Dolmenwood

Overview

Dolmenwood is a fantasy adventure RPG designed by Gavin Norman - also the creator of
Old-School Essentials https://groupfinder.gg/library/old-school-essentials
- published by his studio Necrotic Gnome in partnership with Exalted Funeral Press, following a hugely successful Kickstarter that launched in August 2023.  It's built on a streamlined, customized version of the Old-School Essentials rules, but stands as its own complete game rather than a supplement, growing out of Norman's self-published Wormskin zine, which he'd been quietly developing since 2015. The game went on to win four ENNIE Awards, with its complete retail release - three core books, four adventure scenarios, a supplement, and a referee's screen - arriving through 2024 and 2025.

Explore forgotten barrows. Haggle with goblins. Eat questionable fungi. Befriend a goat-man. Offend a fairy noble.  I’m putting together an **in-person Dolmenwood campaign in Salt Lake City**: old-school exploration, mythic treasure, dangerous dungeons, strange folklore, and player-driven adventures in an open-world hex crawl.  No Dolmenwood or OSR experience required — just bring your creative thinking and a willingness to explore the dark mysteries of the forest.

The Gardens of Ynn is a procedurally generated point crawl inspired by Alice in Wonderland, Studio Ghibli films, Made in Abyss, old fairytales (from before they got sanitized), and a smattering of other things. This will take longer than a few sessions to complete. We're using Dolmenwood as the system, 3-5 players needed.  Might also want to bring some retainers. Starting XP is 9000 for PCs, 5000 for retainers. One member of your party has inherited the possessions of a dead relative; a small cottage in the countryside. In the pretty little garden, there is a vine covered wall. On the bedside tables, there are instructions on how to get to ‘The Other Garden’ and a dire warning never to do so. "Find a wall covered in ivy, vines, moss, or similar. Clear that vegetation away, and using chalk and charcoal draw a realistic door (with keyhole, hinges and doorknob) on the surface below. Write upon the door: 'Ynn, by way of Dolmenwood' Leave, so the drawing is no longer visible, and on return the drawing will be replaced by a real door. When it is opened, the Gardens of Ynn will be on the other side." Curiosity has gotten the best of you.

I've been gaming since the early 80s. I suck at bios. I have played a bazillion games, and am willing to learn new systems. I prefer long term campaigns, with  focus on roleplay and character development. I haven't listed all games I've played/own, because there's far too many.

Hello all. I am Tyler (he/him) (under 18 but over 15) (AEDT) and I have 4 years of experience as a player and 3 years as a GM. I would love to find new games to join as a player. I am someone that enjoys playing character driven and story based game. I'm not really a megadungeon kind of guy. But I do enjoy some combat. Let's say 50:50 RP: combat ratio with it being ok if the roleplay is higher up to 100:0 I am looking for an online weekly or fortnightly table that is sometime from 6:00 PM to 7:00 AM AEDT except for on Saturday and Monday where it is from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM AEDT Even though my most played game is DnD, I enjoy playing other systems like Alien the roleplaying Game, Pathfinder and others. I am always down to learn a new game. If you made it this far, I hope I have left a good impression. My favourite video game at the moment is Baldur's Gate 3, My favourite books are Brandon Sanderson Cosmere and Star Trek Q-Squared and finally my dream job is to be a video game programmer.

The free plan covers one world, unlimited free-boards and up to 25 world elements. Pro removes every limit.
