Hello, I am Chris and trying to make some extra cash on the side to aid with some financial struggles, that being said- Thank you for reading and I hope to see you in Obojima- My new game about "leisure" fantasy where the players are wandering around a bright, colorful world- with mysterious and deep, emotion challenges in their journey! The cost of this game will be $12 / Month, or $3 / Session - With the First Session Free! 🍵 About the Game🍵 Welcome to 🏝️Obojima🏝️ a vibrant island overflowing with ancient spirits, cozy coastal towns, and forgotten ruins. Deeply inspired by Dungeon Meshi, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, and the wondrous worlds of Studio Ghibli, this game focuses on cozy, character-driven adventure. We’ll focus on local mysteries, Japanese folklore-inspired myths, foraging for potion ingredients, and cooking meals around the campfire as your party builds closer bonds along the way. If you enjoy (or want to practice) deep role-play, meaningful character moments, and exploring a living world where the journey matters just as much as the destination, this table is for you. Encounters are treated more like puzzles to solve rather than brutal fights to the death, magic feels lived-in, and the stakes are deeply personal. Grab your gear, bring a good appetite, and let’s tell a great story together!  🎲 What I Offer as a DM     6+ years of DMing experience across multiple TTRPG systems.     Full willingness to teach the system and TTRPGs in general no prior experience needed!     LGBTQIA+ friendly space with a dedicated Session 0 to establish safety tools and expectations. 📋 Requirements & How to Join     18+     Discord account (for audio/text) & Google account (for character sheets)     Press that Contact Me button, or send me a friend request and DM on Discord Expressing your Interest!

In their absence darkness, once held at bay and sleeping now looms and strangles the land. Ancient secretes held by the gods begin to unchain themselves. Across the lands many suffer disease, hunger, corruption, and the monstrosities that now roam once guarded lands. Vampire princes rule the west, pompous knights and elves the southern lands, Northern tribes fight, raid, and spill both foreign and the blood of their own. While the once great power of the Burach Empire Chokes and fall to its own corruption. But even in a world this cruel, there is still hope. Your stories will define your world weather for good or ill. Faillier and death are expected, while hope flickers to your decisions. Will you defy fate's flame, or snuff it out to fight darkness with you own? ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ About the DM: I'm a DM focused on creating immersive, character-driven stories where your character's history, relationships, and decisions genuinely matter. I lean toward cinematic storytelling, meaningful roleplay, challenging combat, and building a living world that reacts to what the players do rather than forcing everyone down a single path. ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ Character Creation: We'll create characters together during onboarding, so you don't need a finished character beforehand. We'll be using the 2024 D&D 5e rules, starting at Level 1, with your backstory woven directly into the world and campaign. grounded: the helix organizations mistakes

Homebrew Homebrew
Newbie friendly Newbie friendly
The Helix Initiative was introduced to the public as a revolutionary leap in environmental adaptation, biological medicine, and survival science. Officially, the organization claimed it was developing new ways for humanity to survive ecological collapse, disease, and resource shortages. Behind closed doors, however, Helix operated hidden research divisions dedicated to experimentation far beyond legal or ethical limits. Somewhere deep within those divisions, a scientist identified in surviving records only as Dr. W██d████ T████ developed a machine capable of shrinking living organisms to less than an inch tall. The technology was presented internally as a breakthrough in resource efficiency and medical research—but many of the subjects brought into testing were children between the ages of eight and sixteen. Most never returned. You are one of the survivors. After undergoing the procedure, you awaken inside an ordinary city park that has become an impossible wilderness at your scale. Blades of grass tower like trees. Puddles become lakes capable of drowning entire groups. Ants patrol the dirt like armored soldiers, while spiders transform sections of the park into web-choked death zones. Every inch of terrain matters. Every storm is catastrophic. Survival depends on learning how to weaponize the environment itself—crafting tools and defenses from thorns, sap, insect shells, broken plastic, roots, and scavenged debris left behind by previous miniature civilizations that clearly did not survive for long. As you explore deeper into the park, you begin discovering abandoned outposts, collapsed shelters, and fragmented Helix logs detailing increasingly unstable experiments. The records reference attempts to create “evolutions chosen suvivors” capable of evolving beyond normal biological limits. Again and again, one phrase appears alongside heavily censored personnel files: MARROW SYNDROME. The disease slowly destroys the body in stages—first decaying bone tissue, then muscle structure, and finally flooding the lungs with blood. Somewhere among the corrupted files are hints that Dr. W██d████ T████ never joined Helix out of loyalty. Some logs imply he infiltrated the organization to expose its corruption, free the surviving test subjects, and continue researching a cure for a terminally ill child connected to the syndrome. Whether those rumors are true remains uncertain. Helix officially denies the existence of both the disease and the scientist. Not every strange thing in the park comes from Helix laboratories. Survivors occasionally encounter a bizarre figure known only as Rock—a hyper-muscular talking bee obsessed with shouting “MUSCLE” at every possible opportunity. Most groups dismiss him as insane until they realize he understands far more about the park than he should. One moment he acts like a reckless coach forcing terrified children to become stronger, and the next he casually references erased facilities, failed experiments, or “previous attempts” that nobody else remembers. Near the edges of abandoned Helix sectors, Rock sometimes becomes unusually quiet, staring into empty space before muttering warnings that sound less like jokes and more like genuine fear. HE IS WATCHING YOUR EVERY MOVE...

Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
Hollows of Iparea [Text-based] Pitch: You have arrived on a dying planet with no recollection of how you got there. Something is terribly wrong, that much is certain, and worse yet, the planet itself appears to be living. Thralls of an unintelligible hive mind are the only remnants of intelligent life to be seen, and you see echoes of past civilizations in abandon everywhere around you. Your crashed vessel and memories offer no help, and whatever happened here, your survival may depend on a species you cannot understand. System: 5e legacy Tools: Discord, Owlbear Rodeo (VTT). This is a text campaign, you do not need a mic. D&DBeyond sheets are preferred but any others are allowed. Schedule: Fridays, 5 PM - 7 PM EST. Seats: 6 Expectations Game: Players of all experience levels are allowed, but I ask that beginners have a basic understanding of the game's mechanics and know how to create a character beforehand. My DMs are always open for any questions, comments, or concerns about the game. I ask that players don't use AI for responses or for character art. Flying races and Warforged (they don't exist in the setting) are banned. Rudimentary firearms are a thing, and gunslingers are allowed, but modern firearms and technology do not exist. Homebrew is not allowed for classes, and any other homebrew must be run by me. UA and official WotC material is, of course, allowed. 18+ is preferred, and this game is strictly 16+. Characters start at 5th level. Themes: In a nutshell: semi-sci-fi, high fantasy/cosmic horror. This game's overall themes revolve around memory, identity, and isolation. This game also involves elements of survival horror, and resources will be tracked (and scarce). Tone: Overall surreal, bleak, and atmospheric. Safety Tools: TTRPG Safety Checklist & pre-game interview. You can reach out to me at @paws4reason on Discord.

An unwitting Paladin has released an ancient Lich. Jailed for ages, it is now back and undead assault the living with renewed vigour. Can you stop it?* *Welcome to the Somnium Shard. A sundered paradise; knowledge, gods and power's all known throughout the land, its history coveted by lost tomes, cosmic knowledge and crazed minds. With earliest carvings detailing a different world that may have been the Shard's muse, the inspiration for reality. However not all could be replaced, and the world's panorama was in its own natural discourse, with the residents at home.* Hello and this is the introduction to my most recent open game for my homebrew world, The Somnium Shard. The game is a special edition of my normal open sandbox style that focuses instead on the undead and release of a lich. The theme of this game in particular is that of dealing with undeath and all of the horror and creatures that come with it. There is still a lot of room for your backstory, side missions and all manner of varying fun however the over-arching narrative is tied to this. As a sandbox, you are welcome to tackle this threat however you see fit of course as the world is open to you however with this pre-established major threat. The game is beginner friendly and we are happy to help you get into the game and learn it, For all the other details: * We play on Roll20 and Discord * Schedule: Weekly from 11pm UTC Sunday for 3-4 hours every session * Cost: 18$ per sessions * Starting level from 1-3 discussed with the full party of 5 once we start, we are waiting for a full group to hopefully see the game through with for as long as possible. * 18+ As this game will involve alot of horror, undeath, afflictions and curses. I am however open to a discussion about a specific topic that you'd rather avoid, we can go over it. * Game Link: [https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmstlszzy000pjo04rf1vxnkm](https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmstlszzy000pjo04rf1vxnkm) * Discord: Proxy4D So with all that out the way please do shoot me a question if you have any, I'd be happy to answer and I hope youre having a great night aside from that. I do also have some alternative game times so have a look at my profile if you want a different slot that youre interested in.

