Setup Hey y'all, I'm looking for four players to join a homebrew 5e campaign I'm starting on Saturday, August 22 at 4pm CST. I'm looking to start the game on a biweekly cadence with flexibility according to everyone's schedules. We'll be using Foundry for our VTT and Discord for voice chat. Beginners are welcome, as are members of the LGBTQ+ community. 18+ only. If you're interested in joining the campaign, please respond in a comment or a DM with the following info: - Years of experience with 5e, or with tabletop - Order of preference for: a) combat, b) exploration, c) roleplay Expectations Saturday the 22nd will be a Session 0 where I'll dive into more detail with everything I mention in this section. That being said: - Plan on sticking to character creation choices available in WoTC source material - Preconceived character ideas are welcome - just try to keep details vague until session 0 so we can ground your character in the world - Zero tolerance for the following:     - Hate of any kind towards players or GM     - NSFW roleplay. I generally stick to a "fade to black" approach on the details of romances     - PvP or griefing - Groundless or unwarranted party conflict is not welcome, regardless of your alignment. This does not mean you aren't allowed to disagree in a moral dilemma. It means that you shouldn't assassinate the quest-giving NPC because you wrote your character is compelled to fulfill a blood oath to a reality-warping demon god. This isn't a single player game. - I do expect voice chat and encourage dialogue-driven roleplay as opposed to narrator-style roleplay e.g. Can Sally Saddleback hear me? "Eat an owlbear's dick for all I care" instead of My character tells off Sally Saddleback - I'm a 5e boomer, meaning I know 2014 like the back of my hand and I know less about 2024. I'm not banning 2024 content, I just ask for patience with mechanics that might be more obscure to me. - I do my best to set the stage for a story that we all share in and have fun with. So while I do tend towards a darker, more serious tone and incorporate a good amount of horror in my campaigns, this isn't to say that humor and laughter is banned. Just please be cognizant of the narrative vibe at any given point in time. - Though this has been referenced in other points, I always like to explicitly say that I avoid sexual content as a GM. Also, since I do incorporate a good deal of darker themes and horror elements, I ask players to please share triggers that I should avoid. I will do everything in my power to accommodate reasonable requests The Campaign Though their toil saw to the construction of towering spires and awe-inspiring cathedrals, the Ungifted groan under the thumb of society. Rumor has it an insidious plague creeps upon those both literally and figuratively at the fringes of society across Onaros. And all the while, the young scion of a noble House of the Idrytis Arcanum has gone missing. You could have gone about your business, but something prompted you to do something when you saw the notice offering a reward for information on a young man dressed too well to be staying at Grey Hook Hall. You only saw him in passing, but you ought to do the right thing and help a family looking for their missing son, right? Or maybe what caught your eye was the 500 gold reward, but still! Thanks for reading this far. I look forward to getting this campaign started and wish y'all the best of luck both in and out of game.

Playtest Playtest
"Sang root tea! Warm right up with genuine sang root tea, harvested fresh from the frontier!" A weathered man in an equally weathered duster raps a knuckle on a dome-shaped contraption. It springs to life, as if jolted from deep slumber, skating precariously at the edge of his cart as steam pours out from an exhaust pipe protruding from the rear. A man in a pinstriped tailcoat and black bowler hat approaches the cart, waving his hand and pulling a billfold out of an inner pocket. The transaction-to-be pauses suddenly as the entire street darkens under a massive shape passing overhead. A brief, shared moment of wonder stops the citygoers in their tracks as a colossal spheroid airship coasts regally over the city, leaving white plumes of steam in its wake. Welcome to the streets of Newgoode, the heart of commerce in the Umbersun Commonwealth, and home of Newgoode College. Your story begins with the arrest of Alva VanOstrand, head of the VanOstrand family and president of the Clearband Company, the premier brand for food and drink across the Commonwealth. Make your mark in the streets of the greatest city in Auropa be you friend, family, or adversary of the VanOstrand family. Hi everyone, and thank you for reading this far. I'm Daniel, also known as kimchigrub, and I'm inviting you to join in a playtest campaign for an independent tabletop RPG called Chrysopoeia. The game takes place in Auropa, a world inspired by a 19th century steampunk aesthetic with alchemy as the progenitor of magic and technology. I've been developing the game for the better part of 10 years with the goal of testing the limits of player agency in a tabletop with features including: - a dynamic, stamina-based action economy - open ended classless progression - alchemy-inspired magic complete with custom spellcasting - robust dice pool system for checks and attack rolls, and a lot more. The Player's Guide is ready for early-stage playtesting, but is a work in progress with continued expansions planned and on the way. Whether you're a veteran DM, or if you've only rolled dice for Monopoly, all are welcome to join the playtest as players or as GMs. I appreciate any amount of interest you have and I hope to hear from you!
