Dungeon Crawler Carl

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Combat focused
Fights, tactics and initiative take up most of the table time.
Hello, hello, hello. With everything that is happening, I have been looking forward to the new Dungeon Crawler Carl TTRPG, and I have been making my preparations for the upcoming release, especially since I have early access to the PDF of the book. Now, that being said, I have three players, two who are going to be around consistently, and one who can only participate occasionally. Since the count is around that, I am looking for two or three more players who are willing or eager to participate in a game, where we will have a Discord and communicate on weekly games there. If you are familiar with Dungeon Crawler Carl, then you would understand why the monotony of tags, but let it be known that very many things can happen in the World Dungeon. I'm realizing that I forgot to upload a schedule when I first posted, but I'd let it be known to those who are interested that the game would take place on Fridays at 7 P.M. EST.

Curse of Strahd: Horror's Within

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Horror
The game leans into fear, tension and dark themes.
Under raging storm clouds, the vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires. The wind's howling increases as he turns his gaze down toward the village of Barovia. Far below, yet not beyond his keen eyesight, a party of adventurers has just entered his domain. Strahd's face forms the barest hint of a smile as his dark plan unfolds. He knew they were coming, and he knows why they came -- all according to his will. A lightning flash rips through the darkness, but Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind fills the midnight air. The master of Castle Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. And you are invited...

BENEATH A DYING MOON A Grimdark D&D 5e Campaign | Recruiting 2 Players The world has fallen. An eldritch apocalypse has left civilization in ruins, humanity on the brink of extinction, and the wastes ruled by forces beyond mortal understanding. In the aftermath, two opposing faiths have emerged: one clinging to the remnants of the old world, the other heralding the arrival of something new. As ancient powers stir and the boundaries of the natural world begin to unravel, you must navigate a land caught between two competing visions of its future. In a world where salvation and damnation may look much the same, what will you choose to preserve? ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN Beneath a Dying Moon takes place in a homebrew grimdark setting shaped by cosmic horror, religious conflict, moral ambiguity, and the struggle for survival. Much of the world's history, its factions, and the true nature of the apocalypse will be revealed organically throughout the campaign. Expect a narrative-driven experience where character decisions carry weight, actions have consequences, and the distinction between good and evil is rarely straightforward. This is intended to be a serious, immersive campaign with an emphasis on roleplay, character development, exploration, and storytelling. Combat will still play an important role, but the campaign is about more than simply defeating enemies and collecting loot. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR We're currently a group of three (the DM and two players) looking for two additional players to complete our party. We're hoping to find players who: - Enjoy serious roleplay and storytelling. You don't need to be a professional voice actor or stay in character every second, but we want players willing to engage with the world and their characters. - Respect the tone of the setting. Humour and lighthearted moments are welcome, but constant joke characters, excessive meme behaviour, and deliberately disruptive play won't fit this campaign. - Value character development. Characters with motivations, flaws, ambitions, and personal conflicts are encouraged. - Understand that actions have consequences. Not every situation will have a perfect solution. - Are cooperative and respectful. Characters may disagree or have questionable morals, but players must work together. - Are reliable and communicative. Real life comes first, but consistent attendance and communication matter. - Are comfortable with mature themes. Death, loss, corruption, religious fanaticism, psychological horror, and difficult moral choices may arise. Player boundaries will be discussed and respected. You do not need extensive D&D experience to join. Newer players are welcome if they're willing to learn, participate, and take the campaign seriously. CHARACTER CREATION - Starting Level: 3 (everyone begins with their subclass). - System: Official D&D 5e (2014 rules). - Allowed Content: Official 2014-era 5e material, including official supplements and modules. - Homebrew: No homebrew classes or races. - Rules: Abilities, feats, spells, and other character options must follow Rules as Written (RAW). - Required Submission: A completed character sheet (PDF preferred) and a written character backstory. Play a character you genuinely want to play. Nobody needs to fill a specific party role or build around an ideal composition; the DM will work with the party we have. Morally grey characters, unusual motivations, and darker concepts are welcome, provided they can function within a cooperative party. Your character doesn't need to be a hero, but should have a compelling reason to venture into a dying world. TABLE EXPECTATIONS 1. Roleplay is encouraged, not forced. Everyone has different comfort levels, but genuine participation is expected. 2. No murderhobo or deliberately disruptive behaviour. Dark choices can fit the setting; senseless disruption at the group's expense does not. 3. No unsolicited PvP or party sabotage. Character conflict must not undermine other players' enjoyment. 4. Respect other players' moments. Give everyone room to speak, decide, and develop. 5. Accept failure and consequences. Not every encounter is meant to be won through combat. 6. Keep player knowledge separate from character knowledge. Avoid metagaming. 7. Respect the DM and fellow players. Rules discussions are fine; prolonged arguments and hostility are not. 8. Collaborative storytelling comes first. We're building a memorable story together, not competing against each other or the DM. INTERESTED IN JOINING? Send us a message with a little information about yourself, your experience with D&D, and the kind of character you'd like to play. We're more interested in players who enjoy the atmosphere and storytelling we're aiming for than in the most experienced or mechanically optimized players. The world is dying. Its gods are silent, its people are desperate, and something ancient is stirring beneath the ruins. What will you become beneath a dying moon?

