No politics of any kind: right, left, sexuality, real world religions, excessive feminism/whatever etc not allowed, if you have a need to make a fuss about that, you will be kicked out. It's perfectly fine to have those views, but don't bring them to the game (this is meant to be fun, social, intellectually challenging). If you have major psych problems that get in the way of simple social interaction (explosive outbursts etc) don't contact me. I do ask for telephone number just in case of you not showing up to game and you didn't tell me otherwise. Emergency stuff, like if you get sick or something. I do care about my players! FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT PLOT AND GROUP COMPOSITION! 1 Give me warning 24 hours before the game if you are gonna cancel. I need the time to tell the others and cancel the game if I don't have enough people to play. This is non negotiable! 2 Play well with others. If you are too disruptive, I will boot you after several warnings. 3 Take a different role each new campaign. Try new things! 4 You have to show up to play 75% of the time. If you cancel too many times, there's no point to having you in the group. 5 Sometimes you will be required to take a role you don't really want because the rest of the group made their picks already, this is meant to help the group have versatility. If this happens, the next campaign I will make sure you get first pick as to your role/class. 6 If you have to make sacrifices for the group, like blowing feats on item crafting etc, I will try to send good things your way. Teamwork is important. I have been GMing since 1997 or so, cut my gaming teeth on AD&D first ed. I go above and beyond for my players. I am very adept at teaching, btw. This campaign is on Mondays at 6pm Central time Discord video chat, but we could change time/day if the other players are willing and able. Set in Chicago, I've added abilities to the NPCs to support their discipline powers, and set the whole timeline from Chicago 1 to 2 and beyond more gradually, changed who lives. Note that I have changed some of the clans a bit, like switched Gangrel(Sabbat) and City Gangrel (Camarilla), turned certain Brujah into True Brujah, a Ventrue into a Nosferatu, that sort of thing. Vampire has characters that are difficult to create without my assistance if you don't know how the numbers and discipline powers work (you distribute dots, there are no classes). However the game play dice mechanics/rules are easy as heck. The hard part is that it demands more forethought to play, because there's a lot of deceptive NPCs, including your own. It is oddly more ethical/moral than medieval fantasy games by far, even though you don't play a hero normally, and even though you're a vampire feeding on humans and aren't human yourself. It's darker I suppose, lots of intrigue and figuring out what is really going on. Kinda like watching Babylon 5 or Dune, you have to take notes to recall everything that could be vital later. A LOT less combat than medieval fantasy games! It's rare, but nasty when it does occur. Maturity is advised. Note that I broke my campaign down in a timeline, it can be altered by PC actions, even down to the year and month.  VERY DETAILED homebrew campaign that can be changed given PC choices. RIght now they are in 1991, you will get the PC's average xp to start with, along with a host of extra little benefits outside what the creation rules normally grant. You dictate the parameters, I figure out how to make the mechanics do what you want and tell you about potential problems, and I pick out flaws so as to give you your own story arc. Its also a great way to get rid of problem NPCs. The Dark Fate flaw is reserved for anyone meeting their end during Gehenna, the end of the world. See, the Antediluvians rise, and they are hungry for their clan members.... That doesn't mean you can't play, you can still run other characters even after your main one croaks. Official list of clans/bloodlines you can take in Chicago compatible with the group as it is: Nosferatu (must take Dark Fate flaw), Toreador, Ventrue, Brujah, Gangrel (Sabbat), Malkavian, City Gangrel (Camarilla), Tzimisce (must take the Dark Fate flaw), Gargoyle, Caitiff (Anarch typically), Assamite (Milwaukee Sabbat), True Brujah (Camarilla). Obscure list (you can take them if you want, but you won't have support from fellow clan members in Chicago): Daughter of Cacophony, Nagarajah, Lamia. Got a Cappadocian (a hospital morgue doctor and a necromancer), Salubri (one Healer(an FBI agent), one Watcher (a homicide Chicago police detective), one Salubri Warrior that also has Celerity as clan, and Lasombra (an amateur boxer and criminal lawyer, he wants to go Camarilla). I have set up each pc to have fast growth, to have really good rolls for their disciplines right away. The party could use a member that has Vicissitude, Animalism as clan, or possibly Thaumaturgy. Luckily there's a 5 point merit that allows anyone to buy clan xp rates, hint hint.  