Welcome to the Somnium Shard. A sundered paradise; knowledge, gods and power's all known throughout the land, its history coveted by lost tomes, cosmic knowledge and crazed minds. With earliest carvings detailing a different world that may have been the Shard's muse, the inspiration for reality. However not all could be replaced, and the world's panorama was in its own natural discourse, with the residents at home. With that overly grand intro done welcome to my personal world, a multi-year labour of love that I'm still working on with every session, a sandbox type world for players to discover, learn about and influence as they desire. Designed as an open campaign for players to fit into as they wish, follow the threads of their backstory, or start a questline that leads to them swearing loyalty to a kingdom. Whatever it is you feel you want to do in a fantasy world I'll accommodate it as well as I can. However do not think that this means everything is free, the Somnium Shard is still a living and breathing world, thievery, murder and the sort will have consequences, as will trying to steal that magical artifact. You'll have to contend with mages scrying on you, rangers tracking you and bounty hunters after you if you upset the wrong people. So come and join the adventure, see where your characters can take you, how they can evolve and develop in this world with a DM that can handle whatever you feel like throwing at him. A BIT ABOUT ME: Hello, my name is Aron, I’m 34 and I started playing this game as the forever DM just before COVID hit and have been DMing multiple weekly games since. I am for the most part fairly introverted which this hobby has helped deal with, and while I may not do all the little funny voices (it’s a thing I’m working on) I’m a sucker for the Rule of Cool and a good story! And what better story then one you build together as a collaboration with other like minded individuals?! Outside of D&D my interests revolve heavily around music, movies, and other general nerd things

Pirate Borg seeking 1-2 more players

Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
Newbie friendly Newbie friendly
Greetings, scoundrels, thieves, rogues, and pirates. I'm running a short to medium length Pirate Borg campaign and looking for 1–2 more players to join the filthy ranks. You'll be thrown into a lethal sandbox in the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy, where war, undead horrors, occult forces, and general madness are dragging the world toward apocalypse. You won't be playing heroic do-gooders. You'll be desperate bastards with loaded pistols, questionable morals, and whatever ambitions you can keep alive long enough to pursue. There is no predetermined story you're expected to follow. Characters are randomly rolled, death is very much on the table, and what you do with the miserable life the dice give you is entirely up to you. Become a legendary pirate. Steal a ship. Hunt horrors for silver. Get filthy rich. Become an exotic undead drug kingpin. Start a war. Or simply try to survive the end of the world. I've already got three solid players, and we're setting sail next Monday. Sessions run weekly on Mondays at 7 PM PT for roughly 3–4 hours, using Foundry with Discord for voice. The crew is established and the game is happening, no weeks of session zeros or waiting around to get things off the ground. Pirate Borg is rules-light and easy to learn; no experience is required. Roll a character. Play next Monday. If you're interested, shoot me a DM with a little about yourself, why you want to join, and what you're hoping to get out of the game. We'll go from there. Bring rum. Bring powder. Bring a spare character.

The Land Beyond the Fog

Hello, I'm Bartek and I dm a soulslike homebrew DND campaign, heavy roleplay and engaging combat. With a very immersive, and active homebrew pantheon. The players are now at session 3 of the campaign and about to enter some catacombs, however 2 of our players have had to leave due to their own personal lives, giving us 2 extra slot This is the prologue the players received in session 1, to give you the vibe of the campaign. The fallen leaves tell a story... Of a land beyond the fog. Before kingdoms. Before war. Before the names of kings were carved into stone... There was Vita, Mother of All. From her hands came the first trees, their roots piercing the untouched earth. From the trees came the first plants. From the plants came sustenance. Then came the beasts of field and forest, given breath beneath the newborn sky. And at last... Vita created Man. But there was only one. His name was Vex. The First Man. In those earliest days, Vex was a gracious ruler. He built where there was nothing. He nurtured what was fragile. He gave order to a world yet untouched by war. And beneath Vita's watch... His people prospered. Yet life, once born, does not remain still. Vita bore within her the promise of three children. And where there is creation... It must cast a shadow. From the darkness cast by Vita's own existence came something that bore but one name. Umbrosus. The Eternal Dark. It dwelled where sunlight dared not reach. Beneath roots. Beneath stone. Within the forgotten places of the world. At first, it knew nothing of Man. Nothing of Vita. Nothing of the tongue spoken by living things. But it watched. And it learned. Slowly, Umbrosus crept into the dwelling of Vita. It learned the language of its creator. It listened to the voices of her children. And in the stillness of night... It heard the beating of Vita's heart. One heartbeat. Then another. Then... three more. For within the Mother slept the unborn children of the world. Mortuus The Golden Child. Distortus. The Forgotten Son. Enchidna. The Mother of Monsters. Three children. Untouched by the world's cruelty. Three souls destined to inherit the Mother's creation. But Umbrosus reached them first While Vita slept... The shadow entered the womb It did not kill them. It did something far worse. It left within each child an ember of itself. A darkness that not even the Mother's light could wholly extinguish Kings may bury their crimes. Civilizations may burn their histories. Gods may attempt to erase their mistakes. But time continues. And eventually, time reveals all And so... The children of Vita were born carrying a fragment of the shadow. And now... Our world bears the weight of it. But where there is shadow... There is light. Light that finds its way through the cracks. Light that refuses to die. Light that does not merely shine... but roars And now... There is only one question left. Dear adventurers... Will you heed its call? If your interested in joining please either DM me or leave a comment. :)

Whatever the opposite of a railroaded adventure is, this open-world campaign is that. The rules are simple. The world is complicated. What happens to it is up to the players. You will hear rumors, discover locations, meet competing factions, and encounter problems, but the game will not tell you which direction you must take. Some things the players have chosen to do so far: Join the local mercenaries to learn the ways of the sword as a mage - Retrieve an old lady's purse - Become war chieftain of an orc village - Decapitate a wight with a cursed sword Also some new races that are crafted to play and feel very different: - Pixie - fly, perfect hiding, cast phantasmal forces at will, insults cause physical damage to you - Orc - infra-vision, can recruit monsters more easily Races and classes are kind of blended together. Multiple characters are encouraged. Each choice allows you to do something that appears to let you break the game, while saddling you with something else that seems debilitating. This is by design, and players have come up with a few ways of getting around and abusing these things to the betterment of the story and lore. - Fighting-Man - Doesn't have to actually be a guy, but is a human. Can use all weapons and armor. - Magic-User - Has one spell, one "shot". Can meet with magic learned peers to exchange knowledge. The most notorious spell in the game right now is Charm Person because it doesn't wear off like in later editions. - Cleric - The best of the two above, but must be Good, and by the Law. - Elf - Essentially a Magic-Use/Fighting-Man with extra perks and ties with elves and the ability to sense magic, enhanced senses, etc. but capped at a certain point - Hobbit - Capped early, but can hide flawlessly in urban areas and snipe REAL good with slings. No magic. - Dwarf -  Capped early, but high resistance, good with all axes and hammers, can sense what stone touches and its shape, and ties with and extensive knowledge of dwarven culture and holds. There are major events going on in the background but instead of shoving players in the middle of them, I showcase the developments of those events that come about, for good or ill. The players decide what to investigate, whom to trust, which dangers are worth confronting, and what their characters want to accomplish. How many hirelings do you need to bring with you? How much can you do successfully alone to maximize profit? Play alone, 1-on-1 with DM and player, or up to 10 others at once. The world continues to develop around the party. Factions pursue their own plans, NPCs remember your actions, enemies adapt, settlements can change, and neglected situations may grow better or worse. Player choices can permanently reshape the campaign world. Let me know if you are interested!

Welcome players, to the continent of Tamriel! This campaign will be using the UESTRPG system, and will be set in the province of Cyrodiil at the end of the 3rd era (right before the events of Oblivion). The game may depart from the source material or stick to it depending on what the group decides. I'm new to GMing, but I'm excited to explore this world that we've all grown to love over the last 20+ years and willing to put in the work to make this an enjoyable experience for you all.  Send me a message if you're interested!