A BIT ABOUT ME: Hello, my name is Aron, I’m 34 and I started playing this game as the forever DM just before COVID hit and have been DMing multiple weekly games since. I am for the most part fairly introverted which this hobby has helped deal with, and while I may not do all the little funny voices (it’s a thing I’m working on) I’m a sucker for the Rule of Cool and a good story! And what better story then one you build together as a collaboration with other like minded individuals?! Outside of D&D my interests revolve heavily around music, movies, and other general nerd things

We have a few players who have a lot of knowledge of the world, and we can help however we can. We just really loved the concept and hope to find someone who can bring it to life.  Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

The Land Beyond the Fog

Hello, I'm Bartek and I dm a soulslike homebrew DND campaign, heavy roleplay and engaging combat. With a very immersive, and active homebrew pantheon. The players are now at session 3 of the campaign and about to enter some catacombs, however 2 of our players have had to leave due to their own personal lives, giving us 2 extra slot This is the prologue the players received in session 1, to give you the vibe of the campaign. The fallen leaves tell a story... Of a land beyond the fog. Before kingdoms. Before war. Before the names of kings were carved into stone... There was Vita, Mother of All. From her hands came the first trees, their roots piercing the untouched earth. From the trees came the first plants. From the plants came sustenance. Then came the beasts of field and forest, given breath beneath the newborn sky. And at last... Vita created Man. But there was only one. His name was Vex. The First Man. In those earliest days, Vex was a gracious ruler. He built where there was nothing. He nurtured what was fragile. He gave order to a world yet untouched by war. And beneath Vita's watch... His people prospered. Yet life, once born, does not remain still. Vita bore within her the promise of three children. And where there is creation... It must cast a shadow. From the darkness cast by Vita's own existence came something that bore but one name. Umbrosus. The Eternal Dark. It dwelled where sunlight dared not reach. Beneath roots. Beneath stone. Within the forgotten places of the world. At first, it knew nothing of Man. Nothing of Vita. Nothing of the tongue spoken by living things. But it watched. And it learned. Slowly, Umbrosus crept into the dwelling of Vita. It learned the language of its creator. It listened to the voices of her children. And in the stillness of night... It heard the beating of Vita's heart. One heartbeat. Then another. Then... three more. For within the Mother slept the unborn children of the world. Mortuus The Golden Child. Distortus. The Forgotten Son. Enchidna. The Mother of Monsters. Three children. Untouched by the world's cruelty. Three souls destined to inherit the Mother's creation. But Umbrosus reached them first While Vita slept... The shadow entered the womb It did not kill them. It did something far worse. It left within each child an ember of itself. A darkness that not even the Mother's light could wholly extinguish Kings may bury their crimes. Civilizations may burn their histories. Gods may attempt to erase their mistakes. But time continues. And eventually, time reveals all And so... The children of Vita were born carrying a fragment of the shadow. And now... Our world bears the weight of it. But where there is shadow... There is light. Light that finds its way through the cracks. Light that refuses to die. Light that does not merely shine... but roars And now... There is only one question left. Dear adventurers... Will you heed its call? If your interested in joining please either DM me or leave a comment. :)

