Within those mists only ruins remained of empire long forgotten. Now the mist is no more and you heard that the treasures hidden within it are to be found and claimed! In this Dragonbane campaign, you will explore dangerous wilderness, ancient tombs, monster-infested dungeons, abandoned villages, and mysterious strongholds. Every expedition carries risk. Supplies run low, monsters hunt the roads, and greed often proves deadlier than steel. The campaign combines classic fantasy adventure with open exploration, deadly combat, strange magic, and opportunities for both heroism and disaster. My games focus on atmosphere, player-driven choices, immersive roleplay, and fast-paced cinematic action. Dragonbane rewards creativity, clever plans, and bold decisions over perfect character builds. Expect dangerous journeys, memorable NPCs, dark humor, tense combat, and a living world that reacts to your successes and failures. This game is ideal for players who enjoy old-school fantasy adventures, exploration-heavy campaigns, and stories shaped by risk and discovery. Dragonbane: Module : Shadow Over Gloomshire (probably max 5 sessions) Beginner Friendly | Online | Every Other Wednesday Please read the full description to make sure the game is a good fit for you.  The Adventure We’ll be starting with Gloomshire, a popular third-party adventure for Dragonbane. It’s a shorter campaign, likely around 5 sessions, focused on a strange isolated town wrapped in dread and mystery. If the group clicks and everyone has a great time, I’d love to continue into longer-term Dragonbane campaigns afterward, especially Misty Vale and eventually the upcoming TRUDVANG setting when it releases.  When we play -8 PM EST 5/27/26 every other week on Wednesdays, 3 hour sessions We’ll begin with a short Session 0 for character creation, expectations, and getting everyone comfortable with the system before jumping into the adventure.  What You Need -Discord for voice chat -Owlbear Rodeo (free browser-based VTT) -No webcam required I’ll provide all links and setup info.  Tone & Playstyle I run pretty relaxed games. Exploration is mostly theater of the mind I use music, art, wallpapers, and atmosphere heavily Combat sometimes uses maps when needed Dungeons usually have maps if positioning matters I’ve found that too many battlemaps can sometimes hurt immersion and imagination, so I prefer using them when they truly add value instead of for every single scene. What Is Dragonbane? Dragonbane is a fantasy RPG with: -Roll-under mechanics -Skill-based characters -No classes -Fast combat -Deadly encounters -Lighter rules than D&D 5e The game sits somewhere between heroic fantasy and old-school danger. Characters absolutely can die, and the randomness of the dice is a major part of the experience. Things commonly determined randomly include: -Ability scores -Encounters -Loot -Travel events -Mishaps and complications Part of the fun is embracing the uncertainty and seeing where the adventure goes. Howdy all! I'm dipping my toes into paid DMing by running a live text game of Way of the Wicked--a D&D5e conversion of the Pathfinder module where the party gets to play as the bad guys for a change! For those unfamiliar, the first book of Way of the Wicked entails our villainous party escaping from an infamous prison, joining a cult, then destroying the last bastion holding back an invading force of bugbears, taking them from levels 1 to 5. Depending on how the group feels, I may continue the game after level 5 as there are additional books that take the campaign up to level 20. This is a LIVE TEXT game! That means that players will all be available at the set session time every week for 3-4 hour sessions but all in-character narration and out-of-character communication is done via text through Discord. We'll also be using Foundry VTT for rolls and combat/battle maps. You will need a computer in order to use Foundry, it does not work well on mobile. You do not have to make an account or anything to use Foundry, it runs in your browser. This is a PAID game! I am charging $15 per player per session and I anticipate this campaign to take at least five sessions but given the slightly slower pace of live text compared to voiced sessions, it may run up to eight or more. We will play at 3 PM Mountain Time every Saturday and Session 0 will be free. This is my first time running a paid game and the first time using StartPlaying so if the price point or the time slot doesn't work for you, please shoot me a message on Discord to let me know what would work for you and I may be able to adjust the time/price depending on the responses I get as I've got a little bit of wiggle room. About Me I've been playing in and GMing TTRPGs for about eight years now, almost entirely in live text and asynchronous pbp games as I feel I'm a much better writer than I am an orator. I enjoy text games as I feel I can deliver a more complete picture of locations, scenarios, and characters, including the details that might go unnoticed in a standard voiced game. I also will use pictures as visual references where applicable. Most if not all of the images come from the book, they are not AI generated. I have run this module before via play by post so I am very familiar with the source material and can provide a quality experience that is hopefully worth paying for. Interested in playing? Hello, I am a GM looking for players to run the shadow dark adventure The Lost Citadel of the Scarlet Minotaur. Shadow dark is a rules light system reminiscent of old school D&D. LGBTQ+ Friendly The Misty Vale was once the heart of the Dragon Empire. The ruins are littered with wealth, monsters, and secrets to ancient power. Adventurers, treasure-seekers, wandering knights, mystics, rogues, and oddballs alike all have their reasons for braving the dangers of the Vale. What’s your reason? I’m looking for players for Dragonbane, specifically the Secret of the Dragon Emperor campaign, though I’ll be modifying and expanding parts of it. It is a classic adventure fantasy setting. We will be using Discord for voice, and Foundry for dice, maps, character sheets, etc. Sessions will be on Saturdays at 11:00am EDT, and will typically last 3 to 4 hours. New players welcome. No prior experience with Dragonbane or other TTRPGs required. The system is very easy to pick up. I tend to run games that are immersive and conversational. I like players who engage with the setting, interact with the other PCs, talk to NPCs, pursue their own ideas, and treat the world like a real place instead of a sequence of encounters.
