Description

I've been DMing for 25 years. I've played and run a lot of games. Every edition of D&D (except for 4th), The Warhammer 40K games (Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader, etc...), a few of the Star Trek games, probably others I'm forgetting.

New World New You!

Newbie friendly Newbie friendly
Had a player leave due to stupid real life getting in the way of D&D, so I have another spot open. He was the rogue, so a rogue would be cool, but not mandatory. You can be whatever you want. The game takes place on a recently discovered continent, and largely revolves around exploring it. There's one permanent settlement, and there's fun stuff going on there too. The group just hit 3rd level, so you'll start at 3rd level too. Anything from the official 3.5 releases is fine to use (except for Tome of Battle and Savage Species), and there's a few 3rd party books you can use too. The game is on Saturdays at 3pm EST, we use Discord and Owlbear Rodeo, and I have a form fillable PDF character sheet we're using. The idea is that you came to this new land to make a new life for yourself. Why is entirely up to you. I've purposefully left the "old world" as vague as possible so you can come up with pretty much any kind of character you want. All I ask is no royalty. My only real requirement is that you have a decent microphone, and if you have a lot of noise going on around you put yourself on push to talk. I'm kind of deaf and have a hard enough time hearing as it is.

Bajorans and Cardassians on a Train!

Mag Lev Transports of the Glorious Cardassian Occupied Bajor The whole title wouldn't fit in the title bar. So here's a weird one. There's this game called Trains of the Glorious Republic of the People. It's about people on a train, in a non specific European country, after a non specific revolution. I love cool little niche games like this, but as I'm reading it I thought "you know what, we can make this even more niche." And then I thought "man, wouldn't it be cool if this took place on Bajor during the Occupation?" And then I thought "yeah it would, let's do it!"  So how this works, before you make any characters each player rolls to see what cars are on the train, and that determines what kinds of characters you can make. Like, if there's a troop transport car you could be a soldier, if theres a dining car you could be a chef, etc... After that you can make your character. The train goes from station A to station B, and there are stops on the way where shenanigans may or may not ensue. That's it. That's the whole game. You just play your character on the train ride. Now since we're putting the Star Trek twist on it, your character could either be a Bajoran or a Cardassian, depending on what occupation you go with. There is a very real chance of PVP since, you know, one of you could be a brutal overlord and the other a beleaguered freedom fighter, so bear that in mind. This would be a one shot, as this game isn't really designed for ongoing campaigns. The mechanics are really simple. It's a d6, roll under your skill value thing. You're not going to have to learn much. Time and date to be determined when we have players. We'll be using Discord. I don't know if we'll need maps or not, but if we do they'll be on Owlbear Rodeo. So if you're a Star Trek fan like me and want to play something really weird, here's your chance.

D&D 3.5 Exploring the New World

I think my 5th player spot might be cursed.  So here's the deal. It's a D&D 3.5 game, about exploring a new land. Every Saturday, 3pm EST, Discord and Owlbear Rodeo, sessions are usually about 3 hours. I've got four players already. We have a human rogue, human sorcerer, elf rogue, and elf ranger. We had another player drop out. So I'm looking for one more. I like having five. I'm looking for a more outgoing player, most of my people are new to D&D, and are still a little timid about the roleplaying part. So I need someone to show them the way, but at the same time won't hog the spotlight when it's someone else's turn to shine. You don't have to be familiar with 3.5 to play. Pretty much everything from the official books is okay. You'll be starting at 2nd level. The world itself is small (right now anyway), only one permanent settlement, and an entire land to explore. There are signs that a civilization was once here, but there are no native intelligent species. Wonder what's up with that? Maybe you can figure it out. Or maybe you want to find a nice spot and start your own town. You could do that too. You can do pretty much anything you want. I have purposefully left the "old world" as vague as possible so that you can create pretty much any kind of character with any kind of background you'd like. The only thing I ask is no royalty. If you want to be a King or a Queen you'll have to start from scratch and found your own dynasty.  I didn't think we were dealing with "mature" subjects but apparently we are. There was a slave market in a bandit camp, and our dearly departed player didn't like that (he wasn't even there mind you, he just read the chat afterwards), so I guess if that kind of thing bothers you, you should pass. They didn't even buy any slaves, in fact I think they're hatching a plan to free some of them next week. My only real rules are: have a decent microphone, and put yourself on push to talk if you have a lot of noise going on around you. But yeah, if you're interested or have any questions, feel free to comment or DM me.
