Description

Looking for Players – Grimdark Fantasy Campaign (D&D / Homebrew Setting) (This is 18+) A war-torn world stands on the edge of collapse. The kingdom of Elaria is unraveling under the weight of its own cruelty—slavery spreads through its cities, rebellions rise in the shadows, and entire nations fracture under shifting power. The Emerald Expanse pushes back against oppression, carving out territory through blood and defiance. The dwarven Draken Kingdom struggles to rebuild after a primordial disaster. And somewhere beyond reality itself, the Tower of Trials calls to those strong—or desperate—enough to enter. You are not heroes. Not yet. You are survivors, mercenaries, rebels, or something far worse—thrown into a world where morality is blurred, power is earned, and every choice carries weight. Campaign Themes Grimdark fantasy and sunshine/rainbow (moral ambiguity, heavy consequences) War, rebellion, and political intrigue Exploration of brutal systems (slavery, control, survival) Reality-bending dungeons and high-concept trials Character-driven storytelling with long-term impact What to Expect A living world that reacts to your decisions Multiple factions with conflicting goals High-risk encounters (combat is deadly and meaningful) Opportunities for diplomacy, betrayal, and power-building Unique locations ranging from underground slave markets to reality-warping towers Starting Point Players will begin in or around the conflict zones between major powers, with early hooks including: Rebel operations within hostile territory Infiltration and extraction missions Encounters with unstable magical phenomena Rumors of the Tower of Trials resurfacing Tone & Player Fit This campaign is and isn't lighthearted. It deals with: Dark themes Harsh environments Ethical dilemmas Whimsical fantasy corny jokes and etc Looking for players who: Enjoy immersive roleplay Are comfortable with heavy narrative themes Can engage with serious worldbuilding Want their choices to matter Details System: D&D 5e (heavily homebrewed elements) Party Size: 4–6 players Style: RP-focused with meaningful combat Setting: Custom world (Elaria and surrounding nations) If you have any uncomfortabilities please speak to me the DM to better handle the situation  (this post is now closed until further notice! thank you all who applied)

Militant Exorcism

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Adult
The table is for players who are 18 or over.
Hey hi hello, y'all! My name is Po and I'm looking to play a semi-historic campaign with a little fantasy elements imbued into it! The party is going to be a American military specialist unit that has been brought into the Vietnam war to combat violent and powerful spiritual entities that are attacking soldiers and civilians alike. It's inspired by Jujutsu Kaisen and will be using my own homebrew system I've developed through original techniques and cherry-picking parts I like from others I've seen. It is subject to change as the campaign develops but I'm pretty confident in it so far. You'll be starting at level 3 as you'll all be somewhat experienced soldiers before you've awaken your unique exorcist abilities. We are planning to play on Sundays at 7-10/11 PM EST but that can change if we can find a better date. I'm looking for roughly third players but I wouldn't mind a fourth if I can find one. However, I'm hoping to keep the game 18+ not due to sexual content but more as a personal rule.  So if you're interested submit an application and we can begin discussing it. If I'm willing to go further, we'll move to Discord to conduct an interview.

Cadaver Resurrected (or, the World Without Dying)