Take your first steps into Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk. Explore unfamiliar places, meet people worth getting attached to, and discover the adventure together; no story knowledge needed. I like players who give me something unexpected to work with. An elaborate bluff, an improvised trap, a plan held together by optimism: pitch it, and we’ll see what happens. My table runs on creative freedom, nilboggery and consequences. There’s room for silliness, but danger still matters. Help your companions shine, get involved in the world, and be prepared to live with your decisions. I also use a few patrons to enhance the experience, including Baileywiki, JB2A, and PSFX. Sessions are $5 each. They run 3 to 5 hours, with breaks. Stats are standard array, or if you feel like some whimsy, you can roll and hand the dice to your fate!

Greek-myth campaign for Daggerheart

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
"Five years ago, a thousand ships answered Agamemnon's call and departed Greece to bring about Ilium's ruin. The greatest heroes, the mightiest weapons, and the most mythical stories are somewhere else.  You are among who remains.  I am Homer, and I will sing of you, amongst Other Names." Set in a fabled Age of Rhapsody — paying homage to the Bronze Age, Greek tragedy and comedy, and classical myth — Echoes of Fate is a homebrew Campaign Frame for Daggerheart exploring lies and prophecies, the making of myths, and what it costs to break destiny. You are not the hero the epic was written for. No prophecy names you. No Muse has claimed your story...yet. So what do you make of a life the songs haven't told yet? If you are a fan of myth retellings such as EPIC: the Musical, A Thousand Ships, The Song of Achilles, come sit by the fire. Some notes on the setting: •  The gods are present but distracted — drawing their eye may bring you greatness, or ruin. Or maybe you'll be drawn to the Mysteries instead? •  No prophecy protects you: your choices ripple outward, and could alter canon myths and even the course of the war itself. •  All stories are welcome, this table is LGBTQ+ friendly. •  New to tabletop, Daggerheart, or Greek myth? This table is beginner-friendly. And no Classics degree required, just curiosity. Sessions will be paid through StartPlaying.com, at 25$ per session. About me: - I've been a Dungeon Master for almost 8 years and I have plenty of experience in guiding new players. I prefer Theater of the Mind with minimal VTT support. - Your story will matter and I love a long, narrative background I can weave into the main story. - I do character voices!  - I also do character artworks :D Safety tools: Session 0, Lines and Veils, Consent checklist and X cards. I prefer to be honest in advance: Echoes of Fate draws from real life in addition to myth. Slavery was present in Ancient Greece, as was mysogyny, war and violence. You will be able to challenge these in-game through your character, or ask me to avoid mentioning them and I will do my best to do so.

The Realms of Ava: A New World [8pm EDT][Friday]

