Description

System: D&D 5e (2024 rules) Player experience level: Any, new players are more than welcome Price: $15 per session, paid via Patreon (Session Zero + First free) Platform: Foundry VTT, Discord for voice and video.

Welcome to Rise of the Runelords, Paizo's acclaimed Pathfinder 1e AP adapted for D&D 5e. An epic fantasy adventure with darker, grittier undertones and horror elements, taking characters from level 1 to 15.

Located on the largely untamed frontier of Varisia, the coastal town of Sandpoint has faced few trials and dangers over the course of its forty-two-year history. Unfortunately, that is all about to change. Your adventure begins here, as a series of seemingly unconnected events gradually draw your characters into a mystery far darker than anyone could’ve imagined. You see, millennia ago, before Earthfall, a cataclysm that devastated Golarion and brought an end to many ancient civilisations, these lands were part of a mighty empire. Its influence and power were unrivalled at the time, yet it fell with the rest of the ancient world. Remnants of its former glory still dot Varisia’s landscape. And while the people of Sandpoint may have little reason to concern themselves with the distant past, they will soon find out that it has far greater bearing on their lives than they realise. As with any epic story, your journey will take you far beyond the walls of Sandpoint. You'll face hundreds of foes, explore ancient ruins, and brave Varisia’s gloomy forests and rugged mountains as you uncover the source of the darkness threatening the land. Fight strong, for you may be the only thing keeping Varisia, and perhaps Golarion itself, safe from doom!
I’ve been a huge fan of Paizo’s Adventure Paths for a long time, particularly the older ones. Since 5e has a considerably larger player base than Pathfinder in general, especially compared to the 1st edition, adapting them for D&D felt like a great way to bring these amazing stories to people who might otherwise not experience them. To get everyone ready for the adventure, we'll have a free Session Zero. During it we’ll create characters, get to know each other, and go over any other relevant details so everyone's on the same page before we begin.

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Monday, Tuesday A group decides on day & time Most people will probably play between 16:00 – 21:00 (GMT+0) It'll be played in a Discord voice chat "Theatre of the Mind" playstyle (means no VTT) Discord (weebseatshit) *PREMISE* You are dragged into a dangerous encounter together with other unlucky ones. Now you are bonded whether you want it or not. Since you are a witness, some people want you dead, watch your back(s) & trust no one It's an RP-focused, casual, beginner-friendly Forgotten Realms based homebrew campaign, with an emphasis on story & adventures Ratio: 60 Roleplay/30 Exploration/10 Combat Starting level is 1, Point Buy, Milestone leveling Spells become cantrips, a player can cast them without components or GP Cooldown of spells depends from their power level & the DM's will, but if a player is gonna spam spells, i'll Elfen Lied him or put some shit like Leo Bonhart from Witcher  Some spells that affect game's balance & world, may be forbidden. It'll be discussed HP are cinematic. Depending from how much & what kind of damage a character receives, i'll adjust his condition Only these races are allowed: Human, Elf (Moon, Wood), Dwarf, Goliath, Tiefling (Purple, Pink, Blue), Tystling (a human with cat ears (& eyes)) Artificer & Psion aren't allowed I'll describe locations & looks with little to no detail Just like with the books, i'd prefer that every player imagined their own stuff (& because there may be an info that player may not get or just ignore) About forbidden spells As an example, this is only level 1 Wizard, but i hope you get an idea Mending Charm Person Detect Magic Detect Poison and Disease Friends Unseen Servant Tasha's Hideous Laughter Sudden Awakening Sleep Sense Emotion Puppet Identify Id Insinuation Healing Elixir Disguise Self Comprehend Languages Cause Fear Ressurection & lethal spells Instead of using ability checks or in-game tools (acquiring unique items, talking to people, searching for clues, improvise), a player casts a spell that speedruns a campaign But a player can prepare all other spells A tystling is similar to a cat Monochrome darkvision Enhanced senses: smell, hearing, vision, touch & balance (+3 Dexterity, Perception, Acrobatics) Soft step: walking is almost noiseless (unless a tystling has something noisy on), running is slightly quieter comparing to other races (+4 Stealth) A tystling is shorter than an elf, but taller than a dwarf A tystling is slim like an elf, but lighter than an elf, with smaller muscles. That makes a tystling even more agile & dexterous than an elf, but it's very hard for a tystling to lift or carry medium heavy things (8 AC, -5 Strength, Athletics)

System: D&D5e (mix of both 2014 and 2024) with homebrew Time Slots Available: Sundays at 6pm GMT-3, Mondays at 7pm GMT-3, Tuesdays at 7pm GMT -3 , Wednesdays at 7pm GMT-3 and Thursdays at 7pm GMT-3 Session Duration: average of 4 hours Session Cost: $5, session 0 will be free. Tools: Discord for voice and text, Fantasy Grounds VTT. Seats Available (minimum of 3 players to start): Sunday: 1/5. Monday: 1/5. Tuesday: 5/5. Wednesday: 5/5. Thursday: 5/5. Game Style This is to be a rather unusual run through Curse of Strahd, as some of the content been changed along with small bits of the greater plot. Quite a bit of content from previous editions of Ravenloft, along with new content, has been added in hopes of creating a new experience for newcomers and veterans alike. About the adventure It was a quiet day when a desperate messenger arrived to the great city Ravenport carrying a most distressing message: The nearby lumber town of Halzen has been overtaken by a mysterious mist, any who enter it never to be seen again. The townsfolk put together all the money and resources they had to send an envoy requesting aid, for dark things stalk the nights and more and more of the inhabitants disappear come morning, the sun ever dimmer. The Black Hound's Consort Mercenary Guild has put out an official bounty of 500 units of sterling silver for any that may solve this mystery, but you may find that gold would not have been enough for what you found yourselves against.
