Description

using dnd 5e 2014 A homebrew setting with some homebrew-related features. game will be run sundays around 5pm EST
Set in a high fantasy world where, contrary to the forgotten realm's lore, Giants and Dragons never waged war against one another, and thus were never reduced to a shadow of their former selves; and where humanoid races were guided by powerful magical creatures, being granted a continent of their own to rule by the name of Lynn. Planar powers have a strong presence in the world as they fight for dominancy of the spiritual world of the ethereal plane, or as they try to form cults or spiritual followings to gain power over others. High-level magic is rare in humanoid hands in the prime material but can be found in many forms or in magical items. Ages ago, the world was created by a giant and dragon god whose children inherited it from them. Rules were set, and empires were formed. No major conflicts would lead to disaster, as they each had lands to call their own. Once, the humanoid races appeared across the planet, suddenly with no written history by any race as to how they even came to be, no gods or other powerful being claimed their creation, leading to the greater magical beings to guide the races they found themselves with in their primitive states. Many centuries of guidance with many new humanoid races forming due to planar interactions, the gods granted the humanoids a land of their own, Lynn. The lands of Lynn once were home to the world's humanoid races, who were gifted it by the giant and dragon gods so they may have the ability to rule themselves apart from the giant and dragon races. 60 years prior to the party coming to the lands, a calamity befell the land with 40-foot gates to the elemental planes opening all over the land, each releasing a massive burst of energy relating to the plane they opened to, leading to mass destruction. The elemental plane of fire's gate opened in the center of the capital of the human empire in the center of the continent, leading to its collapse as a wave of fire and explosive force leveled miles around the gate. The nobles who survived escaped to the south coast due to the lack of any deadly gate openings, leading to the creation of the city of Hope. One prime gate exists per plane, which can not be closed by any means, even with the gods' assistance, with many other smaller gates appearing anywhere in the land but never a certain distance from the prime gate.
warning this will be a smaller focused campaign to get my DM mojo back after my break from dming. aiming for at least level 3-8 maybe more if the players want. also using my homebrew for this game. This campaign shall be centered around survivors finding themselves in the shadowfell version of Lynn having few memories with all sharing a memory of the distant sunny sky and a gentle breeze being the main drive of returning to the normal world. Every player will be allowed to choose from an undead race in my homebrew from zombies or wights to name a few. You awaken to find yourselves in a mineshaft in makeshift holding cells of iron with their doors unlocked. Silence fills the mineshafts but in the distance you hear the moans of the dead.
While the setting might be bleak and dark by no means does the players characters. Expect dark tones but not all doom and gloom. Homemade maps created with inkarnate(i do my best) and a updated homebrew doc that i prio players feedback. I am not allowing homebrew classes unless approved but i have a distain for non subclass homebrews. races are up to review. While the game will be centered around the undead filled realm of the shadowfell you may play as a non undead however depending on your choice you might have it rougher. I have a handout with some homebrew races and features you may also select from, including some changes to spells and mechanics, such as a necromancy rework. We will be using a custom point buy system, and during the course of the game, you may find ways to increase stat caps through things such as rituals. Warning. Subjects including slavery and gore/undead will be explored. I'm aiming for a group that is roleplay-centered, and I encourage my players to interact with the world and the people around them. For this reason, I will work with you to create a character that fulfills your roleplay themes, be it planar law bringers to even, but not limited to, Demongolists, Fey creatures/servants of Fey, Trogyldtes, or elementalist. New players are welcome. you must be 18 or older to apply.(i dont ask for ID just an honor system. The party will be starting at 3rd level, and the following levels will be gained via milestones. You also get a free starting feat, and multiclassing will not be allowed. Elves do not exist in this world We will be using Discord for voice, no use of D&D Beyond, and all sheets, as well as battle maps, will be hosted on Roll20. AI isn't allowed for any character creation process(art is allowed) Aiming to create a hangout space for people to play games and chat outside of game time.

Looking for 2 players for an in-person D&D group

Hey everyone! 🎲 We’re looking for 2 more people, ages 18–30, to join a new in-person D&D campaign around Lakewood/Denver. We already have 2 players and we’re really hoping to find people who want more than just showing up for D&D. We’d love to build an actual friend group where we can also play board games, grab food, hang out, etc. So definitely friends first, D&D players second. The campaign is a long-term homebrew world called Soleil: 500 years ago, the Sun stopped moving. Civilization now survives in a narrow band of eternal twilight between a blazing desert and a frozen darkness. On the 500th anniversary of a massive yearly ceremony, four travelers leave the safety of The Line to discover what lies beyond the walls. It’ll be a mix of mystery, exploration, roleplay, combat, giant titan monsters, emotional story moments, and weird discoveries. ✨ We’re thinking: • In person around Lakewood/Denver • About every other week • Long-term campaign • D&D 2024 rules • Beginners welcome • We’d probably do a casual hangout or board game night first just to make sure everyone vibes before committing • Your character will have deep secret and background link to the world ! If you’re interested, send me a message and tell me a little about yourself, what you like about D&D, and what other games or hobbies you’re into!