DnD Community

Newbie friendly Newbie friendly
Adult Adult
Hey everyone! I run a D&D community called Session Zero. We’ve had incredible growth over the last few days with so many amazing new faces joining us, and we are looking to expand our tables! Our main goal is simple: create a relaxed, welcoming space where people from all over can get together and just enjoy playing D&D. What to expect: Players Welcome: We have several campaigns spinning up that are actively looking for players. We have games spanning multiple timezones, so if you want to play, there is a seat waiting for you! No more scrolling through Forums for a table!  Calling EU DMs (and beyond!): While we are thrilled with our active player base, we are on the hunt for EU based DMs to help run some games. We have a few EU campaigns starting up, but getting more rolling is our top priority! (And of course, we are still welcoming DMs from outside the EU as well!) DM Perks: I have a large DnDBeyond book selection I share with DMs running games in here. Fully free! The Vibe: Whether you're a longstanding DM looking to find a new group of players to take on a magical adventure, or perhaps wanting to get into the DM chair for the first time but need some support, you will be more than welcome. Our player base is a mix from never playing a game before to years of experience, so come grab a stool in our laid-back 18+ community. It's not just 5e! We have a game looking for players that's Pokemon, fallout, daggerfall etc!  Please reach out with any questions or if you wish to join!

It is the post apocalyptic future of the world of RIFTS.  “300 years in the future, our shattered Earth is recovering from the Great Cataclysm.  An event that wiped out human civilization, brought about the return of magic and has Made Earth into something both familiar and alien.  Humans transform and augment their bodies with bionics, robot exoskeletons, psionic-inducing Brian implants, chemicals, and magic to survive.” “Tears in space and time — the Rifts — are doorways to anywhere.  Open one and step through it to travel anywhere on the planet in a matter of seconds.  Aliens and supernatural beings use them to travel across the Megaverse to arrive on Earth.  You are one of the champions, the heroes of mankind, or an explorer or truth-seeker who braves the savage wilderness and dares to face the demons, dragons, aliens, and weird creatures fro the Rifts.” Keven  Siembieda Hi, I am looking for players, new or experienced to play a campaign of Rifts in post-apocalypse Europe’s New German Republic, Gargoyle Empire, and surrounding area.  Ideally, 4-6 players would be great. I propose weekly Sunday, voice games starting at 4pm Pacific Time Zone (GMT -7, currently).  If the party wishes to begin earlier or later, I am a little bit flexible. We’ll begin with a session 0, to discuss the type of campaign we’d like to explore and create characters.  This is the original game that is similar to previous D20 systems, that was created in the early 90’s.  (This is not the Savage Worlds Version.)  I will be using the RIFTS Ultimate Edition and particular books, which will limit the available character classes.  Please read the listing for more information, feel free to post a question, or dm me. To the Camarilla, it’s a gilded cage. The year is 2016. Prince Vermeulen has wiped the court floor clean to make room for a fresh generation of neonates. You arrive in the City with a target on your back, drafted into a game you don’t yet understand. Here, your word carries weight, and your loyalty to the Camarilla is your only shield — for now. Beyond the polished marble of Elysium, older factions and darker mysteries are waiting. Every alliance has a price. Every secret is a weapon. Your actions will test your Humanity and shape the City. Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
Known by all, loved by many, the most popular and respected Grand Duke of Baldur's Gate in the city's history, a legendary hero and adventurer of years past, Abdel Adrian, also know as Gorion's Ward, is about to give a speech at The Wide - the biggest plaza in the Upper City of Baldur's Gate often used as a marketplace. The occasion for the speech is the Returning Day - the most important Baldurian holiday when people celebrate the return of the famous sailor Balduran from Anchorôme to Faerûn, who brought unbelievable riches from his voyage back to his home village of Gray Harbor some 400 years ago and ordered the fortification of the village and building of the city walls around it, thus founding Baldur's Gate. You are among the spectators, the audience at The Wide, ready to witness the living legend. But something goes wrong. Terribly wrong... Starting from that day, you will be caught in the middle of a whirlwind of catastrophic events that would signify the beginning of the Second Sundering - the cataclysm that would later shape the Forgotten Realms as you know them. 🏙️ The Prophecy of the Flying City — a political

Paid game Paid game
A hundred years ago, an empire tried to lift an entire city into the sky. It failed and the city fell, sealed underground ever since. Now the great houses, guilds, and cults down there are tearing each other apart over whatever's left of the ritual that doomed them. That's the table you'd be joining. 🗝️ 🕐 When: Wednesdays - 1:00 PM EST / 12:00 PM CST / 11:00 AM MST / 10:00 AM PST - (6:00 PM GMT+1 for my European folks 👋) 💰 Price: $10/session Session Zero is completely free 🖥️ Platform: Roll20 + Discord voice 🎭 Tone: Political intrigue, subterranean survival, layered NPCs, real consequences for your choices What to expect: - Mystery-driven roleplay where talking your way out of a fight is just as viable as fighting your way out - NPCs who lie convincingly, factions with real agendas, and a world that remembers what you do - A DM who preps every week so the story keeps moving no matter what your party decides What I bring: custom maps, ambient music/soundscapes, and official 2024 D&D content, all set up ahead of time so we spend our session actually playing, not troubleshooting. What you bring: a character concept (new to D&D? no problem, I'll help you build one), a mic, and a willingness to get your hands a little dirty in the politics of a buried city. This is a welcoming table rule of cool always wins, every character concept is respected, and there's zero pressure to "play D&D perfectly." Total beginners and veteran players are equally welcome. 🎲 📖 Full write-up: https://ash55555.github.io/blog/flying-city.html 🌐 All my campaigns + schedules: https://ash55555.github.io/ Interested? I'm a game designer, and I'm looking for a group of great players to help me playtest the crap out of it. Anyone willing to playtest will get a free digital copy of Prosperon on the house. I was thinking of running sessions every other week on Saturdays, since I already run a podcast campaign weekly. If you're interested, sign up and let’s have a blast. To give you an idea of the gameplay style, it’s about 65% roleplay and 35% combat, though that really depends on the group’s dynamics. If you all want more combat, I can absolutely make that happen. The game is a cyberpunk/biopunk mix set in a dystopian society on a distant planet far from Earth. Humanity colonized a world called Khaelmora, later renamed Prosperon by the human settlers. If you're interested, let’s get those dice rolling and have a good time. I just wanted to add that I’m also looking to start a play‑by‑post group. I still want to run a VTT game, of course, but a play‑by‑post format could be fun too.

Due to some of my players needing to leave the campaign because of scheduling conflicts I am once again looking to fill up the possible roster with an additional 1-3 players. The campaign is mainly very player choice driven, even though there is a main plot line for the world in which the dead 3 players a big role (the 3 gods that share the domain of death: Bhaal, Bane and Myrkul) Currently the group is in the capital castle, searching for someone who knows more about the dead 3 and their growing influence on a slowly crumbling and dying world. I'm open to all players, genders, ethnicity and all things that can be used to make people feel left out, except for those who actively themselves are opposed to certain people  My players are all quite new and most haven't played before joining my campaign. We're all young adults (around 18-30s) Hopefully some guys will like to join as well since rn I'm a guy who's the dm to a group consisting of mostly biologically female friends and I'm worried that the next girl who joins will question whether I'm creating a harem 😂 Jokes aside, if you feel like you want to try me out as a dm, get into dnd or just want a friendly and open minded group, you're very welcome to join us!

Unbound Playtest

Looking For: 3-5 players for an in-person playtest Location: Millbrook / Prattville / Wetumpka (Montgomery area works too) Play Style: In-person, tabletop, fantasy adventure Experience Needed: None Character Creation: Required (part of the playtest) Schedule: Flexible evenings or weekends System: Original homebrew RPG (not DnD) Description: I’m looking for 3-5 players to help me playtest a fantasy tabletop RPG I’ve been developing. This is an in-person game. I’m in the Millbrook/Prattville/Wetumpka area and can host or meet locally. This is not a DnD variant. It is its own system with custom mechanics, a nine-god cosmology, a dead god cult, and escalating divine threats. The goal of this playtest is to put the system through its paces and see how well character builds hold up in real play. Character creation is part of the test.  You will build your own character using a quickstart packet and a simple text-only sheet. I want to see how intuitive the process is, how players approach builds, and where the system needs refinement. What I’m offering: In-person oneshot or short arc Full character creation session A structured adventure designed to stress-test the rules A GM who has put way too much work into this and wants to put this sombitch through its paces What I’m looking for: Players who enjoy fantasy adventure People willing to give feedback In-person availability in the Millbrook/Prattville/Wetumpka area If you’re interested, message me here on Groupfinder. I’ll send the quickstart rules and character creation info. Thanks, and I hope to roll some dice with you soon.

