Hi! I am a very experienced player/GM that's been in the TTRPG scene for 12 years now, going through a number of systems and always learning more. I have a heavy focus on the role playing part of the game that still enjoys combat, especially trying to make silly or gimmicky combat styles work. I prefer a more serious tone of game with jokes made by the players rather than everything being a joke from the outset, but I do love having a few good laughs a session (without going too off track). I've both DM'd and played for most of the games listed in my experience and most of then for more than a year apiece, but I'm always willing to learn more and generally prefer a rullings over rules approach that lets players and GMs be a bit more out of the box with their thinking and improv-ing

Hi, I'm an adult in San Diego, CA looking to find like minded folks to play table top games with. I'm not locked into a system - people, vibes, and having a good time mean more to me than mechanics. Open to in-person or online gaming. I have kids, so working around family schedule is a consideration. Generally, I lean to more narrative gaming than combat oriented. A combat map + hours to resolve combat is a turn off to me. Greetings adventurers! I'm Dan, I'm a ttrpg player and game master looking for more opportunities to enjoy stories with good folks! My main focus in any game (as either gm or player) is the collaborative storytelling experience. It's the single most important part of the experience to me. To that end, I find that the details of that experience changes depending on the system that is being used. If combat is a core part of that system (like in dnd) I expect there to be some combat. Right now I am most interested in heroic fantasy stories and gravitate towards games and systems in that genre (Daggerheart, DnD, PF2E, etc) but I am open minded and in general interested in branching out to new systems. As a father of 3 and a husband, my hard lines are no sexual violence and no violence to children. I am also not interested in my character being involved in romance with either pcs or npcs. Hi everyone! I'm a literature and RPG nerd who works as a teacher during the day and studies history and Nordic languages on the side. I have a small makerspace at home where my 3D printers hum along daily. As an arts and crafts teacher, I make a lot of different things day-to-day and always try to stay creative. I've DM'ed for a few years, but got a bit burned out on it, so we'll see if I run a game again sometime in the future. Right now, I'd really just love to be a player if anyone needs one. 57 male. Looking for one shots to start so that I can get acclimated to the rules, but eventually would like to find a long term campaign with a long term group. I prefer role-play heavy over mechanics, though I'd prefer to play in a well-defined system, whether by the book or homebrew. Not interested in disorganized or make it up as you go systems. Once I am comfortable with a given system, I'd be happy to take turns as GM/DM. I'm open to all sorts of groups and players. Sexual orientation, gender identity, race, etc., don't matter to me as much as a good group of like-minded individuals. If it matters to you, I am a cis hetero male, atheist, liberal, but what does that have to do with a role playing game, anyway? Real life personalities/preferences are best left at the door. Age of group members is not as important as maturity. It's fun to be silly on occasion, but I don't enjoy it as a regular modus operandi. Prefer adventure-driven campaigns that focus on questing and discovery. Prefer fantasy/swords and sorcery systems, but willing to explore other systems if the group is right. Not interested in war games, but open to the occasional board game night as a change of pace. My availability for the time being is mostly Wednesday evenings, Friday evenings, and pretty much any time on the weekends as part of a regular schedule or with a few days' notice. I’ve been gaming a long time. By 15 (in 1995) I was a Games Rep, running demos at conventions. I love TTRPGs, whether player or GM. I just want a table that actually plays. System-wise, I like indie and old-school games, with enough crunch that every character and build feels mechanically unique and satisfying. That said, I’ll play narrative systems too. I care less about the label and more about whether the game does what it claims it does. Tone-wise, I think the best games have a healthy mix of insane hilarity, fantastical impossibility, and the horrors of reality. Just enough to make it feel real before it gets unreal. If it’s all comedy, it’s weightless. If it’s all grim, it’s depressing. I want the mix, on purpose. I’m a professional fiction writer with decades of experience. At the table, this means good improvisation skills and idea generation, as well as a good sense of story hooks and structure. If you’re creative and you communicate, we’ll get on great! Hey! I'm Wren, I'm a pretty experienced TTRPG player who unfortunately had to leave my previous games when I moved abroad for university, so I'm looking for some new ones. I'm studying Linguistics and Anthropology, I speak 7 languages (EN, NL, FR, CSB, DE, JP, LA) and I love cooking/baking, reading, hiking and playing the flute. I tend to like more social-based, political, mysterious and investigative campaigns with more of a focus on roleplay and developing interesting and interactive relationships with NPCs and PCs alike. As someone who's done theatre and improv since I was a child, I'm very comfortable inhabiting lots of different characters and archetypes and I never play just one sort of personality type. Taking centre stage and thinking on my feet come very naturally to me too, and I always make sure to keep roleplay grounded in the setting and context. I prefer to play a supporting role in terms of combat though, as I love seeing the combined actions of myself and my party members form something greater than the sum of its parts. Teamwork is really cool :D Also I'm queer, not really into labels but my pronouns are they/them.

