After the Calamity, the Overseer vanished. His successor was Tina Bellows, the woman who saved his life from the attack of Excelsior, and was broken in the process. She now runs the city more openly. Unlike her predecessor, even Sleepers know her name. Not all are happy with her rule. A young man Zander Tombs has become a rising voice challenging her rule. He claims she was never meant for the job, and calls for liberation and rebellion. Tina counters that his message should carry little weight as his father, Adrian Tombs, is a known criminal rumored to control much of the city’s criminal underworld. Though Zander seems to be in possession of a mostly functional spaceship. This massive craft looms over the city skyline. Even the Sleepers have begun to notice the strange ship in the sky or shuttles coming from it, sweeping into the city. This campaign focuses on mystery and character drama. Looking for 1-3 people who are interested in a weekly game taking place on the weekend. Exact time will be figured out by the core players. I’d want interested people to be able to show up about 75-80% of the time, since in practice, we’d miss some percentage much larger than that. The campaign is Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen. The players are presently level 5. The rules involve a lot of homebrew. The main goals of that homebrew are to increase the pace of combat, increase tradeoffs for ability scores, and make downtime more meaningful. While some of the rules are new, most of them are just ports from older editions of D&D.  The basic campaign has the characters take on the role of an elite squad in the military that is resisting the conquest of the Red Dragon Army, which has been sweeping the continent. In Dragonlance, arcane magic is regulated by the Tower of High Sorcery, while divine magic is rare, as the gods had previously abandoned the world and are only now just returning. The campaign has a tie-in board game to enact larger scale battles in the war. We had been toying with a lower commitment campaign, but ran into the limitations of that. In practice, that means that none of the original core players will continue on as core players. We will still be experimenting a bit with sidekicks, which can potentially be controlled by guest players when they’re able to show up. Changing the core players means I’m only somewhat tied to continuing Dragonlance in particular. If you like the idea of playing a homebrew 5e campaign weekly on weekends, but are struggling to get excited about dragonlance, then I’d be happy to hear from you. I’d also be happy to hear from anyone in a similar-ish situation (trying to run a weekly weekend game but struggling to find enough players) to see if we can join forces. Some other notes: We would probably plan to start in June, though we could obviously plan characters and such beforehand. While I don’t mind teaching people how to play, and in fact expect to do so, I would prefer people who understand the time commitment of a campaign. Relatedly, I’d prefer people who are willing to iterate a few times on character creation until we get something that feels good/fitting for all involved, rather than people who want to play an extremely specific character regardless. While character death isn’t guaranteed or required, it is possible, and if the rules say your character dies, your character will almost always die, except in some special cases. Recall that while this isn’t a true meat grinder, there are no temples with working clerics, either. With a gleaming bald scalp, a rotund body, and a tiny, beady eyes, he's looks like a very stereotypical wealthy man. He's on a business trip and decided to stop in this town for the night, the night before the train broke down. Hello everyone! I am seeking (ideally) 5 to 6 players to join my FATE campaign set in the world of Annesai, my solarpunk world that I've been building for years. If you're interested in building a character with deep lore and backstories, solving several intertwining story-wide mysteries, and feeling like you're in a huge sandbox, this is the game for you! In Annesai, magic use is forbidden because of its perceived danger. The city of Franzin destroyed itself with it, and as a result people use it secretly and cautiously. The natural lifespan of the country's citizens is 150. People stick around for a long time, and they remember how things used to be. This will be a very roleplay heavy campaign. FATE mechanics like aspects and stunts will be used, but mostly for character driven actions and solving plot lines. Actual "combat" will be incredibly rare. This will also be entirely play by post, with the hopes that each player will post at least twice per day to keep things moving. Story beats will come from me, but players will have time to respond how they'd like. I am a first time GM, so patience is appreciated as I figure out what this all looks