Description

Very open to new players and helping them through the process so long as they are ready to learn. Really I just want to have good character work and a collaborative story!  Looking to start a Starfinder game in a homebrew universe in the next few weeks, possibly up to a couple of months before starting. I will ask for a decent amount of player input with some of the worldbuilding, as I have quite broad strokes (which luckily means you can really bring a scififantasy character to life!) but not too much detail, and I really thrive with direction. The campaign will focus on a) destroying/escaping evil dictator and b) personal backstory sandbox stuff. And a little time magic/ancient times/eldritch horrors beyond imagination. We have a decent pool of players already but I'm looking for some fresh blood to trial with the group and keep some freshness to our tabletop group (also possibly to try some Mythic Bastionlands with in the meantime while I am prepping the campaign!!) Please find the lore I've worked on so far below, it should be enough to let you know about possible character motivations and backgrounds, though note it does not span all locations nor all possible races. I want people to have fun with alien ideas really, nothing too "silly" as I want a serious, character driven game, however all kinds of aliens that could be relatively 'serious' are fine. Also all kinds of fantasy creatures, though I have added some of my own flavour to them!  Log in to view Will require using foundry (a VTT, browser based) and discord with decent mic :) Lastly, this is the message I have relayed about the intentions of the game so far to my existing players:
Characters of the initial Periphery campaign will be dual-classed, ancestry paragon, free archetype PF2e+SF2e player characters of second level. They will achieve greater heights through milestone levelling.

In terms of story, player characters (PCs) will be folk who were born on or ended up on the planet Ethos. This is a dead end for most people in the Periphery, however they came across subtle messaging or an outright invitation by a member of the Dawn's Aegis to join on Captain Seraphim 's maiden journey on a secret spaceflight route that might finally carve a way out of the Canorous system and into a safer, more free star system where they are free to plot Kinndra Baudelaire's demise. PCs will need a reason to see this to completion, as the campaign will be player driven in the story. Without proper reasons to do things and go places, nothing will happen and the game will fizzle. If you do not have a good reason, you will be asked to rewrite your motivations until you do.

Players are expected to understand these terms prior to session 1, hence the wiki where many things can be clicked. I encourage clicking around to see if there is either additional information or a link to something else for your understanding. Please ask any questions, as questions you have, others likely do as well.

