decide to get up to). You can always hit me with ideas and things you'd like to see that we can work together to make happen! If anyone is interested feel free to DM me and ask any questions you might have! A final note: The game is tagged as 18+, please respect that. And if any player has a concern about anything (including regarding me) please feel empowered to bring it to my attention so it can be resolved!

One world and a big pool of players, but no fixed party - whoever signs up that week is who plays.
LGBTQ+ friendly
The table is openly welcoming to LGBTQ+ players.
The world of Phelun is an old one that has seen many conflicts throughout its history. While times seem peaceful, beneath the surface there are whisperings of the Dragon Queen stirring within her prison, strange events occurring upon the continent of Ines, and adventure awaiting upon the lost continent of Asoris. This is an 18+ only server that is a mix of go at your own pace pbp and west marches living world elements.  https://discord.gg/X8dFsNrjBw This is a new Server that has been worked on by one DM for 3 months. It currently features the following:     PbP forums for those who prefer slower RPs.     Living world channels where characters can explore the lands or meet one another in real time in the pub.     DM run Tables. (We are looking for more DMs to help run tables)     Mining, gathering, fishing, and exploration through Avrae commands (commands are ready, but random tables need to be filled out more for variety).     Random in game daily events (not tied to irl days, and still being worked on).     Market to buy items.     Guilds (will need leaders).     Job command to earn coin and a living world channel to RP the work in. (currently being reworked)     Custom Drinking command for the pub.     Player housing.

It's a century into the superhuman future. Superheroes, once beloved celebrities, are now viewed with skepticism after their involvement in a series of disastrous wars. Supervillains have evolved from counterculture punks to organized criminals to semi-legitimate revolutionaries. And then there's you. You're an altered superhuman with physics-defying powers, you were rescued by your new patron when you got into deep trouble, and now you're a member of a vigilante organization that operates out of a fantastical train that can hop between nations and universes with ease. Travel the world. Use your powers for (some definition of) good at the behest of your boss and your paying clients. Fight scheming supervillains and corrupt superheroes alike. Recruit new allies with and without powers, in high and low places. And maybe commit a few crimes, just to help keep the lights on. The GM: Hi! I'm Julian (he/him), a 27-year-old forever GM in Miami looking for 3-5 players to start a superhero campaign in a universe of my own making! The System: This game will run off of a custom system I created using the Cortex Prime toolkit. Cortex Prime is a narrative-focused system with lots of customization and rewards for creative play, and I've used its rules to create a fast-paced superhero hack. It's partly inspired by the old Marvel Heroic Roleplaying TTRPG. The Characters: Create your character from the ground up as you see fit. Their Disctinctions, Values, and Specialties define them as a human, and their Powers make them superhuman. You have limitless possibilities for superpowers: we're talking people who wield origami weapons, inventors with robot armies, villains with transforming umbrella weapons, teens armed with playing card decks that have devastating effects, psychics that give people amnesia, people who summon manifestations of the zodiac signs, guys that punch things really hard if that's what you want -- the sky's the limit. If you're an adult who treats other human beings with respect and dignity and you can make it to in-person games in Miami every other week, apply today -- I'd love to have you on board! If you have questions, feel free to message me here. Day of the week and specific game store location to be determined once we've got players.
