Deathmatch Island

Hello perspective player! I've set up a Living World discord server with a unique world. Its very Rules-lite, RP being custom (heavily taking from Salvage Union) and Steel Rift for most combat. It is Play-By-Post, with me handling the map and rulings so that it can be time-zone and time-available agnostic! (Also feel free to send pics of physical minis if you want to use/display them! The system is mini-agnostic for anyone interested in playing Steel Rift locally.) There are several changes now that I have made so that its easier to manage as a PbP game (inches to Hex Tiles), as well as things that give more options to players. You wont need to buy a copy of the rules, as I have them available on the server. Advanced Rules will be added over time, both to not overwhelm players but also so I can cherry pick what works with the League and missions that I will present players with (and to a lesser extent the flimsy lore I have for this game-world). Players will be a General Purpose Administrator/Logistics A.I. (aka ʒenais), usually manufactured and purchased by Militaries and MegaCorps for admin work on large vessels and in company-cities. In this case though, the players have been purchased by an Underboss of a Redlight planet. They'll be placed in control of the crime faction's Blood Sport Assets in the burgeoning, new Mecha Coliseums popping up all around the seedy ecumenopolis. You'll put together HE-Vs and teams and enter them into Bouts, Tournaments, Leagues, etc. Obtain purses and prizes from wins, bet on other player's matches for side profit, and go Rogue to get out from under the crime boss's thumb! Eventually players will be able to accept contracts off world for MegaCorps and Sovereignties (ala BattleTech style) and will be able to flex more of the mission types and advanced rules over time. I'm running it via a purpose made Discord server and using Tabletop Sim purely so the maps and models will be a bit more exciting than a 2d, top-town grid. There is currently only 1 mechanical roll tied to Roleplay itself (subject to change depending on what players decide to get up to). It currently features the following:     PbP forums for those who prefer slower RPs.     Living world channels where characters can explore the lands or meet one another in real time in the pub.     DM run Tables. (We are looking for more DMs to help run tables)     Mining, gathering, fishing, and exploration through Avrae commands (commands are ready, but random tables need to be filled out more for variety).     Random in game daily events (not tied to irl days, and still being worked on).     Market to buy items.     Guilds (will need leaders).     Job command to earn coin and a living world channel to RP the work in. (currently being reworked)     Custom Drinking command for the pub.     Player housing.

Hi.  I run a game on Discord, Tuesday nights, 7 PM Eastern.  It’s a fantasy game…sometimes.  It’s sci-fi set in Shanghai…well, maybe next week.  It was a western a week ago, I think, or was that gothic horror? The game has you as a special agent, traveling to alternate histories for a massive, multi-reality travel agency.  Because all possibilities are possible, you can be whatever you want (within reason, about as powerful as an X-Man/Teen Titan and you must appear as human or at least as something that’s common in reality like a squirrel or something that could wear a holo projector to appear human).  Our group has a Fae cowboy, and a dieselpunk femme fatale.  In the past we've had robots, intelligent sand, hive-mind insect swarms and so on.  You come up with the concept and we’ll make it happen.   The game uses GURPS – a very old, crunchy and confusing game engine.  However, you will not have to do anything, just tell me what you want & I do the numbers.  I (the GM) am so backwards that we do not use AI or software.  I use a paper map and puppets. A bit about the group.  We may have one person, maybe more, leaving and we need a replacement.  This is not set in stone & cannot guarantee this will happen.  The group is mostly younger (20’s-30’s) & mostly women.  Therefore, I would prefer anyone joining to be a woman or at the very least not be weird about it.  This will get you immediately banned.  Please be nice and professional.   If you hate your office job or capitalism in general,  this is the game for you! We’re looking for the following: Foremost is a good personality and a sense of humor.  You can be shy and awkward (shy & awkward people often have the best senses of humor).  Juat don’t bring the mood down.  Next is consistency.  We’d prefer someone that can show up.  We play once per week, and you will need to consider that if you feel it will be an issue.  Finally, we are newb friendly and pro LGBT.  All we ask that you don’t be a jerk.   We do sometimes say naughty words and drink adult beverages.  Well, at least I do.  Please contact me via Discord (@yeroldpalwill).  I respond quickly.  The application is optional,  but the questions are philosophical and thought provoking-ish.