About Freelancers The Osmosis Galaxy. The only one that life as we know it, inhabits. One with its own oddities, but for which we take for granted. And for the longest of time... we thought there were no frontiers left. No unexplored regions to search and traverse. Apparently, we were wrong. Even if the old Osmosis Confederation has been dissolved for four decades, it seems those who've taken from their ashes, have begun making their moves. Their rump-state successors on Mandas, the home of all of Humanity, still continues to decay silently. But after the treaty of Sorreuire, another entity sprung into action... The ASTROMINA™ Corporation, armed with many stubborn veteran fleets and soldiery from the old Confederation, turned back the Confederation's eldest adversary: The Velixian Imperium. Staking its claims of space from Samn Hocc, all the way down to Vispensis and Octora. It may be small, but these systems and worlds, were once the heart of the Confederation's economy. With this new-found productivity and economy, their leadership turned to governing their taken spoils. But one of them, unknown to all but his representative to the Board of Directors, has other plans. He recently began hiring mercenaries, laid-off veterans, and many other people. As personal soldiers of his. Mercenaries, whom eithere were trained, or went through training, to become on the level of spec-ops units. All apart of a project he called the "Freelancers Program". Although they're tasked with missions, meant for in-general espionage, targeted sabotage, and mission-assistance to the corporation's Corporate Armed Forces, this unknown ringleader had another idea in mind. Unbeknownst to others, he sent a special contingent of them to the Sardia system. The closest to the galaxy's resident anomaly: The Photonic Curtain. A ring of pure photons, a curtain of light that interrupted the FTL systems of anyone who came even 100's of Astrons to its outer edge. Under the pretense of eliminating resistance from the galactic fringe-dregs known as the Pioneers, this special Freelancers contingent makes it way to the Sardia system. Supported by a small Corporate Naval escort. While they make for the surface of worlds like the swamp-world Coscia, this unknown head of state, plans to move them past the Photonic Curtain. Even if means he'll have to brute force the crossing, past the blinding lights that make up the curtain. As for you, those of the newest batch of Team Theta? You'll simply have to endure on Coscia. Whatever that entails, you have a mission to do. Best get to it. What you'll find in Freelancers a. An entirely unique and interesting world, complete with a full homebrew system that plays into the "Mercenary/Spec-Ops" gameplay of the setting. b. Lots of choices to make, and room to travel to unknown and previously unexplored systems and worlds. Beyond the outer shell of the "Photonic Curtain" c. NPCs that become your "Companions"; Those that'll join you in your missions, and fight alongside you. As well as having relational dispositions towards you and others, that you may influence and later find out about. d. Even as a Freelancer, your backstory and legacy impacts the lore of the world. e. Though serious enough, there are still light-hearted moments that may appear to cheer you up or give you a decent chuckle f. And a lot more for you to find out about! Does any of this, or all of it, sound excellent to you? I hope so! DM me if you are, and if you can, include any further questions you may have about the roleplay. I hope to see you soon, Freelancer!

Paid game Paid game
The year is 2062 - nearly three decades after the world fractured. New Haven stands as a survivor - a walled city of rationed lives, corporate power and carefully maintained lies - where institutional failings, personal tragedies and collective trauma breed psychic horrors beyond comprehension - dubbed "SINs". That's where CAIN and its Exorcists - psychically awakened hunters who (still) hold control over their will and abilities - come in. When the truth is buried, someone has to step into the dark - investigate, contain, and decide what’s worth saving before the city breaks again. ════════════════════════════════════════════ ⚠ Hunters of the Psychic Sea ⚠ is an Episodic Campaign of CAIN TTRPG, a system inspired by horror-action anime and fiction (Chainsaw Man meets S.C.P.) and focused on a structure of paranormal investigations and deadly combat, with the use of other-wordly psychich abilities - "Blasphemies" - to slice open both the world and opponents with player creativity. As Exorcists at the service of CAIN, explore an uncaring, walled dystopia as you sniff out hidden truths, track down SINs and "wipe away the stain" however you see fit, in a wide set of investigations growing more and more dangerous... Will you threaten, bribe and kill? Or empathize, aid and protect? All is sanctioned - as long as the mission is complete. Do you have what it takes to survive the Psychic Sea? Or will you drown with the rest of the graceless?

ABOUT: This adventure takes place in the Sansinukob Wildspace. This system has 13 planets, held together by a dead and forgotten god at the center. There are no suns here, only moons to illuminate every planet. Fifty years ago, a monstrous sea serpent named Bakunawa awakened from her slumber, consumed by endless hunger. She consumed all six moons above planet Tawalisi, one by one, until they were left in darkness for thirty years. Twenty years ago, the datu, Maximo Catubig, invented Bulan Lights, magical lamps that emit artificial moonlight, finally bringing light back to his people. They were a solace, soon placed in every home in Tawalisi. The people were finally able to thrive again, and Maximo helped pave the way to further technological advancement. However, decades of darkness had taken its toll; Some of the citizens of Tawalisi have become consumed by the same hunger that possessed Bakunawa, mutating their bodies and destroying their minds until all they can think about is eating the Bulan Lights. They will stop at nothing to consume all sources of moonlight, and will hurt and kill anything and anyone that gets in the way. Datu Maximo has called for help from all adventurers willing to listen. Assist him in installing these lights wherever he can, so he can save his people from being plunged into darkness again. ROTFRONT Survival-horror

Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
Newbie friendly Newbie friendly
Survival horror, sci-fi  campaign based on the indie game "SIGNALIS" , played with  modified cp-red meccanics. ________________________________ You will find yourselves on the frozen moon of Rotfront, where the Hayades multi-function maintenance station has ceased communication with the outside world and things are taking a strange turn... all while a mysterious state of emergency is declared. In this campaign, you can choose from a wide range of roles based on the survival horror game "SIGNALIS"—a sci-fi communist dystopia featuring retrowave technology. Your characters can be either a Replika (a biomechanical construct based on a mental pattern) or a Gestalt—an ordinary and "free" Eusan citizen. GAMEPLAY: -Roleplay -Combat and scarce resources: Although most CP mechanics will be heavily overshadowed by resource scarcity, the campaign's survival horror mechanics ensure there is never a dull moment. This campaign may contain: gore, sexual/psychological themes, and—above all—cosmic horror; madness is not a matter of "if," but of "how much." (18+) The campaign's homebrew content includes: -Races and models (Gestalt, Replika) -Changes to cyberware compatibility -Addition of a new weapon type (carbine) -Buffs to automatic fire and SMGs; changes to certain rates of fire -Various exotic weapons -Buffs to certain cyberware -Bioresonance mechanics Billing: of course you will never be asked to pay to play or to continue playng, but donations are wellcome and help me keep putting all the effort i put on the games i run. (A lot, too much probably)

WHFRP4e game

I run an online table top role-play group I have long running game of Warhammer fantasy role-play 4th edition (5yrs+) that runs every Saturday night from 20:30 GMT (uk) until 00:00 or 02:00 depending on peoples commitments the next day. We have two slots that have opened up and are looking for players to fill them. No experience in Warhammer or table top role-play required were happy to help people enjoy the game. We also use Foundry VT which does the majority of the rules for you its also free to players. We use discord for communication. this game is free If you’re new to WHFRP its D&D but with more parts that want to kill you. For example in D&D you cast a spell. In war hammer you have to charge up the magic and then cast the spell theirs always a risk of unexpected side effects or someone’s head exploding. It leads to a deeper experience but lacks the action of being the main characters you get in D&D.