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
You have spent your entire life gazing up at the suns, moons, and twilit wanderers knowing them only as the distant realms of the gods. You grew up believing magic was a myth reserved for high kings, court mystics, and rare legends... a gift granted to perhaps one in a million. Like all good lies, there is a hint of truth. The celestial bodies above are indeed divine, but magic is far from rare. It is actively policed and hidden away by a shadowy organization operating in plain sight across the continent of Uxlav. Now, an inexplicable spark has awakened that forbidden power within you. You are left with an impossible choice: cling to the fragile comfort of your ordinary life, or step forward into a reality where magic is real, dangerous, and directly in your hands. Cross paths with the Order of Silver Knights to learn the truth behind dragons; monstrous terrors that warp the fabric of reality itself and twist nearby mortals into servile thralls known as kobolds. Face the horrors that extraplanar entities inflict upon those touched by magic, uncover the ancient corruption leaking into the mortal realm, and journey from Uxlav's fractured surface to the dark depths of the world. You will not emerge the same person who entered. Campaign Overview System: D&D 5.5e (Non-PHB 2014 content allowed) Starting Level: Level 0 Session Length: 4 – 6 hours per session Schedule: Weekly long-term campaign (40+ sessions) Platform: Roll20 (VTT & Combat Maps) + Discord (Voice required, video optional) Tone: Dark Fantasy, Mystery, Planar Intrigue, Exploration Cost: $10 per session via paypal, or $30/month The Setting: The Realms of Ava's continent Uxlav The campaign begins on the continent of Uxlav, a vast realm still nursing the scars of three centuries of warfare following the fall of the Mund Empire. While an uneasy peace holds the surface together, political tension simmers beneath every border. In the heavens, the pantheon numbers only ten deities, though the dominant Church of Solaris preaches that their Lord of Light should be the only one. Across these fractured lands, dragons are not noble beasts of legend, but reality-altering anomalies whose mere presence rewrites the land and subjugates the mind. The Order of Silver Knights stands as the thin line between ordinary mortals and these living calamities, hunting rogue entities before their corruption spreads unchecked. Player Character Guidelines Level 0 Start: You begin as ordinary folk. Laborers, apprentices, scouts, or scoundrels, before the spark of power alters your path. Character Backgrounds: Grounded roots within Mund’s successor nations (such as the imperial remnants of Oram, the industrial halls of Brevis Solea, the river republic of Flumund, or the wild borders of Luctus). Species: All standard options are available; personal histories and world perceptions are tied to local culture rather than cosmic spoilers.

Curse of Strahd: The Devil Ascendant

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
Horror
The game leans into fear, tension and dark themes.
The mists are calling. Will you answer? There is a land where the sun has forgotten how to shine, where the dead seldom rest, and where every whispered prayer may be answered by something far worse than the gods. Welcome to Barovia. Beyond the choking mists, ancient evils stir. The villagers bar their doors against the night, wolves stalk the forgotten roads, and somewhere high above it all, a dark lord watches from his castle. But something is changing. Old prophecies are stirring. Strange signs mark the heavens. And the threads of fate are being drawn tighter around those unfortunate enough to wander into this cursed domain. In Barovia, death is not always the end. Sometimes, it is merely the beginning. Curse of Strahd: The Devil Ascendant is a reimagined journey into Ravenloft, weaving classic gothic horror, psychological terror, dark mysteries, and unexpected twists into a campaign where your choices carry consequences—and not every monster is what it seems. Whether you are a veteran of Ravenloft or entering the mists for the very first time, do not expect the familiar to remain familiar. CAMPAIGN DETAILS System: D&D 5E (2014 Rules) When: Sundays, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM Eastern (GMT-4) Where: Roll20 & Discord Session Length: 4 hours Cost: $25 CDN per session (Reduced to $10 CDN until January 1st, 2027) The mists have opened. A place awaits you at the table. Come willingly, adventurer. Barovia has never needed an invitation to claim its guests. After all, the Devil knows your name. Will you live long enough to learn his?

In the world of the Forgotten Realms the past century has been plagued with violence and chaos as numerous near apocalyptic events have consumed the continent of Faerûn. The Time of Troubles, The Spellplague, and the Second Sundering all dramatically altered Faerûn and shattered the world's status quo. Because of this, the past century has been referred to as the Era of Upheaval, but that time has finally come to an end. With the events of the Second Sundering the gods have decreed the Era of Upheaval is over and order can be restored. Now the world waits with baited breath, will war and chaos return to the Realms or is this the beginning of a new age of prosperity? Greetings Adventurer! Are you in search of your next long term campaign? Well look no further! I am in search of the most passionate D&D players the internet has to offer to join my new campaign set in the Forgotten Realms.
