Description

Hello everyone! My name is Mira, I'm a 20 year old GM from Italy, and recently, I made a few boss statblocks inspired by Granblue Fantasy: Relink. To take them for a spin and get some feedback, I plan on running those fights (with some dungeon crawling in one case) as oneshots. They will all run at the time of 19:00/7pm GMT+2, lasting four to five hours at the absolute most, on different days. This is the signup for the oneshot against Log in to view, which will be run on Monday, August 24th. Character level will be 18 and each character will have one Very Rare, one Rare and one Uncommon or lower Magic Item. I hope to see you there!

TL;DR [One Player Needed - All Welcomed] [homebrew - Viking inspired] [Thursdays 21:30 GMT +2 ] We have one slot available for a 4-player party. You can read below everything about the campaign, its settings, etc, and I can share a lot more lore with whoever gets to the Discord "face-to-face" interview :) Since the campaign launched on YouTube, you can also watch recent episodes to get a sense of the current party vibe and overall style. We keep things balanced, so there are episodes with a lot of fighting and episodes with mostly role-play. Mind - We are all experienced players/DMs but amateurs when it comes to "acting", so don't expect great acting, technical know-how, or CR level game ;) You can find it on YouTube under the name: The Chronicles of Alver - https://www.youtube.com/@ChroniclesofAlver I will add that I'm looking for people with the ability to take charge and initiate role play and conversations - I want you to feel like you're in the world and try your best to "live" in it :) Lastly, everyone is welcome to try - I don't care about your race, sexual orientation, or favorite blanket as a child. Be kind and friendly to the rest of the party, and you'll fit right in :) Click the link to apply: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScIeo4QAfbIuDVafQxzwxbnO4WD9GxjzJyPEBvs4x5R9SeiWg/viewform?usp=header ******************* Hey everyone! This post will be long as I want to give you a lot of information, so bear with me :) Index: About me About the campaign About the world Closing words About me: I'm an experienced DM (over 9 years). I would like to have five players for the campaign. You don't need to be a veteran, but I prefer some experience. The campaign is my homebrew world, which I created for a fantasy book I'm writing (and have been for several long years). I'm the head of a creative studio in an AAA-related gaming company. I'm a fantasy lover, a medieval history buff, and a martial artist, so if it has capes, I'm in! I'm a married father of three with a dog (so technically four as she's very much a daughter to me). I generally love dad jokes and word puns. I always mean my puns! About the campaign: We'll be using 5e with many homebrew elements. All the races and lore are homebrew, but for ease of use, they will all be based on edited versions of "normal" races (and all will be added to D&D Beyond). The party is currently at level 7. This will strike a balance between action and role-play. You will have a lot of weight on the story and direction. Everything goes - as long as it's realistic within the logic and magic of the world. Please let me know what you'd like to try, and we'll see how to make it happen. Death is final. Mostly. If your character dies, it'll be rare to bring them back. But you can always roll a new character. My goal is for you to enjoy the game and story. I don't want to kill your characters. I aim to provide you with a challenge, an engaging story, and a fun and immersive experience. Weekly sessions are held on Thursdays, most often (unless too many people are unable to join, in which case we'll try to find an alternative day for that week). Sessions start at 21:30 +3 GMT (18:30 UTC) and are usually two and a half hours long. We're doing video chat via the Riverside website (also for recording). I believe seeing our faces and expressions helps connect us, so I want people who are not camera-shy. No one cares how you look, what your race or color is, or whatever - be yourself (and your character), and that's great! D&D Beyond + Foundry for combat + Discord (for text chats). YouTube/Podcast - I record our sessions and post them on the campaign's YouTube channel, and may also stream them live later. I'm not delusional in thinking we'll be big or famous, but maybe some people will find our game fun to watch and benefit from it. So you need to be ok with it. Before we dive into lore and character creation, I'll ask you to sign a release form to allow me to upload videos featuring you from our sessions (all the other players have signed this form - it is to protect both you and me in the future). We speak English. I'm not a native speaker, and I don't do accents very well. But I do have excellent English. The sessions will be in English. You need to be able to speak it well. Accents are fine :) Please do not include IRL politics or agendas during sessions - These motifs are ok and might be present if they are relevant to what's going on in the session (i.e, Slavery or the Spanish Inquisition if we face a similar situation - you can use philosophical ideas obviously) - But try not to insert IRL events happening now or in recent years if possible. Age groups - around 30 or above, please Ensure you schedule a time for the session. This is important, as we've had people cancel frequently, leading to canceled sessions that significantly hinder story progression and immersion. Unforeseen shit can happen, of course, but please, if you apply, make sure you can commit to being available for the sessions each week. About the world: We'll be playing in a world called Alver on the continent of Kronland. This is a heavily Nordic-inspired world. Imagine what the late Middle Ages and Renaissance in Europe would have looked and felt like if the Vikings had become the dominant influence rather than Christianity. At the same time, there would still be distinct kingdoms with their own cultures, fashions, and styles. Norse mythology is deeply ingrained in the world.  The lore is inspired by Nordic mythology, but it is NOT Nordic mythology. It's a full-on pantheon and history I created. Some stuff will align and match, but much will not.  The continent is vast, and thus, the distance between cities, villages, and civilizations is such that the world varies greatly, from areas with rare magic and supernatural elements to cosmopolitan cities with mixed races, magic, and wonder. The game is designed to strike a balance between drama, grim humor, and epic adventure. It's not just grimdark or silly - it'll be a mix of all. You'll start small in scope, but the story is meant to go epic by the end.  There are five playable races (with some having sub-races), which I'll share the details of later, but these are the closest "D&D" races to them in racial traits: Menskr: Humans + Vel (homebrew variant human - with some innate self-magical potential) Kettir: Homebrew Tabaxi Hedlinari: Homebrew mix between Dwarfs/Gnomes/Halfings Graari: Homebrew Goliath (with horns! lol) Mal-Siva: Homebrew Aasimar (The only race that can use "real" magic classes like Wizards or Warlocks in my world) Closing words: That's it. If you read all the way here, my respect! I hope we can have a fun, friendly group to play with, grow together, and have emotional support when needed (lol). Feel free to ask me any questions you might have!