What Hides in Mountain Stone

Paid game Paid game
Newbie friendly Newbie friendly
Hello everyone, Alex here! I am a new GM on Start Playing, and I am looking for players for my mini campaign. I am hoping to become a full-time GM and figured this was the best way to start. A bit about me: I've been a GM for 7 years. I am an artist, illustrator, animator, voice actor, and writer. And I absolutely love roleplaying!  Game Premise: In the world of Anangnibi (pronounced Ah-nahng-nee-bee) there looms a threat to the local towns and villages outside of a major port city called Agonan Mizhakwad (pronounced Ah-goh-nahn Meez-hahk-wahd). Reports of attacks have become more frequent and many have claimed to see a flying creature up within the mountains. Maps indicate that there is an old fort that has been empty for quite some time in the area. The local authorities have put up a reward for heroes to go and investigate the area and find out what has been happening. You as the heroes will find yourselves walking into the mountains to find the old hold, and once you get there, you'll find out that you have gotten far more than you bargained for. Who, or what, awaits within the halls of old abandoned stone? And will you survive the secrets within? Or will you be claimed by death much the same as those of the poor raided villages? Death lurks here, cold and indifferent like the sitting stone. You will need your strength and wit if you want to survive. So be prepared to face the challenges and discover the mystery of what hides within the mountain stone. Game Price: $25 per person  Session count: 1-3 sessions Session length: 4-5 hours Player Character Level: 5 System: D&D 5E Sourcebooks accepted: PHB 14, XGE, TCE, VGM (Other sourcebooks are open to discussion) Homebrew and 3rd Party: Open to discussion More information and details about the game can be found here on the Start Playing post: https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmt21mabu0037l404tjn7c32u?ref=cmrmikhi800frl704k6ca84nl  Content warning: While I am a newbie player friendly DM/GM, the game I am running is a DEADLY game with a DEADLY dungeon; your characters have a high chance of dying. Please keep that in mind for this game. If you are not okay with character death, this may not be the game for you.  If you have any additional questions, please feel free to message me, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.  You can also get some more general information about me as a GM, as well as read previous player reviews through my Start Playing GM Profile here:  https://startplaying.games/gm/alexthedmpanda Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

The galaxy is changing… and not for the better. The Yuuzhan Vong have arrived from beyond the known galaxy, bringing living ships, terrifying biotechnology, and a hatred of machines that has already left entire worlds in ruin. The New Republic is struggling to respond, the Jedi are stretched thin, and the hyperspace lanes are filled with refugees, rumors, and fear. In the middle of this chaos, you are part of a small crew trying to survive and make a difference. Maybe you’re Jedi trying to understand this strange new enemy. Maybe you’re soldiers fighting a desperate delaying action. Smugglers, scouts, diplomats, and survivors all have a place in a galaxy where the rules of war are rapidly changing. This campaign will focus heavily on roleplay, character choices, and the personal stories that unfold during a massive galactic war. Expect tense negotiations, dangerous missions behind enemy lines, moral dilemmas, and moments where your characters must decide what they’re willing to sacrifice to protect the galaxy. The Yuuzhan Vong are coming. Who will your character be when the galaxy needs heroes… or survivors? Looking for GM and Players.  Saturdays 10:00 AM GMT Does this day and time work for you, and can you reliably make the sessions? How old are you and how much RPG experience do you have? Do both you and your character work well in a team? Are you familiar with Saga Edition and do you have a copy of it? What is your character concept?

Specimen Unknown

Eli Boone grew up in a small agricultural town in Ohio. He's a friendly, loyal, hardworking guy with strong small-town values. He believes in helping people, keeping his word, and doing what's right. He wasn't always a believer in the supernatural. That changed during a family trip to Wisconsin. While visiting his uncle, Eli experienced what appeared to be a genuine haunting: cold spots, voices, the sensation of being watched, and other unexplained events. During the same trip, his family's car was chased by what Eli believes was the Beast of Bray Road. On the drive home, the family witnessed two unidentified objects in the sky. Three completely different paranormal experiences in the span of one trip convinced Eli that the world was considerably stranger than he had thought. He posted about the experiences online, expecting people to think he was crazy. Most did. But one organization took his story very seriously. The Aegis Foundation The Aegis Foundation is a recently established international organization that publicly presents itself as a humanitarian and charitable organization dedicated to protecting people and improving lives. Behind the scenes, however, Aegis knows that monsters and other supernatural phenomena exist. The organization has wealthy international benefactors, extensive resources, official connections, rigorous training programs, and a growing network of facilities. It is also extremely bureaucratic and secretive. Aegis wants monster specimens—dead or alive—for reasons that aren't entirely clear. Eli was recruited immediately after high school and became the first paid field Hunter employed by Aegis. He's been extensively trained and equipped, and he's genuinely proud to work for them. Aegis gave him a purpose and took him seriously when everyone else thought he was crazy. The catch? Eli doesn't actually know what Aegis ultimately wants. And neither do I. I'd love to explore that mystery during the campaign. What I'm Looking For I'm hoping to find a Keeper who is interested in taking this premise and running with it. I'm particularly interested in: Monster-hunting and investigation Character-driven stories A little mystery surrounding Aegis The occasional horror, but not necessarily nonstop grimdark Humor and fun between the scary stuff Characters who have reasons to care about each other Collaborative worldbuilding The possibility of the characters gradually discovering what Aegis is really doing I'm new to Monster of the Week, so I'm looking for a group that's welcoming to someone learning the system. I'm not expecting the campaign to revolve around Eli or Aegis—I'd like the other players' characters and stories to be just as important. If you're a Keeper looking for a campaign idea, or a player interested in joining something like this, I'd love to hear from you.

We're starting an Invincible campaign using the Free League publishing Invincible game based off the comics/animated show on amazon and we need a few more players. We play on Foundryvtt; Official system. Everything is drag and drop. We're a laid back crew. Decent amount of RP. I try to keep combats fun. No "stand-and-swing" action if I can help it. Invincible is Superheroes. We're starting low-tier, like the comic/show. Sessions run about 4 hours, rarely longer. Often a little shorter, but try to average 4 hours. So we start at 3 and end at 7 (scheduling is flexible. Depends on players. We can start as late as 5:30 or 6. It's up for discussion.)

The Throne of Solaris The golden spires of Hellios still catch the morning light, just as they have for a thousand years. The Sun Banner still flies above the Imperial Palace. The hymns of the Church of the Sun still rise from a hundred temples. Outwardly, the heart of the Solarian Empire beats as it always has. But the Sun-Blood no longer sits the throne. Emperor Aurelius, last living descendant of the Sun God in the direct line, lies silent in the Solar Chamber. Physicians, priests, and arcanists have come and gone. None can wake him. None can even name the strange lethargy that holds him. Until he recovers—or until the bloodline is secured—the empire cannot rule itself. The Imperial Council has therefore invoked the ancient right of Regency. Five names now stand before the empty throne, each backed by power, gold, steel, or faith: Edward, Duke of Gryphon — Master of the Merchants’ Guild and Head of the Librarium. Leontis, Viscount of Neolum — Son of the Archon and Grand Crusader of the Church of the Sun. Septimus, Prince of the Capital District — Captain of the Royal Guard. Stephan, Archduke of Ironheim — Master of the Forges and champion of the common folk. Zadakiel, Marquess of Fellgahv — Head Justiciary and Grand Master of the Order of the Black Wing Knights. Each claims the right to speak for the sleeping Emperor. Each has allies who would see their candidate elevated—and rivals who would see them fall. The court is a web of whispered deals, old grudges, and carefully measured smiles. Blood has not yet been spilled in the marble halls… but the air is thick with the promise of it. You are not the great lords. You are the ones who move between them: investigators, diplomats, agents, and observers with the skill—and the opportunity—to learn what others will not say aloud. The Council will not appoint a Regent in ignorance. Someone must cut through the intrigue, expose the truth behind each claim, and guide the choice toward stability rather than civil war. The sun still rises over Hellios. How long it continues to shine may depend on what you uncover in the shadows of its court.

Chrome Fires Burning: a Cities Without Number cam

Newbie friendly Newbie friendly
LGBTQ+ friendly LGBTQ+ friendly
Looking for players for a CWN campaign tentatively titled “Chrome Fires Burning.” Voice is on Discord, VTT will probably be roll20. Everyone is welcome, the only rule is don’t be a dick. Games will be Sunday nights at 9PM CST Elevator pitch is as follows: The year is 2072. In 2025 the development of a new drug, ephemerol, lead to unbelievable advances in cybernetics and technological implantation. Able to bridge the gap between the nervous system and machine circuitry, ephemerol was hailed as a miracle drug, ushering in a new age of transhumanism However, before this new technological golden age could be upon us, it was smothered in the cradle by corporate greed. A jealousy guarded secret, the corporations who developed it held the formula for the miracle drug hostage, demanding corporate sovereignty in exchange for granting access to the masses. A combination of public promises, lobbyists, and paid politicians ensured this deal went through The gift became a double edged sword as the drug was distributed, only working with the cybernetics supplied by those corporations granted sovereignty, allowing them to gobble up more and more influence, to the point that entire cities have become little more than corporate towns, beholden to the companies that own them Within these sovereign territories, anything that threatens the bottom line is meet with brutal consequences. The workers who decided to rise up, to unionize, were branded criminals and domestic terrorists, locked away if not executed in a back alley Public utilities have been sold off little by little, leaving those who refuse the hand of the corporations with rapidly dwindling resources. The once mighty governments of the world now forced to bend the knee to the oligarchs Gangs run rampant, acting with impunity as long as their dues are paid, or left to their own devices due to lack of resources to stop them Despite this turmoil, there is new opportunity. Companies now fight a desperate war for market share, managers willing to pay to sabotage one another for the next promotion. Money talks, and right now, it’s screaming Chicago is one such battleground. Built into a shining edifice as the headquarters of several massive corporations, it now resembles a patchwork of countries, as each corporation claims sovereign territory within the blocks of city property it lays claim to. A hub of trade even in this time, boardroom battles spill out on to the streets, bullet and blade picking up where ink and negotiation fail