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Horror
The game leans into fear, tension and dark themes.
Put the premise of 2023's Oppenheimer into the body-horror genre and add the apocalypse: welcome to this homebrew campaign! Trifling with the afterlife created a world where the dead have nowhere to go, and have nothing to separate them from the living. Desperate to survive, kingdoms across the realm have consolidated into single capitals, each self-sufficiently sustaining whole populations—until resources run low. Enter a character-driven tale teetering along political tensions, espionage, social status, omnipresent threats, and above all, control over your body! For this campaign, I’m looking for a party of 5 to 6 people (8 people maximum) interested in a continental, discovery-focused narrative. Meeting times for sessions will depend on everyone’s availability and pre-existing commitments. Discord will be used for whole-group and direct messaging. Our initial sessions will be for deep-dives into the story and worldbuilding, then for party composition and character creations; personal backstories will be developed separately, though prompts and helpful considerations will be released! This campaign uses Foundry vtt, but no costs or fees are required otherwise. This will be a horror- and dark-fantasy-based campaign that relies heavily on consequence and conflict. Obviously, death has a substantial role in this story, so players should not expect to get comfortable for too long. That said, I’m not a DM too fond of permanently killing off PCs on a whim, so let this be of some comfort! Your characters will enter the campaign through the urban and inner-city settings, where you will get a taste of the apocalyptic, survivalist lifestyle common throughout the realm. The story will begin in one of the six major capitals, each with their own agendas and allegiances and rivalries (all of which I will delineate in our initial sessions). Major themes include espionage and political conflicts (often turning into militaristic endeavors and advances), not to mention the overarching thread of escaping an afterlife spillover! Below are some concepts and terms worth familiarizing your character with: The Recrudescence—the day when the afterlife entered the material plane. The exact date is unknown, but most of the realm learned of the afterlife spillover by the end of the summer season. The Shared Sea—the body of water connecting all parts of the realm. The landmass can be visualized as a giant horseshoe or a ring, the middle of which is all water/ocean (hence, the ‘Shared’ Sea). The Storm—principal and largest (and most feared) cluster of afterlife spirits; most easily depicted as a colossal hurricane bouncing from city to city along the Shared Sea. Wandering Spirits—souls/spirits that once belonged to a deceased creature, now searching for a new host (i.e., the body of a living creature);—includes both the souls within Storm and individual or grouped Displaced. Displaced—wandering spirits not part of the Storm. Displaced spirits and the activity thereof attract other Displaced, hence why people are afraid of drawing any attention. Jumpscares—In the event that a creature dies, other adjacent creatures may undergo a jumpscare, during which their spirits (of the living creatures) eject from their host bodies as if being displaced. Jumpscares do not result from displacement, but rather from the death of a host body. For example, if a character kills one creature in a group, the rest of that group may experience jumpscares and have their spirits ejected. Every living creature has the capacity for one soul (without amalgamating, turning malignant, or ascending). A displaced can steal your body and eject your original soul, which in turn becomes displaced. Finally, wandering spirits cannot linger in place or around the creatures whose bodies they failed to assimilate!  If any of this interests you, visit the interest form below to (a) get a more thorough view of what this campaign seeks and (b) further indicate your interest in this grandiose adventure! - https://forms.gle/xn585Qo94JxRZx6F9

Runial (Homebrew)

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
The campaign takes place on a homebrew world called Runial. The civilizations that inhabit it are: Civils, the alliance of demi humans such as humans, elves, dwarves, gnomes, halflings, orcs, goblins, and any other manner of humanoid beings. Ferals, which are more animal than humanoid, anthropomorphic creatures made up of any animal species you can imagine. Pseudofauna, which are a mix of demi human and some animal trait. Examples of this include holstaur, winged humans, merpeople and so on. They're distrusted by both Civil and Feral societies though are free to dwell within either albeit with some difficulties. Otherworlders, mysterious beings with special powers that are resistant to Runian natives. They can be any Runian race, although none of them arrive with memories of how they came to be. Civilization for the most part on Runial can be compared to the 1800s. The most advanced parts of the world have access to basic amenities such as rudimentary plumbing and electricity. Weaponry has advanced up to single action revolvers and lever action rifles. Runial in recent times has been plagued by a mysterious weather phenomenon known as the Aetherwind, a warm gentle breeze that rises from the ground, bringing with it motes of multicolored orbs of mana that float gently towards the sky. Any living thing caught in the Aetherwind is quickly and horribly mutated, rarely surviving the process. Alongside the appearance of the Aetherwind came the arrival of beings known as Otherworlders, people with special abilities that boast high resistance to attacks from Runian natives, making them difficult to combat without extreme measures. The Aetherwind began at the most northern point of Runial and over time has crept slowly to the south, pushing the Civil races down towards Feral territories. Ferals, in an attempt to retain their lands, have declared a defensive war on Civils to prevent their encroachment and Civils, desperate to escape the Aetherwind, grab what land they can to survive. The Aetherwind can also appear in random pockets anywhere on Runial, making nowhere truly safe. You are an adventurer that has woken up in an alien looking laboratory with no memories of who you once were or what has been done to you. After a narrow escape, you're now looking for answers alongside others that have also escaped the facility. Note: The game has themes of violence and is somewhat dark in nature without becoming too edgy. We are partially on the second act of the campaign and are looking for 1 additional player for a long term commitment. I prefer newer players and don't mind teaching them, but veterans are ok too. My campaign has some homebrew and mixed elements. I DO use generative AI in creation of character images and some tokens in Foundry. I do NOT use AI in any part of my worldbuilding, character creation, or story progression. The session will take place over Discord mostly through text and voice, but for some sequences such as combat Foundry will be used. If this info dump was enough to entice you, feel free to message me!
