Description

Welcome to the Sword Coast. Far from the safety of the great cities, a frontier town known as Thornmere has begun to suffer from strange and terrifying events. Trade routes have become unsafe, travelers vanish along woodland roads, and creatures once thought long gone have begun emerging from the forests surrounding the town. The nearby settlements refuse to intervene, seeing Thornmere’s troubles as a distant problem not worth their soldiers or coin. Left isolated and desperate, the town now seeks capable adventurers willing to uncover what is happening before the situation spirals beyond control. This campaign will be a long-term dark fantasy adventure set on the Sword Coast with a strong focus on roleplay, mystery, exploration, character development, and meaningful choices. The tone leans serious and atmospheric, with the world reacting to player decisions over time. Expect ancient secrets, political tension, dangerous wilderness, hidden truths, and enemies that are not always what they first appear to be. The campaign will begin at Level 3. Before the main campaign starts, I will also be running a one-shot set within the same world and timeline. This will act as both an introduction to the setting and a chance for everyone to see how the group plays together before committing to the full campaign. Campaign Style: • 60/40 RP to Combat • Story and character focused • Beginner friendly if willing to engage • Dark fantasy atmosphere • Long-term campaign • Actions and choices have consequences If you enjoy immersive roleplay, uncovering mysteries, and being part of a world that evolves around your decisions, you’ll likely fit in well. We will use dnd beyond for character sheets and discord for communication. The campaign will be set in dnd 5.5e/5e 2024. Small amounts of homebrew.

D&D "The Sea of Fallen Stars" new players friendly

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
One would think the Sea of Fallen Stars ought to be gentler than wide fathomless expanses of Faeruns oceans. One would be dangerously wrong. Ships inbound for Alaghon are going missing all the time: to be capsized by slavers, boarded by pirates is a comparably lucky fate. Less fortunate crews are gone entirely without trace in hours, only floating splinters left to show their fate. Your crew might not be among the lucky: this night, you are woken up by a loud horrid crack and sound of gushing saltwater, shaken like loose pebbles in Sapphire's hold by some unseen calamity and thrown out into the water, when her hull crumples to pieces. You should have drowned. And yet, when your lungs spasm for oxygen and you gulp in water, it sustains you as well as air. Something has preserved your lives. What, you wander, will it demand in return? System: DnD 5e; Setting: Faerûn / Forgotten Realms; Character Level: 1. Payment: 25$ per person. About the Dungeon master: I'm Julia, a Ukrainian TTRPG GM since 2018, GMing online since 2022. Most campaigns have been played in D&D 5e, and several in Vampire: The Masquerade, Changeling: The Lost, and Blades in the Dark. I prefer character-driven narratives with grittier political subplots, but still with a good amount of combat and shenanigans™ Contact me to register. (This saturday at 12 p.m. (UTC+3))

Faerun for new players

Paid game

Have you wanted to try D&D for a while, but keep thinking: “I don't know the rules.” “I'm probably terrible at roleplaying.” “I don't even know how to make a character.” “Everyone else will know what they're doing except me.” Then you're exactly the kind of player I enjoy introducing to D&D. I'm an experienced DM running weekly online campaigns, and a large number of my current long-term players started with little or zero real D&D experience. You do not need to read the entire Player's Handbook before joining. You don't need to memorize every spell, know how every mechanic works, or come in with a 10-page character backstory. We'll build your character together, I'll explain things as they become relevant, and you'll learn naturally by actually playing the game. And don't worry—beginner-friendly does not mean the campaign is watered down. The dice still matter. Your decisions have consequences. Characters can succeed, fail, get themselves into horrible situations, come up with ridiculous solutions, and completely change where the story goes. My games focus heavily on: • Character development • Roleplay and relationships between characters • Player freedom and creative solutions • Exploration and meaningful decisions • A story that reacts to what the party actually does • Helping new players learn without constantly stopping the game • A consistent weekly campaign rather than playing once every few months One of my current players described the experience like this: “The players have freedom, and no decision ever feels like a wrong one. I keep coming back for the DM, the players, and the characters and stories we've told together.” — Remy / Joffarex You don't have to be an amazing roleplayer when you start either. Quite a few of my players were nervous about roleplaying when they first joined. That confidence usually develops naturally once you become comfortable with your character and the group. GAME DETAILS System: D&D 5e / 2024/2014 rules Campaign: Faerun for new players Format: Online Voice: Discord VTT: Roll20 Session Length: Around 3–4 hours Group Size: Around 5 players Frequency: Once per week Price: Session 0, character creation, and onboarding are free. Regular campaign sessions are $20/player Experience Required: Absolutely none Current Openings: 5 SCHEDULING Wednesday, 8 PM GMT+4 / 12 PM ET my schedule is flexible, so if this time doesn't suit you, we can discuss it over a call THE ADVENTURE This is a long-term campaign set in Faerûn, built specifically for a new group. You’ll start as relatively inexperienced adventurers and gradually become involved in larger conflicts, dangerous factions, strange locations, and stories tied directly to your characters. Expect a mix of roleplay, exploration, combat, mysteries, character backstories, and choices that can genuinely change where the campaign goes. This is not a pre-written railroad where you just follow quest markers—the direction of the story will depend heavily on the party. INTERESTED? Send me a message here first with: Your timezone Your general weekly availability Whether you've played D&D before What kind of character, campaign, or D&D experience sounds fun to you Anything you're nervous or unsure about If it sounds like the game could be a good fit, I'll give you my Discord and we can talk properly there before you commit to anything. I care quite a lot about group chemistry, so I'd rather have five people who genuinely enjoy playing together every week than simply fill seats as quickly as possible. Complete beginners are very welcome.

Looking for 2 players for an in-person D&D group

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Hey everyone! 🎲 We’re looking for 2 more people, ages 18–30, to join a new in-person D&D campaign around Lakewood/Denver. We already have 2 players and we’re really hoping to find people who want more than just showing up for D&D. We’d love to build an actual friend group where we can also play board games, grab food, hang out, etc. So definitely friends first, D&D players second. The campaign is a long-term homebrew world called Soleil: 500 years ago, the Sun stopped moving. Civilization now survives in a narrow band of eternal twilight between a blazing desert and a frozen darkness. On the 500th anniversary of a massive yearly ceremony, four travelers leave the safety of The Line to discover what lies beyond the walls. It’ll be a mix of mystery, exploration, roleplay, combat, giant titan monsters, emotional story moments, and weird discoveries. ✨ We’re thinking: • In person around Lakewood/Denver • About every other week • Long-term campaign • D&D 2024 rules • Beginners welcome • We’d probably do a casual hangout or board game night first just to make sure everyone vibes before committing • Your character will have deep secret and background link to the world ! If you’re interested, send me a message and tell me a little about yourself, what you like about D&D, and what other games or hobbies you’re into!