Vancouver, BC based forever GM Marty here - I run two weekly GURPS games in a homebrewed 1920s Cthulhu-esque Horror world, so if any Vancouverites are looking for in-person play and can consistently be available weekday evenings I may have a seat at the table for you. Having just retired though, I'm looking to add more gaming goodness to my life - maybe even get to actually play rather than GM! So I'm open to both local in-person and alternate timezone Online groups that equate to mornings/afternoons in PST - e.g. GMT 4pm-midnight-ish. I've been playing since Red Box days, but I found myself just not loving the core concept of D&D in any of its editions - Munchkin scratches any rare itch to kill things and take their stuff! Actual ROLE-playing rather than ROLL-playing is what makes is fun for me - conflict yes, but not necessarily much violence. Investigative games with lots of in-character social skill use are my jam - I've been playing Call of Cthulhu since the 80s, more recently Brindlewood Bay was an absolute joy to discover, and I'm trying out other PbtA games in hopes of finding a similar sort of vibe. On the more traditional Fantasy side of things, I like The One Ring - the Mirkwood campaign especially - mostly because of the 'off camera' between-adventure parts where your PCs really feel part of a community, and Earthdawn (the whole Kaer/Horrors angle gives a strong in-game rationale for dungeon crawls, and ED was doing 'orcs and trolls are just people' literally decades before the Critical Role crew brought that angle into mainstream D&D circles). In general I run Adult but not Smutty games - if they were movies they'd be mostly PG rated, with the odd 15-18 scene: scary, angsty stuff happens, if there's violence I describe it viscerally, cursing is pretty common, but the curtain gets drawn as soon as things get more romantic than would be acceptable in a public place. I have no problem dialling back the limits all the way to G-rated levels though - I've run games of Toon for elementary schoolkids and several 'cosy mystery' style games where the only saucy things that happen involve a stovetop ;-)

I’ve spent the last few years in D&D 5e and I’m eager to learn a new system—specifically Cyberpunk RED/2020, Vampire: The Masquerade, or Call of Cthulhu. I enjoy an equal split of roleplay/character development and combat. I'm not interested in paid games. Availability: Sundays, 12:00 PM – 5:30 PM EST. Note on Flexibility: I am active-duty military with an upcoming move. The timeline is a bit shakey due to my orders/departure/report dates being held up by the processes my gaining unit requires. I’m looking for a group comfortable with me potentially stepping away for a bit while I transition. I’m happy to work with the GM to narratively "park," write out, or even kill off my character to keep the story moving, with the hope of rejoining once I’m settled. Hello! I am a 39 year old guy, [GMT +01:00], interested in TTRPGs. I mostly focus on the exploration, investigation and problem solving aspects of the hobby, but I will also try to adapt to other styles when needed. I prefer a lighthearted game (with a few well aimed dramatic moments), over an all serious one. I was a GM most of the time, told the Lost Mines of Phandelver campaign, several official CoC stories, and also made a few one-shots on my own, sometimes with hidden agendas. I should also add that my spoken English is slightly rusty, with a heavy accent. I am looking for non-pay sessions, this game is better without monetary pressure. I like relaxed games, where both mechanical and storywise issues are solved patiently. I love scifi and modern day genres!