like! The country seems to be trying to find its footing in a time where a lot of things are going on at once. In the underground city of Gyuna, citizens have started to notice people with animal like features slinking around the darker parts of the city. Body mods aren't uncommon, like wings tails and horns, but these people are different. They stay as secluded as they possibly can. They look like they're in pain. They look grotesque. Too many are starting to be spotted too often for this to be a simple body mod trend gone wrong. When the Kingsmen started finding people dead from these deformities, they called more forces into the underground, putting everyone on edge. Up in artistic city Purret, the Children of Voltrix have begun recruiting members into their Church more aggressively. They've been holding more open houses, sending higher up members into businesses to leave their new pamphlets when they've never allowed people to leave before, even gotten the High Society Six School of the Arts to start filming a documentary on them. The leader Olix has made an announcement that she will personally pay the fare for anyone who wants to travel from outside Purret to join the CoV. They're gaining more members than ever, and people who are losing friends and loved ones to her cause are starting to worry. After all, nobody even knows what they /do/ in there. And now things have started to come to a head - because the entire country is pretty sure the King is dead. This isn't even horrible news to most of Annesai's citizens, but it's led to confusion and concern. With King Phillip dead, his son Ellion will take the throne... and nobody knows a single thing about him. The general opinion in the royal city of Walnuri is that King Phillip simply waited too long to have an heir. His estranged brother, Alexander, has three children. His eldest Peony has just turned 31 and is only now starting to be referred to in the news as a "young woman" rather than a teenager. His second eldest Zachariah is only 15, and nowhere close to being taken seriously. Phillip, in no real rush, waited until he was 80 before he had a child, and his wife died from childbirth complications. Too old and "busy" to truly raise his new son alone, Ellion was thrust into the arms of countless nannies and old male teachers, none of whom he took to. In our present day, nobody knows anything about Ellion at all except that he's incredibly shy. Interviews - if he agrees to them - are only published in papers and articles. Its incredibly rare to hear his voice. Nobody knows his opinion on magic, on the situation in the ruined Franzin or seedy Gyuna, nothing. To be honest, nobody really cared. Walnuri citizens thought he was cute and would grow into his title, and everybody else decided they would pay attention to him when he was old enough to grow out of his meekness and address the nation without prompting from his father. After all, the King was only just in his hundreds and in seemingly good health. Ellion wouldn't take the throne for at least 20 more years, when he was old enough to take it seriously. But now the King is dead, and his son, at only 22, is taking control of Annesai.

I am looking to put together a group of mature, roleplay oriented ttrpg players.  Although I would consider someone of undergraduate age if they were mature enough, Im really looking for grad student on up. I am specifically interested in non WOTC games.  I have a large collection,  Id like to rotate Gamemaster between at least 2 of us, and preferrably 3, so I get a chance to play too :)  Game system and setting are GM choice.  I have 2 games I would like to run. One is DCC (an OSR game) and the other is a variant of Legend in the Mist which is a narrative game.

Had a player leave due to stupid real life getting in the way of D&D, so I have another spot open. He was the rogue, so a rogue would be cool, but not mandatory. You can be whatever you want. The game takes place on a recently discovered continent, and largely revolves around exploring it. There's one permanent settlement, and there's fun stuff going on there too. The group just hit 3rd level, so you'll start at 3rd level too. Anything from the official 3.5 releases is fine to use (except for Tome of Battle and Savage Species), and there's a few 3rd party books you can use too. The game is on Saturdays at 3pm EST, we use Discord and Owlbear Rodeo, and I have a form fillable PDF character sheet we're using. The idea is that you came to this new land to make a new life for yourself. Why is entirely up to you. I've purposefully left the "old world" as vague as possible so you can come up with pretty much any kind of character you want. All I ask is no royalty. My only real requirement is that you have a decent microphone, and if you have a lot of noise going on around you put yourself on push to talk. I'm kind of deaf and have a hard enough time hearing as it is.

