Hello! First time posting, I am the DM for a group of four that have been playing since December 2017 (in-person) in southwestern Maine. One of our members has stepped away from the game, leaving us with 3 players at the table. While that is a fine size we do enjoy the dynamic with four player characters - and with the recent departure the table feels a bit empty! It is a home brewed world, the current campaign started on New Year’s Day January 2025. The campaign before that was our only other campaign, which ran about 7 years. The players are currently level 8, and they are on a tall ship in a campaign in which they are sailing around the pangaean continent and battling evil, pirates, spending lots of time in coastal cities on shore leave getting into trouble and all of that great stuff. We play with the 5e 2014 rules and our sessions are every Tuesday night, running from 7pm to usually around 11-12, rarely running longer than that. To be honest we are quite spoiled in that we rarely have a group member absent, and would be looking for somebody who wants to commit to being there in person every week. I don’t have a lot of experience with seeing other groups play, but I would describe us as fairly role play heavy - lots of time spent between players having conversations in character with each other and NPCs. We lean into the “yes, and” style as much as people are comfortable with. We are a mature group, most of us in our 40s. After our player exit there will be two women and two men at the table, if that’s important to know. We are an upbeat group, we don’t delve into stuff that makes people uncomfortable, and we care a lot about our little world and the time we spend together. I know it’s a long shot posing this, considering how hard it is to get schedules to line up and how sparsely populated Maine is - but I would have regrets if I never tried! Something evil is trapping the souls of the dead and draining life from all who have been raised from death by magic. This curse not only prevents the raising of the dead, but also causes creatures that were previously raised from the dead to wither and eventually die. Unfortunately for you, you have all been brought back from the dead at some point. On one battlefield or another, you have all known the blessing of the Revival spell. And thus, stranded now so very far from home, you are under the effect of the curse that has befallen this foreign place. You have already lost most of your power, be it magic or might, and it is only a question of time until you perish. Unless you find a way to thwart this inglorious fate and save yourselves, the land, and its people. The tone of this campaign is dark, horror-like at times. Hey, everyone. Me and a group of 4 other players are looking for a 5th player to join our table. The campaign has only started recently and takes place in a homebrew region I've been working on. This is a campaign where you basically get to adventure through the world that my mind imagines and you influence. It's a darker setting with lots of psychological horror elements and without any real objective to achieve.  It’s what I’d see as a classic dnd world. A medieval-esque world with magic. The main idea about the world is that chaos is growing, darkness is spreading and the world is corrupted and continues to grow darker and more dangerous. This is due to Bane (the god of darkness) and his followers wishing to draw the whole realm into the dark grip of Bane. While this is happening Bhaal and Myrkul (the 2 other in the dead 3, god of murder and lord of bones) will become jealous and also start influencing the realm and driving to empower themselves. Bane’s most important followers have gained the ability to steal the souls of lower mortals to transform themselves into demons and monsters of the fiendish variety (Bane is a fiendish god from what I could find) The characters I’ve had so far have had sad backstories, but tbh, I give everyone the freedom to do as they choose. I’m creating homebrew items and maps for the campaign as well! The players will be free to do whatever they choose in the world with me putting my heart and soul into creating as fun and adventurous encounters and experiences. The campaign has technically started, but players often disappear due to scheduling conflicts and such. And not much has happened so far. I'm finally running a proper evil campaign for my players, and we have an open spot. Conspire with the party, figure out what you want to do, take over the city (or destroy it, or eat it). The city will try to stop you from taking over. Don't piss off too many factions until you're strong enough to accomplish your goals. About 13th Age: 13th Age is a d20 RPG designed by a lead designer of D&D 3e and a lead designer of D&D 4e. It takes gamey combat with plenty of character options and blends it with free-flowing narrative mechanics. We are playing with the 2nd Edition rules (which are almost identical to the 1st Edition rules, but with a few tweaks). Both 1E and 2E class options are allowed (other than a handful of very overpowered options). My campaign is about 75% combat and about 25% everything else (roleplay, social, investigation, puzzles, etc). I am currently running a PBP game set in Rune Midgard, the world of Ragnarok online using SWADE system.  