Hello everyone!! 😄 I am a 21 year old DM (He/him), and I am running a mini homebrew campaign where the players get to play as gods! These are literal gods! Forces of nature! Cosmic entities! Your power far exceeds that of anything on the Material Plane. You can protect mortals from apocalypse, level entire kingdoms to the ground, or cast whole realms under your influence. But even though you are immortal celestials, some of the most powerful beings in the entire universe, you are not invincible to other spiritual entities who are on the same power level. The existence of a god is still one of dangers and conflict. I already have one player, and am looking for three more! Because this is a homebrew DND variant, it means that the play testing of the game will be experimental and rules may be subject to refining and change as the game goes on. We will be using most of DND 5e’s rules, however, the PC classes and character sheets will be replaced by a God Sheet. There are different god equivalents for “classes”, but know that a lot of character creation and progression uses homebrew rules designed to maximize player personalization. Character creation will use the Point Buy system with a +3 to chosen ability scores meant to replace races/species. The play time is the default, however the time can be flexible and the days may change when people are available! The sessions will usually go for 4-5 hours. We will be using a discord server for messages, rule reference, and VC. The platform will be on Roll20 for maps, but players can use any platform for character sheets as long as I have access. You are encouraged to come up with any idea for a god that you want! The universe does have specific lore but if that affects your idea we can discuss. Gods are the manifestations of their Domains in this universe, which grants them power but also comes with a responsibility of managing it. Your domain could be fire, the sea, war, storms, peace, anything! For a brief statement about the setting, the universe is vast with trillions of worlds and peoples. The Gods are the most powerful entities that rule over the universe and maintain the relevance of their Domains. The more powerful the Domain, the more powerful the god becomes. The game will require your god to manage their domain in a new game mode called the "Domain Phase", where you get to feel like a god, answering prayers, dealing with crises and defending against incursions. In terms of gameplay elements, it will be a balanced game between story, character roleplay, and combat. Although, as a DM storytelling and roleplay is my favorite and will be heavily included! This will be a mini campaign that will go from level 1 to 8 (with levels 1 to 5 going by in one session or very quickly just to get the hang of abilities). It may go one or two levels higher depending on how things go! As a DM I am usually excited, chill and reasonable! I love immersion and embracing player ideas and helping them bring their character ideas to life! The behavioral expectations are pretty simple. Just be a nice person. However for those who need a more detailed description, the following will NOT be tolerated: - Harassment or bullying of any kind - Negativity towards other players - Discrimination, Racism, Sexism, or any hostility to any group of any kind - Respect other players and the DMs decision - Acting in spite, or in the intension to sabotage the campaign, or other player’s experiences. - Intruding on other member’s privacy without their permission. If one of these topics become a constant issue, then there will be a warning, and if it continues then unfortunately this might not be the group for you. The content of the campaign is what you would generally expect from DND with violence and such. But elements like gore, language or other sensitive topics will be checked in with the players, along with triggers, to get a feel of what people are ok with including.