Its societies are split into those that worship dragons for their protection and benevolence, and those who believe in the freedom of individuals. Both sides fight for their beliefs, and kingdoms rise or fall out of pettiness and determination from either side. You, however, are no king. Not a peasant anymore either. By the end of the campaign, you are hopefully a hero. The Campaign The tone of the campaign is generally light-hearted, but there will be serious and tragic events as well. While I incorporate mature themes into my storytelling, this won't devolve into a gore or smut fest. I‘m planning to run a story where you are the good guys, the hero in this draconian system. The campaign will follow a linear storytelling. That means that I have a story in mind that I want to tell with you, which will incorporate your character‘s background as well. How you reach your goal is up to you, but I, as the DM, will determine what the goal is. I‘ve tried sandbox-style campaigns before and found that I don‘t enjoy them (and am also not good at running them). Your choices WILL matter, but if your choice is to rob a bank when the quest is to protect a village, then the group will choose that you aren‘t a good fit. The split between combat and roleplay will be 40/60. Exploration will sometimes take place but won’t be the focus. We’ll play over Discord and use Foundry for battlemaps and rolls. Cams are encouraged but not enforced or required. We'll start at lvl 1 and go all the way to 15. Possibly followed by some one-shot style adventures post main story to level 20. The Hook You‘ll start in the territory of the „Tribes of Stone“, a desert where most people live underground to escape the burning heat and dangerous monsters that hide in the sand. Access to magic here is rare, so when a merchant‘s delivery, which includes a spell scroll, gets lost on its way to the capital, he hires you to retrieve the wares. Let me tell you my story I am a 26M native from France, and an amateur GM (1 year of experience), and I started not so long ago my own party of TTRPG in english since I got lot more time to consacre to it. About the world: We'll be playing in a world called Alver on the continent of Kronland. This is a heavily Nordic-inspired world. Imagine what the late Middle Ages and Renaissance in Europe would have looked and felt like if the Vikings had become the dominant influence rather than Christianity. At the same time, there would still be distinct kingdoms with their own cultures, fashions, and styles. Norse mythology is deeply ingrained in the world.  The lore is inspired by Nordic mythology, but it is NOT Nordic mythology. It's a full-on pantheon and history I created. Some stuff will align and match, but much will not.  The continent is vast, and thus, the distance between cities, villages, and civilizations is such that the world varies greatly, from areas with rare magic and supernatural elements to cosmopolitan cities with mixed races, magic, and wonder. The game is designed to strike a balance between drama, grim humor, and epic adventure. It's not just grimdark or silly - it'll be a mix of all. You'll start small in scope, but the story is meant to go epic by the end.  There are five playable races (with some having sub-races), which I'll share the details of later, but these are the closest "D&D" races to them in racial traits: Menskr: Humans + Vel (homebrew variant human - with some innate self-magical potential) Kettir: Homebrew Tabaxi Hedlinari: Homebrew mix between Dwarfs/Gnomes/Halfings Graari: Homebrew Goliath (with horns! lol) Mal-Siva: Homebrew Aasimar (The only race that can use "real" magic classes like Wizards or Warlocks in my world) Closing words: That's it. This is a NSFW Call of Cthulhu campaign that I'm aiming for 3-4 players playing. This will be done in Discord at 8-9:30 EST. I will be running this weekly when I'm able. The people who live there have become coarse and hardy from subsisting off of mushrooms and the grains from the river. Campaign: Strange happenings have been going on in Raptio Peak. One day ago, the railroad shut down. One hour ago, a strange, bare chested woman was seen blowing a horn before riding off into the night. One second ago, the town church burst into flames in the middle of service. No one knows if this is a regular old demonic possession or if there's something more sinister at hand, but one thing is for sure... No one is safe tonight. Character Options Prudence: A pious 18yo single girl. She has straight strands of straw colored hair, a pale complexion, and eyes the color of the sun at dawn. Having been raised in Raptio all her life, she's dying to get out and see the world she's read about in her books and scriptures. Joseph: A hardworking 24yo single man. He has brown auburn tufts of hair, a strong, tanned body, and eyes like the midday sky. He was born and raised in Raptio Peak and dreams to someday see his grandchildren running along the plains of green grass he planted and tended. Nike: A determined 53yo divorced woman. She has loose strands of salt and pepper hair, a toned, fit figure for her age, and eyes cold and black as the ocean. She has explored the better half of the Midwest and has decided to settle down here. She says it's because she can see the sunrise from where she lives. Winchester: An easygoing 40yo businessman. With a gleaming bald scalp, a rotund body, and a tiny, beady eyes, he's looks like a very stereotypical wealthy man. He's on a business trip and decided to stop in this town for the night, the night before the train broke down. There may or may not be secret info about the characters and their motivations depending on who you choose Specific kinks that might appear in universe: Futanari, Gender Swap both ways, Musk, Pheromones, Non-con, Eldritch horrors, tentacles, mind control, pegging, chastity, whatever looking down on a woman because she's old is called, orgasm control and denial.  Specific kinks that will not be there: Snuff, Scat, Watersports, Bestiality, Gore, fucking dead bodies and everything under those umbrellas.  