GM Terminal Kit
Turn your table into a hacker movie.
GM Terminal Kit lets you build a fake retro computer, with files, passwords, email, programs, alarms and glitches, then hand the keyboard to your players. It's one file that runs in your browser, even offline. Originally designed to be a prop for TTRPG's, Murder Mystery Parties or other in person events, GM Terminal Kit has gone on to adopt a number of features which can make for an entertaining terminal-based standalone game.
What you can build
- Clues hidden in files and folders, password locks, files that self-destruct
- Accounts with mail that arrives mid-game
- Events: when players read a file or type a phrase, new mail appears, a character starts typing, or a countdown begins
-Sound effects and a robotic voice, made right in the browser
-Screen glitch, shake and flash
-12 looks, including 80s green CRT, DOS PC, military teletype and cyberpunk
-Questions with branching answers
-Animated GIFs that play as ASCII art
-An event map that shows how it all connects, and Run now to test any script
-Export for players: one file you can send, with locked content encrypted
Comes with Kestrel Station, a short sample game that shows off every feature.

Thornfield Terminal
A guest login to a research lab's computer, 1989. A friendly message from someone called Pan. Evidence that needs to get out.
Read files, crack passwords, dig up deleted mail, and decide who to trust. Short, with two endings. Turn your sound on. Your progress saves in your browser.
Made with GM Terminal Kit, free to download, so you can build your own. Want to see how Thornfield works inside? The source is $2 on the kit's page.