Grael Infinite Plaguelands - Ruins of Hope

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Its been 40 years since the incident in Ion occured which would lead to its tragic fate. A strange winged creature broke through the titanic structure of the dome of the city. Whatever did clearly leading to its irreparability. Within few years the city became a desolate ruin and its citizens were forced to flee underground. Eventually the project to rebuild Ion was tasked to the main overseer - Regina Vivingon Leigh. Yet the overworld of the Baronny isnt entirely happy with the notion of Ion coming back. The nearby circle city of Elrond is determined to prevent this task. You all were tasked with scavenging the ruins of Old Ion to find secrets in it, something that could help Elrond find where the people of Ion are hiding and what was so special about Ion. Whether youre doing it out of curiosity, to earn favour with the rulers of Elrond, or simply for the reward isnt important. The important thing is that you come prepared. Its said that there are strange threats lurking in the shadows of the ruin. The DM Greeting TTRPG community. My name is Shiv, a 22 year english teacher/amateur musical performer/ drag queen and I hail from Poland. I have been DM'ing for 5+ years, including a weekly monday campaign which has been going regularly since august last year and will go on for another year at least. My DM'ing history is exclusive to dnd which is a system I have a certain mastery in reshaping to my whims. As a DM I am very pro homebrew (as you will see later in the post) and I encourage player creativity, as long as it fits the setting we're in. I prioritise story and plot and thus always make sure that character backstories and themes are tied to at least one prominent plot point. First part of the password is: The. I pride myself on connecting things quite organically and can do so halfway through the story so dont be worried about your characters dieing :3 Another thing i pride myself on is handling tough themes in stories with respect they require and subjecting characters to hardship. In my campaigns, and especially this one, victories are hard earned, but when you do earn them, its a triumph. Despite the above statement I dont enjoy punishing my players I actively need to force myself to give adequate consequences, but trust and believe - If you act stupid, you will get an appropriate response. On the topic of consequences I do have a zero nonsense policy on problematic behaviour. If I notice an issue, I will speak with the player and let them adress their behaviour. We're here to work together to tell a story not against each other. All this makes me sound like a serious person but I am very much a jokester and always try to liven the mood when possible. I just take my responsibility as DM quite seriously. I make more than half the maps I use as well as all the enemies you fight, magic items you get and I am always willing to make a subclass for someone If asked nicely. The World In short Grael is a post-post-apocalyptic setting. The apocalyptic event happened way over 3000 years ago and the world learnt to live around it. The Second part of the password is: Ground Progress has been made both magically and technologically, including a broad train system and everyone's favourite airships. All this progress is mainly in opposition to the ever present threat of Decay - the magical force that aims to corrode and rot away everything, living and unliving. The pace of progress is combated by the pace of the Decay strengthening, seeming like a futile attempt to simply slow down the inevitable doom of all life. Those who can bear some Decay intensity will in open settlements like the broad circle cities and the water-fairing Mazzeras, but others hide in the steampunk Fortresses, colourful Carnival Courts or underground all the way to the underdark (more info in the Grael master doc below). Overall this world combines different visions of a post-apocalyptic world with different types of dystopian societies to create a truly one of a kind Existentialism nightmare. The Player The perfect player for this campaign is someone who is writing out their character on a psychological level. In this game choices matter and when I say they matter, They Matter, how you choose to approach the conflicts will dictate how the different microcosms will change. Thus how the character approaches choice-making, what choices they make, how do they argue them and how do they live with consequences is chief. This player must be consistent. The Third part of the password is: Awaits. The game doesnt stop when someone has to miss a session. The only way a campaign can live is through players who make this a priority of some sorts to them, not