Description

CROSS POSTED FROM:  Log in to view __ The number of gods and goddesses that exist across our diverse histories are as timeless and innumerable as the stars themselves. Even at the pinnacle of godhood however, petty squabbles over power and status frequently break out due to pride and boredom in equal measure. Governing their respective aspects and starting occasional conflicts on the mortal plane was all well and good, but little seemed to stir any true interest from their immortal thrones. Thus, the Inheritor Trials were created. It was both a thrilling spectator sport to look forward to and a means to decide which gods produced the most powerful offspring. A satisfying proxy war most found preferable to the effort and consequential destruction direct conflict would cause. Every century, the gods extend an invitation to all of their immediate descendants, beckoning them to participate so that they may gain ‘equal’ glory and prestige. While the trials are notorious for being dangerous and foul play is not uncommon, for most the reward promised to the victors far outweighs the risks: A boon from their divine progenitor. More than a mere favor, any boon granted to a demi-god is made before all of the gods witness to the event - meaning the god is honor bound to fulfill the request lest they face the judgement of their divine peers. Perhaps you wish to use this boon to cement yourself as your divine parent’s favorite after years of neglect? Perhaps you don’t care for their favor in the slightest, but require their power to help you with a problem you can’t solve on your own? Or, perhaps you simply wish to participate in the Trials to test your own mettle against your demi-god peers? Whatever the case, the day of the Inheritor Trials has arrived, and you must take your fate into your own hands. ~~~~ LOGISTICS: TWO SHOT* (maybe three depending on pacing, we’re gonna call it 2) September 21-24 (TBD) and October 2nd, 5-9PST over Discord on Roll20 Level 11, all official and partnered content on dndbeyond good with me. I'm comfortable running 2014 or 2024, I'll go majority preference. Thoughtful, serious backstories are highly encouraged. You may be the half mortal half godly offspring of any mythos. ex: Zeus, Abunis, Selune (forgotten realms), the Stormlord, (CR), or niche cultures/gods too! Interview process =  fill out google form here: Log in to view I'll pick my 3 favorites by Saturday (the 19th) , then from there we’ll talk on discord so I can get one last vibe check then we play! Transparently, these few shots are being run with the goal of growing a ‘long term’ roster for me and my existing tables. We pride ourselves on all being very strong, character focused roleplayers that throw our everything into the emotional story arcs and intense combats we go through together. While experienced players are preferred, ultimately you just have to be open to in equal measure be respectful and dedicated to the story we all tell together. PLEASE NOTE: While this game is being labeled as 21+ there will NOT be any gratuitous explicit sex scenes, gore, body horror, suicidal themes etc. That rating is mostly there because that is the general age range of my group (mid to late 20s), in reality I'd say the table 'rating' is more 18+ for cursing and general maturity level. Think CR/D20 level of vivid combat descriptors, social use of alcohol or drugs, occasional flirting if consensual, and fading to black if necessary (probably not relevant for this). I'm happy to go over any clarifications in call if chosen. Oh also obligatory, extremely LGBTQ+ and minority friendly. Bigotry of ANY kind is not tolerated. Thanks for reading! Hope to see you there!

