Serpents Skull Book 1 5E Conversion
I'll be running a standalone 5E conversion of book 1 of Pathfinders Serpent's Skull campaign in roughly 6 weeks, and am looking for two more players to join the campaign. I'm in my late thirties and an experienced DM with 15+ years behind me.
Serpent's Skull is a Pathfinder campaign, and as such, we'll purely be using the 5E system for mechanics/gameplay. World lore, locations, deities etc will all be Pathfinder related, so knowledge of the Pathfinder setting is preferred, but anyone interested in learning about and eager to throw themselves into the setting will be equally considered.
Who this game is for:
- Serious and passionate players who can commit to the full campaign length (roughly a year)
- Reliable players who will turn up every session: This is a campaign which requires everyone to be present, so any players unable to attend means the campaign will need to be put on hold until the next session. If you can't make the odd session, please just give me as much notice as possible in advance, to not let myself and the rest of the players down. Emergencies happen, so I understand there may be times where this isn't possible.
- High effort roleplayers with fun and interesting character concepts.
- People who have never played this Adventure before.
- People who are happy to talk about the game between sessions (if necessary).
- People who prefer lasting friendships & don't just immediately leave after the game is over. As a group, we like to chill for about 10 minutes before games, and usually have a little chat once the game has ended.
We're currently on British Summer Time in the UK, which is GMT+1, so this is likely more suited to those of you in the UK and European regions. The actual time of play is to be decided as a group, but my sessions run for 3-4 hours, and I'm aiming for fortnightly day play on either a Saturday or Sunday.
To build a character for this adventure, you'll need to read the Serpent's Skull Player's Guide, and while it doesn't list every Race, Class and Archetype, it'll give you a really good feel for the adventure, which starts on a Merchant Vessel headed for the Mwangi Expanse.
Character concepts should mostly favour adventurers, explorers, pirates & swashbuckler's. Several of the starting ports are in the Shackles - the pirate region of Golarion, though you could have boarded in Varisia or any other place listed in the player's guide.
I'm recruiting in advance as I'll need time to convert your character ideas from Pathfinder to 5E. That said, this is a unique opportunity to create concepts you wouldn't normally have the chance to play, as I'm more than happy to create custom subclasses based on interesting concepts.
