D&D 5E - Beginner's

Looking to run a Fantasy game in the world of Faerun shaped by the players joining, deeply connecting the player backstories towards the overall setting and narrative! The journey shall begin in the Sword Coast, a place brimming with opportunity for those sharp enough to spot it, or for those opportunistic enough to steal it! Adventure lurks behind every isle that spreads across the deep oceanic expanse, a whisper inside every tavern foretelling the coming of doom, and monstrous noises can often be heeded from outside the sanctuaries of human settlements... And most important of all... Treasure can be found in the most dangerous of places, and danger is everywhere!    The BBEG and forces of evil will be directly linked to the players, leading to an exciting as well as personal experience tailor made for those looking for deep stories full of intrigue, emotional moments of triumph, as well as the good running joke that unites everyone together!  Will you be an escaped drow from Menzoberranzan, searching for refuge and a place to call home among compainions. A ruthless assassin from Waterdeep, a tongue as silver as the thin daggers you weild to great effect. A city guard from Baldurs Gate that wishes to explore the greater world, not letting the titanic walls confine your adventuerer spirit any longer! The world is open and excepting of adventuerers from all backgrounds and walks of life!  For those interested in joining share a potential player character you would like to bring life to! An open-world sandbox style campaign focused on gaining power through financial, political and military strength. The party will start at level one(with a few minor enhancements) and pursue local influence and gathering funds. Will you choose to purchase gear and lean into completing bounties or search for treasure among the ruins? Will you invest in a local restaurant and gather rare monster parts for fancy expensive dishes? Will you delve into small town intrigue and increase your fame through quests and manipulation?  I will likely run a one or two session intro where the party is restricted to a small town and must complete their assigned quest. If the group is happy with the world and we all want to continue, we can make any necessary adjustments and open the world up to a much larger mapped area. At that point, the group will be able to explore and jump into quests, bounties, dungeons, etc. If you can pay, you can hire contractors to build, mercenaries to fight, mages to scry. Kill and steal if you like, but beware that unplanned murder and theft can be risky, and the authorities are scary.  This campaign is set in a fairly basic fantasy type world with its own history. You can read the lore dump if you like, but it won't be necessary to play. Magic works as you would expect, deities exist, and whatever else your character might depend on won't be mysteriously absent. This campaign is designed around supporting YOUR fun adventures, and the world is there to facilitate that.  - I am aiming for 3-4 players, games on Saturday nights, and mainly play using voice on Discord and maps on Owlbear.  - There will be graphic violence and people being quite rude to each other.  - Danger is real and your character can die, but that would generally be the result of ignoring clear "are you sure about this?" moments. - Every type of human is welcome, and there will be zero tolerance for shittiness. - Sexual stuff is kept to a minimum.  - If you have anything you would like to be avoided in game(phobias, etc), send me a private message and it won't appear.  Anyone who'd like to join, please check out the application below and respond to any sections you like. Hello and welcome to your first adventure in the world of Dungeons & Dragons! If you want to join a fresh adventure but are not sure where to start, this is the perfect place for you. I am Glacial (gringo), an experienced Dungeon Master with over 12 years of experience running various TTRPGs such as Cyberpunk RED, D&D 5e, D&D 2024 (5.5e), and Daggerheart. Even though I have GMed for many different groups all over the world, my favorite remains Dungeons & Dragons—especially for beginners. I just can't get enough of seeing people discover this game (the best game ever made) for the very first time! I currently host a Discord server with over 40 players, most of whom are currently playing or have played in my games. You are more than welcome to hop in and ask them about the campaigns we've run! The Campaign: A Customized Faerûn Experience Now that the introductions are out of the way, let me present you with my completely customized Faerûn experience! In this game, you will have the chance to be part of a story that revolves fully around your character's lore. I take the well-known world of Abeir-Toril and Faerûn—including iconic locations like Baldur's Gate, Waterdeep, Candlekeep, and Neverwinter—and build a brand-new campaign setting after discussing interests with my players. We could go on an adventure all the way to the Thay Mountains to battle the Red Wizards, venture into the dangerous jungles of Chult to uncover the mysteries of a forgotten land, or stick to the crowded, familiar cities of the Sword Coast where adventures are always abound. What You Need to Jump In The only things you need to do are add me on Discord, have a working microphone, and set up a Roll20 account (which I am happy to help you with). I will explain everything else! I will make sure everyone at the table knows how to play, and I will walk you through character creation step-by-step. You need literally zero experience to join.