The Ashen Crescent

Homebrew Homebrew
Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
What kind of game is this? This is not a casual dungeon crawl. The campaign has already begun, the party is currently level 7 and mid-way through the first act, and we are seeking new companions to join the story as it continues to unfold. The Ashen Crescent is a long-form, ambitious D&D 5e campaign inspired by the Third Crusade, told through a lens of faith, prophecy, and political intrigue. Imagine a holy city where banners of rival religions hang side by side; where incense and blood mix in the same streets; where ancient relics, half-remembered prophecies, and bitter oaths drive men and women to fight, pray, and betray. Set in the grand desert city of Elarah, you will step into a world of: Crusade-era conflict: rival faiths clash over relics and scripture, each believing salvation is theirs. Early medieval aesthetics: swords, shields, banners, cloisters, and bazaars. No very high fantasy tropes. Magic is semi-rare and mystical. Low fantasy, high stakes: the miraculous feels sacred, not common. Politics and belief matter as much as steel. Moral ambiguity: there are no clear villains, only zealots, survivors, mystics, and opportunists. Or so you think... The factions are: Luminari — the Sun-faith of order, dawn, and light. Sulahim — scholars, jurists, and fire infused desert camel-lords. Yeshari — cunning keepers of covenant, memory, and exile. Wayfarers — silk road traders, mystics of prisms and hidden paths. Your choices shape the city’s destiny. Who you kneel to, who you betray, which side you protect. All of this carries weight. The System & Tools System: D&D 5e+ (characters tracked on D&D Beyond). VTT: TaleSpire. Custom 3D maps and set pieces (requires a PC with semi-decent specs). This entails that either you have the $24.99 version of the game (Steam), or you are able/willing to buy it. Also, you will need a mini (best created in Hero Forge). Please adjust for that. ⚠️ Important ⚠️: This campaign is essentially a paid-level production offered free. I am building custom TaleSpire boards, art assets, lore documents, and immersive narrative arcs. Because of that, I expect the same level of seriousness/commitment from players: punctuality, reliability, and a willingness to roleplay. Seriousness doesn't mean no fun allowed. In the end, we all seek the escapism and fun found withing D&D. Seriousness instead means commitment, and reciprocating the same effiort I put into giving you this story. Schedule Main Session: Saturdays @ 5:00 PM EST Fallback: Fridays (same hour) when attendance issues arise Sessions are multi-hour, roleplay-heavy, and story-driven. Combat will be present, but when it hits, it HITS! What I’m Looking For I need players who will commit long-term. Respectfully but firmly: if you are just looking to scratch a quick D&D itch for a couple of sessions, this is not the game for you. This is a campaign built to last, and every time someone leaves, it disrupts immersion and damages the living story we are building together. This campaign has been going on for around a year, and it doesn't look like it will end anytime soon. Use this as reference to the commitment you will be making. I’m seeking: Reliability & punctuality: Respect everyone’s time. Commitment: Stick with the campaign until its conclusion. Since this story has already begun, reliability is even more important. New characters are stepping into a web of alliances, rivalries, and prophecies already in motion. Ambition: Players who actively pursue goals and drive the story forward. Love for roleplay: Dialogue, tough moral choices, faction intrigue. Good mic + capable PC: Technical reliability is part of the immersion. How to Apply If this speaks to you, especially within the scope of commitment, send me a DM or post a comment with: Name/Age/Timezone Confirmation you can commit to Saturdays 5 PM EST (Fridays as fallback) Confirmation that your PC can run TaleSpire + mic confirmation Your D&D experience (new/casual/veteran) A short character seed (2–4 sentences: motive, flaw, and which faction intrigues you so far) Why you’re looking for a long-term campaign, and why does this one resonate with you From there, we’ll schedule a short Discord interview to ensure compatibility. This isn’t meant to gatekeep. It’s to protect the story, the group, and the time we’re all investing. Why Join? Because The Ashen Crescent is designed to feel like stepping into a living chronicle. Think the Crusades retold in a D&D world. A city of temples and markets, faith and blood, prophecy and steel. If you’ve ever wanted to be part of something epic, morally complex, and richly atmospheric, this is it. If you’re ready to swear your oath and carry it through to the end — Elarah awaits. Here synopsis about most of what has happened so far: Each of them crossed the Kesareth Desert alone, drawn by purpose, faith, or something they could not fully explain. Their paths converged at a Wayfarer caravanserai, where strangers became companions out of necessity. From there, they set their sights on Elarah, the sacred city at the heart of the desert, said to be a place where prophecy, power, and belief all collide. Days into their journey, the sky erupted in a storm of falling stars. The heavens burned with unnatural color, and those who witnessed it were forever changed. A crystal-like mark formed on their right forearms, alive in ways none of them understand. It reacts. It pulses. It seems to answer to something beyond them. When they finally reached Elarah, they found its gates sealed. The city had already begun to fracture under the weight of its own faiths. Forced to slip inside through the sewers, they were met with a truth far worse than rumor. Elarah is not simply tense. It is unraveling. Within its walls, four competing faiths struggle for control, each convinced they alone hold truth. Law is enforced with severity in the Ink Row, where rulings are swift and often merciless. The streets are filled with unrest, quiet fear, and the sense that something inevitable is approaching. Amid this instability, the players found footing with the Red Company, a powerful mercenary force tightening its grip on the city. They offer work, protection, and information, but never freely. Every favor has weight, and every agreement draws the players deeper into a web of ambition and control. After making a rash decision to stand for their morals, the group feel the consequences of their choices. Hunted by half the city, and narrowly escaping a close brush with the punishment hanging over their head, they leverage what little favor they have left with the Red company to arrive at the four pillars, the birthplace of a faith that spans the known world. There, the party found both a new truth and a new purpose under King Baldwin. Following the command of the King, the party sets sail into the Levantine sea, heading into Anatolia to investigate the lack luster support given by one of the holy orders to the defense of Elarah. On their way there, the captain screamed for the party and crew to man the defenses, chaos erupting as they scramble: fumbling over ropes in the cramped deck; on the horizon: three ships appearing on the horizon, sails raised at full mast, rushing into combat range. A grueling sea battle ensued, ballista cracks and screams filling the air; through skill, planning, trust, and faith the players managed to barely escape with their lives at a great cost. Now stranded in the middle of the sea, exhausted, lost, and clinging to life; the players will be tested in a hostile and unforgiving environment; surrounded by miles and miles of deep water, they must find a way to their destination. Or at the very least survive. The party stands at a crossroads. War is no longer a distant threat but an approaching certainty. Each faction calls for loyalty. Each path carries consequence. The question is no longer whether Elarah will change, but who will shape what comes next. And whether this fragile alliance of strangers can survive long enough to choose.

