Description

The Rules This is a ‘Classic D&D’ game. It is in the spirit of B/X, BECMI, and Old School Essentials, if not completely faithful to those specific rules sets. We will be using a heavily modified version of those rules which I am developing called Delvers and Denizens. There may be a lot of differences and unfamiliar rules, yet as a whole the ruleset is designed to be compatible with any TSR-era version of D&D The Setting The Known World of Dracopolis is an alternate version of the world of Mystara published by TSR. The setting is a ‘gritty’ pseudo-historical parallel of Earth. In fact it is Earth as it was approximately 150 million years ago, with the addition of humankind and fantasy monsters and magic. Each human nation or culture in the setting is drawn as a direct analogy of a real Earth culture such as medieval Constantinople, England during the time of Alfred the Great, etc. Player characters begin as common folk in search of fame and fortune, and if they survive might become great heroes or villains. The Known World of Dracopolis has been continuously run since the mid 90s by a variety of DMs, starting with my father. The very first PCs played by myself and my siblings went on many exciting adventures and founded the Dragon City, aka Dracopolis, along with the Adventurer’s Guild. Those early adventurers were constantly negotiating with assumed ‘enemies’ and establishing trade and military alliances. The current campaign takes place some 30 years after Dracoplois was founded, and the 1st generation are dying out or retiring. It is time for a new generation of Adventurers to forge the destiny of the Known World!

Borderlands of Cormyr - OD&D / Chainmail game

Combat focused
Fights, tactics and initiative take up most of the table time.
No paid games
On a player profile - you are looking for free games and are not interested in paid ones.
The Borderlands of Cormyr - an old game that we have been running for 5 years is starting back up again! A few of the players are more interested in domain play, so we have been doing a lot of skirmishes & wargaming using the chainmail rules. Most men survived the last few battles with a goblin horde of over 600 goblins - they have returned, and many are now taking their hand at becoming adventurers! The party will likely consist of lower level players, perhaps with one or two higher levels, so it is a good time to start. The town of Tilverton, north-east of the Cormyr area in the Forgotten Realms world, has been besieged by goblins as of late. The party has just heard rumors of a goblin kingdom in the nearby Thunder Peak mountains, which is likely the source of all these attacks. There is also the feared Harondalbar dragon that has been laying siege to the stonelands and Cormyr settlements to the west - the party has decided best to leave him be for now, but perhaps there is more to the story than just goblins... The idea for the game will be to use Chainmail for the overworld encounters (i.e. battles with over 200 or so men), and OD&D or perhaps OSE or B/X for the dungeon delving. Once your characters become heroes or heroes -1 (level 3 fighter) your character becomes quite powerful and harder to kill, but characters will feel pretty fragile at lower levels. Expect a lot of deaths, but hopefully that can be avoided with ingenuity and some luck.

Power Phantasy: Vice & Viscera

West Marches / Living World
One world and a big pool of players, but no fixed party - whoever signs up that week is who plays.
"In a time beyond beginning, when savage warrior-kings conquered and enslaved all who dared oppose them, and cruel lords of shadow raised black monuments to conjure eldritch horrors from beyond the outer dark. Gods and demons walked among men. To let your guard down for a moment meant death. This is the era of vice & viscera."

The Lions of Tell Arn

Paid game

Welcome to the Valley of the King Wind back the clock to the bronze-age where civilizations are like points of light in a sea of darkness and danger. In a remote region of Lost Hyrkossia lies Kurran of the Spear, a rare place of safety with secure wall. A caravan stop ruled by the immortal King Ataxes. Kuhran is archaic, peripheral, and liminal. You are wanderers, exiles or thieves. Desperate, Curious, and Portentous. Heralds of great change. Intrigue abounds inside the great stone tower of Akros. The dead stir in the Necropolis. And the Lions. Yes, the Lions roam the countryside once more, threatening all in the region. This adventure is a region set in Bronze Age Arabia. The burial-mound of Tell Arn lays 13 miles south and is an existential threat that can not be ignored. Adventurers sometimes need breaks from dungeons, however. So there is a city to explore, intrigue to investigate, and a necropolis hovering over the city on one of its three tells. The adventure should enable all players to reach Name level (9+) if they stick with it. I hope you are intrigued by an interesting, more archaic setting than the typical fantasy world and join me in telling the story of Tell Arn and the city of Kuhran of the Spear. Cost: 25$ per session Setting: Lost Hyrkossia Starting Level: Level 1 Tone: Dungeon & City Crawl System: OSE (D&D B/X) Time: Weekly; 1600 EST (1500 PST)