Intro to Terra If you’re coming from Faerûn, think of Terra as a vast continent that used to feel like one big, functioning empire. A tradition of feudalism, with noble "High Lord" houses ruling over their regions. All offering allegiance to a central authority, the most powerful noble house, Arista, and crowned it's leader as the First Lord. So the Legend Goes At the dawn of this world, the Gods watched our people struggle to survive in an unforgiving world - Early settlements decimated by violent storms. Explorers slaughtered by ferocious beasts. To have a chance at survival, these benevolent Gods gifted the lands with powerful spirits. And for the inhabitants, an ability to bond with these spirits. As these lands were conquered, creatures brought over were quickly surpassed by Humans, who found they could tame and even command these spirits. For thousands of years, these settlers fought and struggled to secure as much power for themselves as possible. Anarchy, chaos, and endless bloodshed, with the most vulnerable most at risk. It was not until those wielding the most powerful elemental magic banded together that law and order was able to form. Rather than fighting each other, they spread across the lands in a uniform effort to end the violence. Forming what are now known to be the High Lords of Terra. These High Lords rallied behind the most powerful among them, First Lord of House Arista. For generations, there was peace among the world. Humans across Terra in harmony with one another and their spirit blessings, working together to build great cities, sprawling farmlands, relying on each other for protection. The Civil War starts... Nearly one hundred years ago, tragedy struck when the First Lord passed away, leaving behind two sons with competing claims to the throne. The older son, born of an illegitimate affair with the High Lady of House Kalara, vied for the throne against his younger brother, son to the First Lord's wife. The conflict immediately turned bloody amongst the High Lords. On one side stood the loyalists, supporting House Arista and the rightful heir to the throne as appointed by the King's betrothed. On the other stood the would be usurping traditionalists, who sought to uphold the laws of succession. They rallied behind House Kalara. Now, a century later, the realm remains divided, locked in a never-ending struggle for power and dominance. The loyalist houses of Teos, Retosia, and Pytion stand firm in their support of House Arista, while the traditionalist houses of Sultern, Rhodes, and Toria remain steadfast in their allegiance to House Kalara. As the conflict rages on, the fate of the realm hangs in the balance. One thing is certain - It cannot survive another century of civil war. A Forgotten Evil Stirs... While the realm is torn apart by war, a new shadow rises. Mysterious disappearances reported near the uninhabited forest. Legend of an undisturbed kingdom made of wax in it's center. Ghost stories of an ancient evil laying dormant... now waking up. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello! Looking to stretch myself and finally start a new table with a homebrew I've been putting together for a few years. Looking for players that are in a similar timezone (PST). I'm also a parent, so would be looking for evening sessions after kiddos are asleep (~7pm PST). The world's lore is loosely inspired by Jim Butcher's Codex Alera series, mashed together with Faerun. Familiarity with source material is not required or expected at all. Lore will be provided on this world, and the unique elemental powers ALL characters will have access to... With this world, there will be some restrictions on the Player Characters. All playable characters at this time will be Humans. Most classes are workable, though the system really lends itself to Martials/Half-Casters. I would highly recommend using one of those. I'm not a major Rules Lawyer, big believer in Rule-of-Cool and being adaptable. Improvising and leaning into the roleplay is where the magic happens. There will challenging, purposeful combat but not a meat-grinder style of a campaign. Getting the right dynamic is very important to me, so will definitely be intentional. Would also love some diversity (both in character and out of character) at the table. If this sounds interesting, please reach back out! Would be happy to discuss further and share more info on the lore to make sure it's a good fit. Regardless, best of luck to you on finding the right table. :) Cheers, Windy

The world of Phelun is an old one that has seen many conflicts throughout its history. While times seem peaceful, beneath the surface there are whisperings of the Dragon Queen stirring within her prison, strange events occurring upon the continent of Ines, and adventure awaiting upon the lost continent of Asoris. This is an 18+ only server that is a mix of go at your own pace pbp and west marches living world elements.  https://discord.gg/X8dFsNrjBw This is a new Server that has been worked on by one DM for 3 months. It currently features the following:     PbP forums for those who prefer slower RPs.     Living world channels where characters can explore the lands or meet one another in real time in the pub.     DM run Tables. (We are looking for more DMs to help run tables)     Mining, gathering, fishing, and exploration through Avrae commands (commands are ready, but random tables need to be filled out more for variety).     Random in game daily events (not tied to irl days, and still being worked on).     Market to buy items.     Guilds (will need leaders).     Job command to earn coin and a living world channel to RP the work in. (currently being reworked)     Custom Drinking command for the pub.     Player housing.
