The old man leaned back in his rocker, wood creaking slow beneath him.
He tipped his hat just enough to look at you proper—one eye catching the porch light.
“You think you know the shape of the world…”
He lets that sit a moment.
“Think it’s all roads and towns, lines on a map. Edges that make sense.”
A faint smile tugs at his mouth. Not kind. Not unkind. Just… tired.
“Then one day you step off the edge of it. Not far—just enough.”
He rocks once. Slow.
“And that’s when it hits you…”
He taps the side of his head.
“The shape you knew?”
A quiet breath.
“That was the lie.”
The night hums around him—crickets, wind through the trees.
“Sixty years I’ve been on this earth. I’ve heard dead men speak names they shouldn’t know.”
He looks past you now. Like he’s remembering something he’d rather not.
“Seen the woods swallow folks whole… without so much as a footprint left behind.”
A long pause.
Then, softer:
“Ain’t nothin’ what it seems.”
The rocker creaks again.
“Question is…”
His eyes find yours.
“…what’re you gonna do when it starts noticing you?”
Story-focused DM + 1 player looking to build a small, roleplay-heavy group for a cinematic Hunter: The Reckoning chronicle.
This game begins grounded—small towns, backroads, and things that don’t quite add up—and gradually expands into something stranger and more unsettling. Expect a mix of investigation, moral choices, and slow-burn tension rather than constant combat.
The story will unfold across different regions of the U.S., starting in Appalachia and moving outward as connections between events begin to surface. What starts as isolated incidents may not be as disconnected as they seem.
As a storyteller DM, I focus on immersion, pacing, and giving players space to shape the narrative. Your characters matter, your choices matter, and the world will respond.
Looking for players who enjoy roleplay, atmosphere, and collaborative storytelling. New or experienced welcome.
If interested, tell me a bit about the kind of character you’d like to play, or the kinds of moments you enjoy most in a game.