I wasn't finding enough games to join that had everything I needed and that would also get back to me. So, I decided I'd try to find the right people for me this way! Hello, I am Grill! I am a silly gal and you can find some basic info about me in my player profile ^^ I am not the GM, and I am willing to let the future GM have full creative freedom for the story. All I ask is that the campaign we do be suitable for both teens and adults. And please let me be able to be silly and whimsical! Perhaps a fairy!!! Homebrew is very much allowed!

[5e 2014] DM Looking for 5 Premade Players — 3-Month Sunday Campaign Hey everyone! I'm a longtime online DM with a homebrew campaign that I'm really excited to run. The campaign is designed for 5 players and will run for approximately 3 months on Sunday mornings. The catch: I'm specifically looking for a premade group of 5 players who already know and have played with each other for more than a few sessions. I'm looking to give another DM a break for a few months by running their group through my campaign. Each player would play their own PC during the sessions. You'll need access to Foundry VTT and Discord. The Setting The campaign takes place in Sanctuary, a massive underground dystopian city built from the remnants of a dying world. The surface is nearly dead. An enormous creature from beyond this world has been slowly feeding on the life of the planet. The land is becoming a wasteland, earthquakes tear through what remains, and civilization has collapsed across much of the world. Only a handful of powerful cities remain. Sanctuary is one of them. Home to powerful wizards, ancient magic, wealthy merchants, and dangerous guilds, the city should be humanity's greatest hope for survival. Instead, its wizards are too busy fighting over power, politics, and their own interests to deal with the world dying around them. The Fae Queens are barely holding the last remnants of life together. The surface is dying. The city is cracking. And something is coming. Campaign Tone The campaign is heavily inspired by: Dragon Age Warhammer: Age of Sigmar The Witcher Dark Souls Forgotten Realms He Who Fights with Monsters Brandon Sanderson It's a mix of dark fantasy, exploration, large-scale battles, political conflict, strange magic, and player-driven choices. Your decisions can have lasting consequences on the city, its people, and the factions within it. Game Rules D&D 5e 2014 Mostly standard rules Most official 2014 content is allowed Tasha's Cauldron of Everything is generally allowed Very few house-rule adjustments Homebrew content is available for the setting, including some homebrew classes Character creation will be discussed with the group before play Game Requirements Foundry VTT installed on your PC Discord installed on your PC A good-quality microphone Ability to communicate clearly through Discord A reasonably quiet playing environment Reliable attendance Schedule Sundays: 8:15 AM – 11:15 AM CST There will be a 15-minute break in the middle of the session. The campaign is expected to run for approximately 3 months. What I'm Looking For I'm specifically looking for 5 players who already play together and have good chemistry as a group. You don't need to be professional roleplayers or hardcore D&D veterans. I'm mainly looking for a group that: Gets along well Works together Enjoys roleplay Is comfortable communicating over Discord Shows up consistently Wants to experience a campaign where their choices actually matter If your regular DM wants a break for a few months, this might be a good fit. If you're interested, send me a Reddit DM with a little information about your group: How long you've been playing together How many players are in the group Your general D&D experience Confirmation that Sunday 8:15–11:15 AM CST works for everyone A little about what your group enjoys most about D&D The Hook The world is dying. The surface has become a wasteland. Something from beyond this world has been feeding on the life of the planet, and the civilizations that once stood against it are mostly gone. What remains survives beneath the earth. Sanctuary is one of the last great cities of the mortal realm — a massive underground civilization built by people who fled the dying surface. It is a city of powerful wizards, ancient magic, wealthy merchants, dangerous guilds, and ordinary people simply trying to survive. But Sanctuary has a problem. The wizards who rule the city are too busy fighting over power, politics, research, and old grudges to agree on what should be done about the world outside. Meanwhile, the surface continues to die. You aren't a legendary hero. Not yet, anyway. You're an adventurer who needs gold. Fortunately, there's always work for people willing to risk their lives. The Retrievers Guild specializes in recovering magical artifacts, lost knowledge, and valuable resources from places no sane person would willingly visit. You've spent weeks looking for work. Today, you finally get a contract. A surface expedition. Good pay. Valuable discoveries. A chance to make a name for yourselves. Your group arrives at the Retrievers Guild warehouse. Hundreds of adventurers are preparing for the expedition. Wagons are being loaded. Weapons are being checked. Spells are being prepared. Your contract seems simple: Protect the expedition. Protect each other. Bring back what you find. But the surface has secrets. The Drow are moving. The Fae are dying. Something is hunting the survivors of the old world. And the deeper you get into the ruins of what came before, the more obvious it becomes that this expedition isn't just about treasure. The world is dying. Sanctuary is running out of time. And eventually, you'll have to decide what you're willing to do about it. Will you protect Sanctuary? Change it? Or burn it down and build something better? That choice belongs to you.