show up when they feel like it. I am looking for storytellers, people who want to achieve something with tje characters they write. Intentionality is key and so is creating a proper theme. I dont need 20+ pages of backstory, half is enough often times. Some of the most interesting characters I had in my campaigns had bulletpoint backstories. You cant be rules rigid. This is s roleplay first campaign. You say what you want to do and my job is to tell you if it is possible and if its see through the consequences accordingly. Sometimes I might need to be corrected on how certain rules work, but oftentimes when I dont do something rules as written, there is a reason. This also extends to the fact I am veru homebrew forward and have some homebrew rules of my own. Finally, I am running this campaign for my friend, after last time we did it in this setting fell apart. Me and my friend tend to be obnoxious together, but we can buckle down and have serious moments and Rp. I expect the same from you all, dear applicants. The Game Still awake? I can put on some subway surfers in the background if it is boring. We will be playing 5e 2014 dnd however we will be utilising the Weapon Mastery feature from 2024 as well as using 2024 variants of spells for healing (mandatory) and other spells (optional). The game takes place on Tuesdays 8pm to 11 pm CEST. The fourth part of the password is: You. The day and time is non-negotiable. There might be cases where we might want to run longer just to finish something so I would ask you be open to that. Voice and all communication will be done through the dedicated discord server. The game itself will be held in foundry (if i figure out how to use it) Next tuesday I plan there to be a session 0 but it might be postponed to the next week If I need more time vetting applicants. The actual game will begin 2 weeks after session 0, to ensure proper time for character creation. The game will start at level 3, but I tend to have a quick pace with level ups. Applying Since I already have 1 player, I will be looking for 3-4 players to fill up the roster. I will be collecting application till friday evening when I will close the form so probably around 10 pm. People I select from the form will move on to the voice interview portion where after all calls are made I shall inform all voice-vetted applicants of their verdicts. I will not be contacting people not accepted on the application form stage. To apply you must fill-out the form, I will not be reading any private reddit messages from anyone. All answers that you need to find out are already in the post. MOONLIGHTERS: Adventures After Dark!

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
The City never sleeps, and as a Moonlighter, niether will you! MOONLIGHTERS is a high-stakes Dungeons and Dragons campaign set in a fantastical version of the modern day. The players take the role of Moonlighters - part time adventurers who operate after dark. Are you a college dropout Elf? A pixie attorney specialising in Magic Item law? A gnome taxi driver? Whatever your reason, while the city sleeps, you Adventure! Players will form an Adventuring Party, working the Adventuring gig economy in the Big City. They'll choose from available jobs, meet wacky clients, and co-operatively worldbuild and expand on the city with the DM in the process. Will you stage an elaborate heist at the Museum of Villainy? Fix a Wizard Duel for a down-and-out gambler? Explore the forgotten catacombs of the public graveyard? It's up to you! More here: https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmq7tyim4007bjs04bh2hluyy?q=moonlighters  Each of the player characters will have a day job, which will be narratively incorporated into the story. If your single dad Orc is an accountant by day. maybe they'll notice some irregularities in the companies magical accounts. If they're an exhausted sound technician for a bratty DJ, maybe they'll have some connections to the shadier side of the city. During a Session 0, we will all discuss the general tone of the game the players are in the mood for. Player characters could all be friends fresh out of college, living out a coming-of-age Jon Hughes movie (with oozes and werewolves), a group of reluctant oddballs flung together in a workplace comedy, or desperate individuals just trying to make ends meet in a brutal, unforgiving city. The choice will be communal, and can always evolve with the narrative. I will discuss privately what each player wants to see, and what they never want to see in game. I'll make sure everyone is on the same page without drawing attention to any individual player's needs. The games is $20 per session via Startplaying. Alternatively, you can message me if you would rather pay another way.