The Orcus War: The Deadfall

Welcome to The Orcus War: The Deadfall. Yesterday, the world was normal. Today, it is not. Overnight, the Deadfall arrived, a creeping blight that drains life, warmth, and memory from everything it touches. The sky is paler. The air is colder. The dead are not staying dead. Something happened in Chult. An ancient witch doctor named Mursai has risen, and the heroes who tried to stop him fell. You know fragments of what came before: a half-orc paladin, a grave robber chosen by the Raven Queen, a wizard marked by a hag, and a warlock who lost everything. They fought, they died, and they bought the world one day. A sage named Renzox escaped the Fane of the Night Serpent; he knows what must be done and is in Waterdeep, waiting. A tiefling bard survived a massacre at Blackwood's Fortress; her mind may contain something useful, but she doesn't remember it. The noble bloodlines of Waterdeep carry the curse in their veins, and their blood may be the key to undoing it. The previous party failed, but their failure was not meaningless. They left a path. The hammer is waiting, and we are looking for players who can create a new character that shares a deeply woven connection to this unfolding story. To ensure you know what you are applying for, please listen to The Orcus War actual play on the Paradox Storyforge YouTube channel before submitting your application. What kind of character concept are you thinking of bringing to this campaign? Application Form: https://forms.gle/FcBbLk4zRzxnxwUCA

Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
No politics of any kind: right, left, sexuality, real world religions, excessive feminism/whatever etc not allowed, if you have a need to make a fuss about that, you will be kicked out. It's perfectly fine to have those views, but don't bring them to the game (this is meant to be fun, social, intellectually challenging). If you have major psych problems that get in the way of simple social interaction (explosive outbursts etc) don't contact me. I do ask for telephone number just in case of you not showing up to game and you didn't tell me otherwise. Emergency stuff, like if you get sick or something. I do care about my players! 1 Give me warning 24 hours before the game if you are gonna cancel. I need the time to tell the others and cancel the game if I don't have enough people to play. This is non negotiable! 2 Play well with others. If you are too disruptive, I will boot you after several warnings. 3 Take a different role each new campaign. Try new things! 4 You have to show up to play 75% of the time. If you cancel too many times, there's no point to having you in the group. 5 Sometimes you will be required to take a role you don't really want because the rest of the group made their picks already, this is meant to help the group have versatility. If this happens, the next campaign I will make sure you get first pick as to your role/class. 6 If you have to make sacrifices for the group, like blowing feats on item crafting etc, I will try to send good things your way. Teamwork is important. I have been GMing since 1997 or so, cut my gaming teeth on AD&D first ed. I go above and beyond for my players. I am very adept at teaching, btw. This campaign is on Mondays at 6pm Central time Discord video chat, but we could change time/day if the other players are willing and able. Set in Chicago, I've added abilities to the NPCs to support their discipline powers, and set the whole timeline from Chicago 1 to 2 and beyond more gradually, changed who lives. Note that I have changed some of the clans a bit, like switched Gangrel and City Gangrel, turned certain Brujah into True Brujah, a Ventrue into a Nosferatu, that sort of thing. Vampire has characters that are difficult to create if you don't know how the numbers and discipline powers work (you distribute dots, there are no classes, so you need to make the character with my help so that you get the most potency possible for what you tell me you want to do). However the game play dice mechanics/rules are easy as heck. The hard part is that it demands more forethought to play, because there's a lot of deceptive NPCs, including your own. It is oddly more ethical/moral than medieval fantasy games by far, even though you don't play a hero normally, and even though you're a vampire feeding on humans and aren't human yourself. It's darker I suppose, lots of intrigue and figuring out what is really going on. Kinda like watching Babylon 5 or Dune, you have to take notes to recall everything that could be vital later. A LOT less combat than medieval fantasy games! It's rare, but nasty when it does occur. Maturity is advised. Note that I broke my campaign down in a timeline, it can be altered yes by PC actions, even down to the year and month.  VERY DETAILED homebrew campaign that can be changed given PC choices. RIght now they are in late 1990, you will get the PC's average xp to start with, along with a host of extra little benefits outside what the creation rules normally grant. You dictate the parameters, I figure out how to make the mechanics do what you want and tell you about potential problems, and I pick out flaws so as to give you your own story arc.  Official list of clans/bloodlines you can take in Chicago compatible with the group as it is: Nosferatu (must take Dark Fate flaw), Toreador, Ventrue, Brujah, Gangrel (Sabbat), Malkavian, City Gangrel (Camarilla), Tzimisce (must take the Dark Fate flaw), Gargoyle, Caitiff (Anarch typically), Assamite (Milwaukee Sabbat), True Brujah. The Dark Fate flaw means that your PC is destined to die by Antedilivuan during the end of the world. That doesn't mean you can't play, you can still run other characters even after your main one croaks. Obscure list (you can take them if you want, but you won't have support from fellow clan members in Chicago): Daughter of Cacophony, Nagarajah, Salubri (Warrior and very Camarilla), Lamia.  Got a Cappadocian (a hospital morgue doctor), Salubri (one healer(an FBI agent), one watcher (a homicide Chicago police detective), and Lasombra (an amateur boxer and criminal lawyer, he wants to go Camarilla). We have a Tzimisce plastic surgeon and medieval weapon enthusiast who sometimes does stunt work for Hollywood, the player is starting Monday Aug 31st. I have set up each pc to have fast growth, to have really good rolls for their disciplines right away. You gotta also pay for mentor ratings since you need a teacher to increase your disciplines outside of Celerity, Fortitude, Potence. If you pick from the obscure list, you can BUY up to 7th generation, but you blow 6 background dots to pull it off.  Caitiff are interesting, I made them able to teach ANY discipline they learn; normally the 13 clans can only teach their clan disciplines. A Tremere is possible, but you'd need to be a diehard Anarch (meaning the local Tremere want your keister dead, although good news for you that the Chicago ones are less than competent). At the moment, the only Discipline nobody has clan access to is Celerity, but there's a lot of clan proprietary powers that nobody has. There is a 5 pt merit that allows you to buy an additional clan discipline, by the way, and in my version of Celerity you need lots of Wits, but nowhere near as much vitae points. If you don't know the clans, I can give you information but you will need the V20 core rulebook (learning the setting and abilities but not the disciplines), the dark ages core rulebook (mostly just for the super powers/disciplines), tome of secrets (all forms of vampire magic, even obtenebration), and Erciyes Fragments (this will feature heavily in the campaign, its the Vampire bible of sorts including prophecies) books. Also a total of 20 d10's, basically two matched sets of 10 d10's, but the 2 sets cannot match each other. Preferably translucent dice, not solid. Chuck out any that have bubbles inside. Game always starts at 6pm central. The Guide to the Camarilla from the Revised edition might be handy, but not strictly necessary. Prince's Primer is nice for understanding elder vampires' mindset. This is a copy of an update I gave to a player that missed a session: Both Michael Payne and Son are dead, and Jay found another body in the basement, this time of a dead boy, a formerly months old vampire. His name was Neon, and Damien of the Brujah one of 2 anarch leaders was caring/teaching for Neon, Damien will have to be told. Neon was chained via manacles to the basement floor in Son's Skokie residence, his throat ripped out and his face gnawed upon. Evidence was found that Son was blackmailing Horatio Ballard into insane and demeaning acts. You could get a major boon from Ballard using this. Ballard apparently has been naughty. Michael accidentally killed Son, and Michael is dead thanks to the party knocking him into torpor, and the elders ending him. recall, Michael was suicidal, and homicidal plus had a rep for being a thug who used to cause chaos your character just rescued the young couple that Son was psychologically torturing, and you shot michael (bashing damage, just reduced him to torpor) as he tried to use Ben as a shield

AVATAR: THE SEVERED AGE "They told us the elements were sacred. Then they put a price on them, a chip in your skull, and a payment plan on your soul." The Premise Korra has been dead for three years. In the decades before her death, the Spirit Portal in Republic City stopped being a miracle and became an energy source. Spirit vines spread through the city's foundations, rail lines, power grid... and eventually into people. Engineers learned to route chi through circuitry. Ripperdocs learned to graft it into flesh. What should have taken a century took thirty years. The world woke up neon. Today, anyone with enough money or enough debt can buy bending. A non-bender walks into a corporate storefront, signs a financing contract for a Chi Emulator, and walks out throwing fire like a Fire Nation soldier. The Equalist dream came true. Not through revolution. Through retail. Every implant comes with a hidden cost. The more chrome you install, the quieter your own chi becomes. Benders slowly lose their connection to the elements until, eventually, they become Severed. No spirits. No bending. No way back... at least, that's what everyone believes. Meanwhile, somewhere in the world is an Earth Kingdom child who should have become the next Avatar. They are three years old. No one has found them. The White Lotus has searched for years without success. Some believe the child was born spirit-deaf. Others whisper a corporation found them first and is quietly discovering what an Avatar's soul is worth. Some fear the Avatar Cycle itself is breaking. Everyone is searching for the same missing child. You'll either find them first... ...or discover why no one else ever could. What You Can Play: A traditional bender trying to preserve a dying art. A Severed ex-bender willing to burn the world to reclaim their element. A Ghost, projecting their spirit into the digital Weave where something ancient may already be waiting. A ripperdoc, fixer, mercenary, or corporate Emulator runner drowning in debt. An Air Nomad who has rejected cybernetics entirely, remaining one of the few souls still fully connected to the spirits and uniquely capable of healing what technology has stolen. Themes: Cyberpunk noir Corporate corruption Spiritual horror Identity and humanity The price of progress Hope in a broken world This is a campaign about difficult choices with permanent consequences. Expect street-level jobs, corporate conspiracies, spirits hiding in fiber-optic cables, desperate people trying to reclaim what they've lost, and quiet moments between the action that remind everyone what's worth fighting for. The central question is simple: What are you willing to trade away... and can you ever get it back? System: Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (custom Avatar conversion) No prior Savage Worlds experience required. No Avatar knowledge required. All rules and setting information will be provided. The game is fast, cinematic, beginner-friendly, and focused on character-driven storytelling. "Chrome is easy to buy. Getting your soul back takes a lot longer." This game costs $20 per session