I am not using the SWPF. I am translating the game powers/skills from each class to a class edge in the SWADE format. My plan is to run everyone together but since it's faster to go 1 on 1, I am doing 1 on 1 games and if the character is in the same location of the other one, they go together. I have been running Masks for some folks on my personal Discord server and Alchemy VTT since September 8th, 2025. The Good Friends are currently in the England chapter. Peru and New York have already been completed. I run a very loosey goosey style of game, and the characters are modified to be very powerful, but you won't have the x2 HP mod. Background: I and a few friends are looking to start a homebrew Star Wars tabletop campaign, this will take place during the clone wars on a custom planet that is embroiled in its own conflict. This will be a semi-serious campaign that is focused heavily on role-play and narrative with themes of resistance, political intrigue, and occasional light-hearted moments. Hello! My name is Nolan, I'm a DM of 7 years now, and I'm hoping to start up a game of D&D that meets at least every other week (or weekly if we can make it work!) The campaign is in a homebrew world called Cladriel, filled with unique nations, environments, and rich history for players to discover.  I run a very RP-rewarding table and a very beginner friendly table, and can provide everything from dice to a miniature if needed! Hey guys. I'm a newer DM who finally wants to put something long-lasting together. All of my other campaigns kinda just fizzled out. I'm 21 and am looking for players 16+. Critical Hits are brutal with “Crunchy Crits”: roll your normal damage + max on initial die, then double the dice for added damage. Example: 2H Longsword + Smite → 1d10+10 + 2d8+2d8 Lingering Wounds: Catastrophic injuries happen. Broken limbs reduce movement or effectiveness. Lost limbs require prosthetics or magic to restore. Eye or organ damage has mechanical penalties. 2. Healing & Potions Potions: In a bag → drinking = Action Easy access (bandolier, hand, etc.) → drinking = Bonus Action Potion types: Herbal = half normal Magical = normal Charged = double normal (requires spellcaster enhancement) If you drink as an action while potion is easy access → max HP restored. Resting: Short Rest → 1d4+Con per hour can be none a number of times per day as proficiency bonus Long Rest → 3HD+Con (if sleeping outside → 1HD+Con) Resting does not fully heal. 3. Leveling & Health Health stops increasing after level 6. Class features and feats still advance normally. 4. Magic Magic is rare. Common items are almost non-existent. Item rarity is shifted: Common → Rare Uncommon → Ultra-Rare Rare → Legendary Ultra-Rare → Practically unheard of Legendary → Legendary Artifact level Artifact → does not exist Magic items have limited charges and may break when depleted. Recharging costs spell slots and takes days. Magical Exhaustion: Sacrifice 1 level of exhaustion to boost a spell by 1 level, or 3 levels to cast without a slot. Unused spell slots: Chance for wild magic (10%) or mana burn (1 damage per unused slot). 5. Combat & Mechanics No racial darkvision. All races get +1 feat instead. Inspiration: Given at Session 0 (+1), then after each session for participation in end-of-session feedback. NPC Affinity: NPCs react to your actions. Skill & Save Degrees: Rolls matter: Nat 20 = extreme success, DC+5 = great success, DC met = success, DC-5 = severe fail, Nat 1 = extreme fail. Crits on Saves & Skills: Crit Success → no damage / best outcome Crit Fail → full damage / worst outcome Flanking: Canceled if party also flanks the same target. Dying Status: Downed players are in Dying state (think Gears of War): detriments of unconscious, 5ft movement. Hidden HP & Death Saves: Players do not announce them. Breaking this rule = warning → damage. 6. Sanity & Fear All characters must have a fear. DM-approved only. Sanity Track: Horrific events → sanity checks. Nat 20 = lose 1, Nat 1 = gain 2. 6 sanity lost → risk of long-term madness. Potential for Insanity: Character goes berserk, cannot be played normally. 7. Resurrection Requires a Resurrection Challenge. Party members contribute skill checks to help. Each resurrection increases base DC by +1 for that character. Failed resurrection → “Death Curse” (quest, borrowed time, etc.). 8. Flavors & Setting Fear & Roleplay Matter: Players encouraged to embrace fears and the world’s gritty reality. Rule of Cool: Beats all other rules. Caliburn Coins: Trickster god coins can: Buy items Roll on loot tables Automatically Nat 20 once per coin (may have funny consequences) 9. Crafting, Proficiencies & Languages Proficiency Training: Spend time between adventures to learn tools, languages, or cantrips. Teacher rolls DC 15; self-study DC 20 at disadvantage. Languages: 3 custom languages exist. Players can know 1 at start (Yak-ta). 10. Survival Rations: Last 30 days. Eat 1 per long rest. Skipping → 1 level exhaustion. Fishing: Roll d20 + modifiers for rods, bait, and environment to determine catch. 11. Session Rules & Conduct Respect players. No politics, discrimination, or harassment. Hirelings available: max level < party, 2–10 gold/day. 12. Optional Rules Homebrew content must be approved. Monsters & encounters are balanced for fun, not raw book stats.