The Star Hoarder's Cache

Previously, on The Star Hoarder's Cache: Fade into the party hurriedly discussing their plan while fleeing a burning Space Freighter "If it's a choice between joining Pirates, the Rebels or the Law... I'm for the Rebels." Cut to an impeccibly dressed businessman leaning on his mahogony desk "A new ship? That's quite the favor, my friends. Luckily I have just the job for you..." Fade up as we look into your character's eyes, focused straight ahead "There's no way, Val! That shot is impossible!"  "It's still the best we have." Hey everyone! I’m Alan, and I GM for a group of lovable misfits online. We've been together around 3 years now, and are getting ready to launch our next grand sci-fi campaign: The Star Hoarder's Cache! If you love deep character development, witty table banter, and adventures where your choices genuinely shape the story, we’d love to meet you! We’re currently looking for 1–2 dedicated roleplayers to round out our crew. The Campaign Hook: Think Guardians of the Galaxy meets Firefly, Mass Effect, and Treasure Island. Expect a scrappy, found-family crew chasing legendary fortunes across uncharted frontiers. The tone balances high-stakes galactic intrigue, sharp comedic banter, and meaningful character arcs. Your past catches up with you, the galaxy reacts dynamically to your decisions, and every crew member has a vital voice in where your ship flies next. We used the Adventure Path 'Murder in Metal City' to onboard us into SF2e, and are ready to tackle a homebrew campaign. About the GM & Table Style The Style: I bring 3 years of GMing experience backed by a long history studying improv at Second City. That means dynamic scenes, distinct NPC personalities, and an adaptive GM approach where player creativity, humor, and bold ideas are rewarded. The Current Crew: Our table consists of two women, and four men. (Including me, the GM) We're looking for another 1-2 players to round out the table, cis-women preferred. Immersion & Focus: To maintain high energy and uninterrupted roleplay during game night, our sessions are recorded and privately uploaded so that only table members have access. This allows me to stay 100% present in the moment while ensuring every player decision, inside joke, and plot thread is captured accurately between sessions without breaking the flow for note-taking. The Atmosphere: We are an inclusive, collaborative, and communicative group. We share the spotlight, support each other's character arcs, and prioritize fun, respectful storytelling above all else. We utilize safety tools like X-Cards and establish clear boundaries/lines & veils ahead of time. If a session is likely to involve heavier depictions of potentially difficult topics, I make a point to remind everyone of the X-Card options and check in with players ahead of time. Campaign Length: Our table enjoys campaigns around 12 sessions long. We've run four of them so far using PF2e. I try to focus on an overarching narrative while weaving in the backstories and goals of the party members. Some backstory plots get resolved along with the main campaign; while others are given clues and breadcrumbs into our next campaign. Logistics & Requirements System: Starfinder 2e / Pathfinder 2e We started as a PF2e group, and after 3 years; are trying out SF2e. The two systems are practically the same, except for minor tweaks Platform: Foundry VTT for gameplay, Discord for out-of-character crew banter. Schedule: Twice per month, running on a weekday evening (Mon, Tue, Wed, or Thu based on group consensus), 6:30 PM – ~11:00 PM CST. Tech: Clear working microphone, reliable internet, and a PC/browser capable of running Foundry VTT smoothly. Webcam use is encouraged, but optional. Age: 21+ I aim to run a PG-13/Sometimes 'R' rated table. We focus on keeping things friendly, with strictly zero-tolerance for bigotry or toxic behavior. How to Apply: If you want to join our crew, send me a direct message with brief answers to the following: Experience: What is your background with Pathfinder 2e, Starfinder 2e or tabletop RPGs? (Beginners to the system are welcome!) Playstyle: What draws you to TTRPG's; Combat/Strategy, Improv/Character development or creating a Shared-Storyline? Table Dynamic: What energy do you hope to bring to the table in our story-driven campaign? Applications will remain open until we find the right fit, followed by a brief, casual chat on Discord to make sure we're all on the same page before jumping in. (We'll go over table expectations, a short tutorial for using FoundryVTT, any Off-Limit topics, etc.) Looking forward to welcoming you to our table!

A flying city of portals, the City of Doors has closed. The gods have decreed that The Reckoning has come and the Material Plane's time is over. All that is left now is the Endlands, immeasurable leagues of sunless wastes, fled by all who can escape to the Outer Planes. But something else moves in the shadows. Might there be something worse than the end of the Material Plane after all? In this mash-up of Planescape and Stephen King's Dark Tower epic, you will explore a reality moving on, discover the secrets of its creation, and decide its fate once and for all. Your heroes have come together from across D&D's time and space to a land of sunless light, unpredictable magic, and guns. Lots of guns. Let's hope you're quick on the draw. Built for players with all levels of experience, Spireward Bound follows a semi-episodic structure. Every few sessions, your characters are confronted with a new, exciting situation on your journey, each of which is designed for open-ended adventure. Our adventure is underway, but there's room at the fireside for more travelers! The posse are level 12 and consists of: 🐎 Potra Equidos, Centaur Paladin and entertainer, dedicated to Kelemvor. Always the first to charge in with battle axe and shotgun, but never sure we're going the right way. ✊ Jasir al-Sahir, Drow Monk/Warlock, newly undead and struggling with the competing influence of Dabus 19 and the Frontier Flames. A increasingly erratic investigator with a hound at his side. 🐲 Fin, Kobold Rogue and seasoned bounty hunter. A little guy with a big job, eager to track down the Herald. In pursuit of the Justice Tarot and worried about growing danger to the Endlands, they find themselves planning to hijack a Mind Flayer train!
