Hi! I am looking for 1–6 players for an ongoing homebrew D&D 5e campaign called The Dawnstriders Guild.
The party has created an adventuring guild called The Dawnstriders, and the campaign focuses on guild life, quests, exploration, reputation-building, character moments, dangerous jobs, and the consequences of player choices.
This is not mainly a “chosen heroes must immediately save the world” campaign. It is more about adventurers building something together and seeing where the road takes them.
The current party is around level 3. I use milestone leveling, and because of how the campaign works, it is not guaranteed that every character will always be exactly the same level.
Homebrew Documents
I have a lot of written documents for the setting, including things like allowed playable races, nations, gods, world lore, house rules, and other campaign information.
You do not need to read or memorize everything before joining. The documents are there to help players who want more detail, to answer character creation questions, and to make the homebrew world easier to understand over time.
Schedule
We usually play biweekly, and sessions are normally 5+ hours.
I am in Sweden, so times are based on Swedish time:
CET / UTC+1 during winter
CEST / UTC+2 during summer
The exact day is chosen by poll. Players usually vote between options on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, often starting around 1:00 PM Swedish time.
A Guild Campaign session is usually doable as long as at least 4 people vote for that session.
You can request that we start later, but please mention it as soon as possible, preferably two or more days before the session.
For Guild Campaign days, it may also be possible to arrive up to two hours early or leave up to one hour early, but please mention it ahead of time, preferably at least one day before the session.
Platform
We use Roll20 for the game and Discord for voice.
The Discord server is a large YouTuber’s server where I am an admin. The server itself is big, but you do not need to interact with the wider server if you do not want to. You only need to use the relevant campaign areas and voice chat.
Table Expectations
This is an LGBTQ+ friendly table. I am an ally, and I do not allow real-life bigotry at the table.
In-world prejudice and conflict may exist in limited ways, but I try to keep it minimal and not make it a major focus. The goal is for the real people at the table to feel respected and comfortable.
I am looking for players who are friendly, communicative, respectful, and willing to work with the group. You do not need to already know the other party members or connect your character to them before joining.
Campaign Tone
The Guild Campaign is generally flexible and adventuring-focused. Expect a mix of:
Roleplay
Exploration
Quests
Combat
Guild development
Homebrew lore
Character choices mattering
Some danger and consequences
There is also a separate Ships Campaign, which is higher-tier, harsher, and more serious. New players would be joining The Dawnstriders Guild first. After you have been in the guild for a while and gotten to know the group, joining the Ships Campaign may become possible if it seems like a good fit.
AI Token Note
A number of NPC tokens and some player character tokens may have been made using AI image tools.
I want to be transparent about this. I am not using AI because I think artists are unimportant. Quite the opposite: I believe real artists deserve to be paid fairly for their work. I simply do not have the artistic ability to make all the tokens myself, and I do not currently have the money to pay artists for the amount of art a long-running homebrew campaign can require.
Players are welcome to provide their own character art or token, including commissioned art, self-made art, free-use art, public domain art, or other art they have permission to use.
The Gods of the Setting
The world has Nine Gods, and they are the only true gods of the setting. Most people worship them in some way, though some are more devoted to one than the others.
Lezias — God of light and dark, justice and crime, truth and lies, mercy and judgment. He is tied to courts, law, balance, redemption, and punishment.
Voysus — God of smithing, cities, community, protection, construction, craftsmanship, invention, hearths, and contracts. He is honored by builders, smiths, inventors, city folk, and protectors.
Toesis — God of earth, shadow, twilight, storms, peace, marriage, metals, wanderers, exiles, secrecy, hidden places, and forgotten things. He is strange, unpredictable, and deeply tied to travel and the unknown.
Briona — Goddess of knowledge, strength, order, law, trade, alchemy, oaths, secrets, dreams, stories, memory, writing, teaching, logic, and debate. She is revered by scholars, lawkeepers, teachers, scribes, and those who seek mastery.
Araura — Goddess of magic, stars, travel, rain, sun, autumn, luck, fate, and navigation. She is closely tied to spellcasters, travelers, weather, dreams, and the arcane.
Rosrena — Goddess of chaos, nature, life, spring, trickery, mischief, birth, food, festivals, wilderness, and beasts. She is joyful and nurturing, but not harmless.
Zurona — Goddess of death, wealth, water, fire, undeath, judgment of souls, and the afterlife. She is feared and respected, and most people pray to her at funerals or when death feels near.
Emera — Goddess of love, war, beauty, home, blood, art, passion, jealousy, glory, honor, courtship, and seduction. Soldiers, lovers, artists, and those driven by passion often pray to her.
Eton — God of destruction, the hunt, creation, winter, survival, endurance, and the moon. He is harsh, primal, and tied to cold, predators, ruin, strength, and survival.
Resurrection
Resurrection exists, but it is not automatic.
When someone tries to bring a dead character back, it is treated as a petition to the gods, not just a simple spell effect. A resurrection attempt involves a roll with a high DC. The DC can be lowered by meaningful deeds, words, offerings, roleplay, or other things that make sense in the moment.
If the character has been dead for less than about one minute, the resurrection is usually still under Zurona’s judgment.
If the soul has already been judged and passed onward, the petition may instead go to whichever god has claim over that soul. At the beginning of the ritual, there may be a clue, such as a smell, sound, or other sign, hinting at which god is being petitioned.
The basic idea is: resurrection is possible, but it is serious, uncertain, and tied to the gods.
