Mutants and Masterminds 3rd Edition (2010)

English
Complex
Mutants & Masterminds is a superhero role-playing game written by Steve Kenson and published by Green Ronin Publishing. The current 3rd Edition, which also serves as the engine for the DC Adventures game, was released in 2010. It is highly flexible, point buy system that allows players to build any superpower they can come up with, from classic caped crusaders and vigilantes to cosmic entities and mystical sorcerers. Description Mutants & Masterminds' game mechanics use a highly modified version of the d20 System. All characters in this game, from heroes and villains to the average person on the street, are defined by eight abilities, basic traits each character has to a greater or lesser extent. Abilities tell you how strong, smart, and aware a character is, among other things. The abilities are: Strength, Stamina, Agility, Dexterity, Fighting, Intellect, Awareness, and Presence

Modern AGE

English
Sci-fi
Modern AGE is a genre-toolkit tabletop roleplaying game covering everything from the Industrial Revolution to the near future, published by Green Ronin Publishing in 2018 and designed by a team credited as Matthew Dawkins, Meghan Fitzgerald, Sian Ingham, Steve Kenson, Alejandro Melchor, Chris Pramas, and Malcolm Sheppard. Rather than shipping with a fixed setting, it hands a table the rules to build gritty two-fisted action, pulp adventure, urban fantasy, or a dystopian near-future campaign from the same core book. The system is built on the Adventure Game Engine (AGE), the same engine Green Ronin uses for Dragon Age, Fantasy AGE, and Blue Rose, built here as a fully classless implementation rather than the class-based approach those other lines use. Description Characters are built from backgrounds and life experience rather than a class list, advancing across 20 levels while a table decides for itself what kind of modern-ish game they're actually playing - a two-fisted pulp game, a grounded action thriller, an urban fantasy campaign with magic running underneath the modern world, or something further out toward science fiction.  The Game Master leans on the same optional Arcane and Psychic Power rules whether they're running secret agents, monster hunters, or conspiracy investigators, turning them on only for the campaigns that need them. It's built to be picked up by a group who already knows roughly what modern-day game they want to run and just needs a flexible, classless chassis to build it on, rather than a game with a setting of its own to sell.

The Fifth Season

English
Sci-fi
The Fifth Season Roleplaying game is designed for you to play out adventures and stories set in the world described in the Broken Earth trilogy of novels by N.K. Jemisin—a world where constant and unstable tectonic and volcanic activity threaten all life; a world whose peoples have learned to adapt in order to survive. It is a world where everyone learns that Father Earth hates his children and is always trying to kill them, where metal rusts and even stone crumbles, and the best you can do is be prepared for the next disaster. In the world of the Broken Earth, community— the comm—is everything, because in community there is support and a chance to persevere.

Fantasy AGE

High-Fantasy
English
Fantasy AGE is a tabletop roleplaying game of class-based sword-and-sorcery adventure, designed by Chris Pramas and published by Green Ronin Publishing. It first released as the Fantasy AGE Basic Rulebook in 2015, adapting the Adventure Game Engine (AGE) that Pramas built for the Dragon Age Roleplaying Game into a standalone, setting-neutral fantasy toolkit rather than a licensed tie-in. A second edition followed in February 2023, staying roughly 90% compatible with the original while folding in years of supplement material and adding two new subsystems, Peril and Daring. The system is built on the Adventure Game Engine (AGE), the same engine Green Ronin uses for Dragon Age, Modern AGE, and Blue Rose. Description Players build adventurers from one of four classes - Envoy, Mage, Rogue, or Warrior, covering the social, magical, sneaky, and fighty corners of a party respectively - and one of nine Ancestries (Draak, Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, Goblin, Halfling, Human, Orc, or Wildfolk), a term Green Ronin adopted across its AGE games to sidestep the baggage "race" carries in older fantasy RPGs. The Game Master (GM) runs a setting of the table's own choosing rather than a fixed world. Fantasy AGE was built from the start as a toolkit for running any sword-and-sorcery campaign rather than one specific IP. Sessions lean on the AGE system's stunt-heavy combat to keep fights fast and cinematic, while the optional Peril and Daring systems ask a table to decide up front how much extra swing they want between a party's best and worst moments.

ICONS Superpowered Roleplaying

English
Rules-light
ICONS Superpowered Roleplaying is a superhero tabletop roleplaying game designed by Steve Kenson, who is also the original designer of Mutants & Masterminds. The first edition was published in 2010. In September 2012, Kenson's new publisher Ad Infinitum Adventures acquired the game from Adamant Entertainment, which said it could not give it enough focus. The Assembled Edition, a revised and expanded core book published under Kenson's Ad Infinitum Adventures banner and printed and distributed by Green Ronin Publishing in 2014, is a 224-page full-colour hardback with art and layout by Dan Houser and Daniel Solis. It combines material from earlier adventures and sourcebooks such as Villainomicon and Team-Up and is described as the most complete rule set for the game yet. Description Players take on superheroes, and the Game Master (GM) runs adventures with villains, teams and whole universes, which the book gives tools to create. Heroes can be made from a few die rolls, with abilities described by numbers or by adjectives, and sample heroes and villains are included. Out-of-combat time is organised into chapters, issues and series, as in a comic. The game asks a table to use the fiction. Qualities, the descriptive phrases on a character, are invoked by players and the GM, and optional rules for stunts, retcons and pyramid tests call for improvisation more than book-keeping. A reviewer thought the power spread is narrow, so it may not show clear jumps from street-level heroes to cosmic threats, and that the artwork and tone are kid-friendly. It suits groups who want a fast, light superhero game, and it is less suited to groups who want a fine-grained power system.
