Please join me to play "Waterdeep: Dragon Heist" starting January 2023! This pre-written module is for characters level 1-5. The main questline of this urban adventure is relatively short - it can be completed in 6-7 sessions. Yet the city of Waterdeep offers plenty of opportunities to integrate side quests, dungeon crawl, arena, etc. The story will follow a group of characters on a treasure hunt to Waterdeep to see them "get rich or die trying“ in the largest and most civilized capital of the Sword Coast. *** ABOUT YOU *** Are you a self-sufficient player who embraces roleplay? Can you commit to a 6-month campaign? (approx. Jan 2023 - Jun 2023) If so, I'm excited to hear from you - please drop me a few lines about yourself and your expectations for this campaign!:) Are you new to D&D? The campaign is very much beginner-friendly and will suit you well. *** ORGANIZATIONAL NOTES *** (To be updated as the group starts coming together) I plan to run sessions for this campaign two times per month. Session 0 will be in January 2023 (possibly earlier if the group comes together swiftly). *** CAMPAIGN INTRO *** Welcome to Waterdeep, known as the Crown of the North - the most civilized capital on the Sword Coast. The city earned its reputation not only by enforcing protective laws on the land but also for the comforts and diversity of life within its walls. Broad boulevards of Waterdeep thrum with traffic. All day and well into the night, a bewildering melee of merchants and tradesmen on wagons, carts, carriages, buggies, and hire-coaches surge through its major thoroughfares. Waterdeep is no village led by hidebound hierarchs or petty fiefdom ruled by the whim of a warlord. Governed by the council of Masked Lords, it is a city of laws molded by Tyr's spirit of justice. Additionally, no aspect of life in Waterdeep goes untouched by at least one of its more than forty guilds. Away from the big streets and the eyes of commoners, several influential factions in different wards of the city have recently been up to something: Gang violence has erupted in the docks; Nobles are hosting secret gatherings behind closed doors of their mansions; Talks of foreign nationals bribing city officials can be heard in taverns of the castle district. Why are the factions on the move? What do their goals have in common? The one who can find answers to these questions may get into serious trouble - or get a glimpse of wealth beyond imagination. *** ABOUT ME *** I started DMing in 2019 and ran over fifty sessions for close friends, as well as for people I have met on this platform. I am passionate about minis/terrain/maps, so you can expect a lot of props at the game table. Aside from D&D, I am a professional in my mid-thirties, settled back home in Tallinn after extensive work-related travel. We are raising a baby boy together with my wife. I speak eng/est/rus.