If something's hot, I'm probably gonna do it, but those are the guidelines on kinky stuff. Vibe: Grimdark, high fantasy, found family, dungeon crawl I'm looking for players who enjoy the tension of resource management and clever problem-solving over "face-tanking" monsters. Tone: I'm not going to say the tone will be intentionally comedic or serious, as I can understand that it can be difficult for people to successfully pull off either, so it's going to be more of a playing be ear of seeing what players I get and seeing where it goes, and hopefully having those funny or serious moments come organically rather than intentionally. DM Style: I'm aiming for something very RP heavy. Low on combat. I'll try to make combat's more like puzzles that you can solve almost instantly rather than health bars you have to chip away at. If an entire session is just the players and NPC's talking to each other, and they've barely moved from where they started, I would consider that a perfect session. This campaign is about the adventure of an unlikely group of allies in the Little Kingdoms, a set of 5 small, aspiring empires tucked away between the Lorithian forests, Wei and Lai, haunted by returning spirits and behind the rumbling mountains of Azlith, an ancient god. With the forces of evil returning and the forests seeking to bridge the gap that separated them, and a malevolent entity feeding Azlith's reduced form with energy to harness his power, the political and military disputes between these kingdoms seems superficial in comparison.. and yet the humans and elves will continue to wage war on each other despite the mounting threats. Try to find a nice way to thread the needle between these two conflicts and save everyone, or don't - it's up to you. We will be playing point-buy, starting at level 3 all the way to.. I'm not sure! Anyone interest in a biweekly EST Friday evening game of rogue trader? With like 4-6 players. Played on Roll20, since I know it best. Discord for threads and comms. Basically the PCs will own/be command staff on a huge starship with like 80k crew members. It’s a city in space. So big it will have two active alien invasions on board that have been ongoing on for generations within the lower decks. The party will have a warrant granted to them that says whatever they can claim (and hold onto) in a distant expanse of the milkyway they can keep. That means solar-systems, planets, populations, resources and riches. A star barony that they can pretty much run however they want or can all agree upon. As long as they pay their tithes/taxes to the Imperium. Races for PCs are pretty wide open. I’d allow an ork (probably a merc working for gear and teef). An aeldari (space elves), a grot could be fun. A farseer Tau firewarrior with a stealth battle suit. Kroot or ogryn is on the table. The rogue trader and navigator would have to be “human”, but the rest of the crew im open. The system uses percentile dice. Not my fav but we’ll make due. The themes in the game can be pretty heavy. Think of a bad thing in RL and there are races/planets/gods doing all that and probably more. We’ll steer clear of the absolute worst of it, but just a heads up it’s a very adult game. I would personally like to see the game run iconoclast with dabblings into imperial dogma and chaos heresy. id like to see the party try to help people/xenos of the expanse more than enslave/destroy them. Unless they leave you no choice that is then dakka-dakka away. A focus on power-building self-interest over extremist ideals. It’s set like 200,000 light years from earth, so there’s room for y’all to be somewhat nice people, right? Semi-trained, pseudo-decent, quasi-professionals? Anyway. That’s my pitch. I've recently put together a solid group of veteran players, and we're on the hunt for an experienced DM to take the helm. Hi there. Our gaming group has a chair to fill at the table since we recently lost a player due to a schedule change. I run game once a month at the wife and I's house in the Rosemont area of Sacramento, close off Hwy 50 and Watt Avenue.  I've been running games since 1995 when I had the AD&D 2E Dungeon Masters Guide thrust into my hands at a local game store.  Since then I've run and played many games and run multiple campaigns that stretched on for years on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Now with me and my players being in our 40s and 50s we only play once a month on a Saturday selected by how many folks are available, from 1pm until around 5pm-6pm.   After ending a long running 5E campaign a few years ago, I've mainly been running the group through Delta Green. However, a couple of months back we started playing Shadowdark and been having a blast.  We'll be keeping on with Shadowdark but will sprinkle in some Delta Green and perhaps Call of Cthulhu from time to time. I’m looking for players for a Dungeon Crawl Classics campaign called The Road Tithe. This is an 8-session dark fantasy campaign about a missing shipment, a buried conspiracy, a hidden underground city, and a race to stop a second genocide before thousands of people are wiped out. The campaign starts with a straightforward road escort job between Thornwall and Greyfen. Then the ground opens beneath you. Half the party is taken below the road into *, a secret civilization descended from people the crown tried to * 150 years ago. The other half is left on the surface with a * wagon, scattered clues, and the growing realization that the * are part of something much larger. Both sides investigate from above and below until the truth comes into focus: *, a plan to * and erase the * good. I have a custom campaign for MERP (with a little bit of Rolemaster rules) that i need to find players for. Set in and around Mirkwood 400 years before The One Ring was found by Deagol and stolen by Smeagol. The dwarves have been driven out of Khazad-dum roughly 80 years prior and have now established Erebor. Your character meets a merchant in need of help transporting a shipment of weapons to Woodmen-Town... and your adventure begins. The 10 player requirement is just a number. Don't let it scare you and also it is not a fixed amount. Time: Friday 10PM MST - 2AM MST once a month but if schedules allow twice a month or more. If schedules allow mid week sessions as well.