The City never sleeps, and as a Moonlighter, niether will you! MOONLIGHTERS is a high-stakes Dungeons and Dragons campaign set in a fantastical version of the modern day. The players take the role of Moonlighters - part time adventurers who operate after dark. Are you a college dropout Elf? A pixie attorney specialising in Magic Item law? A gnome taxi driver? Whatever your reason, while the city sleeps, you Adventure! Players will form an Adventuring Party, working the Adventuring gig economy in the Big City. They'll choose from available jobs, meet wacky clients, and co-operatively worldbuild and expand on the city with the DM in the process. Will you stage an elaborate heist at the Museum of Villainy? Fix a Wizard Duel for a down-and-out gambler? Explore the forgotten catacombs of the public graveyard? It's up to you! More here: https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmq7tyim4007bjs04bh2hluyy?q=moonlighters  Each of the player characters will have a day job, which will be narratively incorporated into the story. If your single dad Orc is an accountant by day. maybe they'll notice some irregularities in the companies magical accounts. If they're an exhausted sound technician for a bratty DJ, maybe they'll have some connections to the shadier side of the city. During a Session 0, we will all discuss the general tone of the game the players are in the mood for. Player characters could all be friends fresh out of college, living out a coming-of-age Jon Hughes movie (with oozes and werewolves), a group of reluctant oddballs flung together in a workplace comedy, or desperate individuals just trying to make ends meet in a brutal, unforgiving city. The choice will be communal, and can always evolve with the narrative. I will discuss privately what each player wants to see, and what they never want to see in game. I'll make sure everyone is on the same page without drawing attention to any individual player's needs. The games is $20 per session via Startplaying. Alternatively, you can message me if you would rather pay another way.

Homebrew Homebrew
Hi everyone. I'm Jon. I've been a DM for about 9 years. This is a complete homebrew setting with its own rules and pantheon. This campaign is the first of a 4 part mega-campaign (not required for this story) called The Tapestry of Velithria or The Velithria Paradox (I can't decide). The Campaign - "We promise you terrible pay, no fame, and an unmarked grave. But the things that go bump in the night? They will have nightmares about you." Magic is a gift from the ancient Guardians; a spark we use to slaughter the monsters trying to reclaim our lands. You’ve been recruited by an elite covenant of hunters to travel the vast, living world of Cascoria, from holy nations to forgotten temples. What to Expect in this Campaign: The Vibe: High fantasy adventure mixed with light gothic horror and tough moral quandaries. Deep Lore: A living, breathing world full of politics, prophecies, and ancient mysteries. Epic Encounters: Cross paths with legendary Mage Knights, the 5 Great Sages, and NPCs with their own hidden agendas. Trust your instincts. Are you ready for the hunt? Candela Obscura Campaign - The Unremembered

Newbie friendly Newbie friendly
Horror Horror
I'm working on setting up a free Candela Obscura campaign sometime soonish, still writing everything up and working out the details. It would probably be Friday nights, 8pm-12am EST. ⚠️ Warning: I'm horrible at character voices and not the greatest narrator due to my anxiety but I love writing stories that people can play and build upon. Still considered a newbie DM and have never ran this specific module(?) So we'll be learning some things as we go, together. Great for beginners!  https://discord.gg/xNNrt8Pa  Will be adding more about the game in the link above. A good friend and awesome DM is letting me hijack a small space on his server.  Check it out even if you aren't interested in my game. He'll be adding more fun content and he currently runs some great campaigns, they aren't free but totally worth it 😁  If you have any questions for him, his name is Lawbind. Any questions for me, my discord name is Liramear (Courtney). Hope you all enjoy your day 😊

Special Investigations, A Play By Post Hunter Game

Paid game Paid game
The streets of Los Angeles are plagued by supernatural phenomena like no other. With that in mind, some higher command in the Los Angeles Police Department is maintaining an off-the-books task force that deals with trying to hunt down these issues. You are being transferred to a division enigmatically referred to as "Special Investigations". Everyone assumes that Special Investigations is just some special PR name for cases involving high-value individuals, but you'll come to find out there is much more to it than that. You are a member of the LAPD (though not necessarily a cop yourself, often members from the motor pool, forensics, or the like can be transferred in) who has unknowingly started to see and be aware of the supernatural. It could be anything as dangerous as witnessing a vampire feeding or genuinely discovering that the dead walk the streets near Hollywood Forever cemetery. Whatever you decide that supernatural you have come into contact you are a budding hunter, and this government-backed organization wants to put you on the path of fighting these supernatural threats to your city. It's time to Protect and Serve to a degree you never thought possible, but you better be ready to work nights! Please be mindful that this is a Play By Post Game, which will be done almost exclusively through text. Daily plot progression posts will be made throughout the week, and players will get a guarantee of 4-5 responses from me per day at minimum as we develop the story. Players are charged weekly at the 'session' time posted on the game information page. Join link:https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmrl7zsli003dlc04zwkbmhto

Hello and welcome to your first adventure in the world of Dungeons & Dragons! If you want to join a fresh adventure but are not sure where to start, this is the perfect place for you. I am Glacial (gringo), an experienced Dungeon Master with over 12 years of experience running various TTRPGs such as Cyberpunk RED, D&D 5e, D&D 2024 (5.5e), and Daggerheart. Even though I have GMed for many different groups all over the world, my favorite remains Dungeons & Dragons—especially for beginners. I just can't get enough of seeing people discover this game (the best game ever made) for the very first time! I currently host a Discord server with over 40 players, most of whom are currently playing or have played in my games. You are more than welcome to hop in and ask them about the campaigns we've run! We have a great global community with players from the US, UK, Poland, Hungary, Finland, Romania, Germany, and beyond. The Campaign: A Customized Faerûn Experience Now that the introductions are out of the way, let me present you with my completely customized Faerûn experience! In this game, you will have the chance to be part of a story that revolves fully around your character's lore. I take the well-known world of Abeir-Toril and Faerûn—including iconic locations like Baldur's Gate, Waterdeep, Candlekeep, and Neverwinter—and build a brand-new campaign setting after discussing interests with my players. We could go on an adventure all the way to the Thay Mountains to battle the Red Wizards, venture into the dangerous jungles of Chult to uncover the mysteries of a forgotten land, or stick to the crowded, familiar cities of the Sword Coast where adventures are always abound. What You Need to Jump In The only things you need to do are add me on Discord, have a working microphone, and set up a Roll20 account (which I am happy to help you with). I will explain everything else! I will make sure everyone at the table knows how to play, and I will walk you through character creation step-by-step. You need literally zero experience to join. With that said, experienced players are also fully welcome! The cost of the game will be ranging from: $15 - $20 depending on the days we choose and the number of players.  What are you waiting for? Add me on Discord: gringo1380

4 Pig's Hollow One Shots

D&D 5E Every other Thursday Night 6PM Eastern Time. This is not a campaign, but a series of 4 one shots set in the village of Pig's Hollow.  * Wilber the Not so Bad  Part 1 & Part 2. - Wallace inherited the deed to a wizard's tower, but he has come upon hard times and wants to sell it.  But there's a catch, the wizard went off adventuring and never dame back, so there are probably guards and wards set up to keep people out of the tower. * Mr. Frogs Boring Ride. - A grung pearl merchant needs guards to help escort him thru a dangerous pass, but of course something goes wrong.    * Jim and the Pumpkin Patch - an interesting twist on Jack and the Beanstalk.

Where Land Breaks

Welcome! This is my homebrew campaign using the ryoko's guide setting!  Some key notes, to save us all some time: This campaign has limited races to choose from, being only humans and the ones from ryoko's guide. We will be exploring many difficult topics over the course of this campaign, but I do not want real world issues at my table. The hook of this campaign is that the player has been offered a gift, a deep and personal desire by a spirit of the kaiju, for unknown reasons. These cases aren't unheard of and are actually growing in number.  The player has the choice to say yes or no, other than that I would love to discuss further on my discord @kaybold_