If you go into this expecting to create your character without regard to the setting or the group composition, you can kiss your entitled butt goodbye. Even if I did nothing different as GM, the group would suffer and your PC might not make it. I do get your back when I get the chance if you are willing to try a clan you don't normally. You gotta also pay for mentor ratings since you need a teacher to increase your disciplines outside of Celerity, Fortitude, Potence. BTW, I made these 3 powers much easier to use, and less vitae expensive. If you pick from the obscure list, you can BUY up to 7th generation, but you blow 6 background dots to pull it off.  Caitiff are interesting, I made them able to teach ANY discipline they learn; normally the 13 clans can only teach their clan disciplines. A Tremere is possible, but you'd need to be a diehard Anarch (meaning the local Tremere want your keister dead, although good news for you that the Chicago ones are less than competent). If you don't know the clans, I can give you information but you will need the V20 core rulebook (learning the setting and abilities but not the disciplines), the dark ages core rulebook (mostly just for the super powers/disciplines), tome of secrets (all forms of vampire magic, even Obtenebration), and Erciyes Fragments (this will feature heavily in the campaign, its the Vampire bible of sorts including prophecies) books. Also a total of 20 d10's, basically two matched sets of 10 d10's, but the 2 sets cannot match each other. Preferably translucent dice, not solid. Chuck out any that have bubbles inside. Game always starts at 6pm central Mondays. The Guide to the Camarilla from the Revised edition might be handy, but not strictly necessary. Prince's Primer is nice for understanding elder vampires' mindset. They are very manipulative, and deceptive. I am using V20 for most of the fluff, with slight alterations to politics, the abilities for the most part. DAV20 is for the disciplines, the special powers. I can get you pdfs of the two core books free. We are also using Ercyicyes Fragments and Book of Nod in the campaign, the party just got a copy of both by accident. Yes, I will be taking the campaign into the end of the world, Gehenna. Lore of the Clans and Lore of the Bloodlines might be useful. This is a copy of an update I gave to a player that missed a session: Both Michael Payne Toreador and Son of the Malkavians are dead, and Jay found another body in the basement, this time of a dead boy, a formerly months old vampire Caitiff. His name was Neon, and Damien of the Brujah (one of 2 anarch leaders was caring/teaching for Neon) Damien will have to be told. Neon was chained via manacles to the basement floor in Son's Skokie residence, his throat ripped out and his face gnawed upon. Evidence was found that Son was blackmailing Horatio Ballard into insane and demeaning acts. You could get a major boon from Ballard using this, or use it against him in other ways. (the players gave this information to the Nosferatu, who now owe them big time)  Ballard apparently has been naughty. Michael accidentally killed Son, and Michael is dead thanks to the party knocking him into torpor, and the elders ending him. recall, Michael was suicidal, and homicidal after the party ended his ex wife. plus had a rep for being a thug who used to cause chaos your character Salubri Healer just rescued the young couple that Son was psychologically torturing, and you shot Michael (bashing damage, just reduced him to torpor) as he tried to use Ben the Cappadocian as a shield

D&D. DM is looking for the players (16-18+)

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Monday, Tuesday A group decides on day & time Most people will probably play between 16:00 – 21:00 (GMT+0) It'll be played in a Discord voice chat "Theatre of the Mind" playstyle (means no VTT) Discord (weebseatshit) *PREMISE* You are dragged into a dangerous encounter together with other unlucky ones. Now you are bonded whether you want it or not. Since you are a witness, some people want you dead, watch your back(s) & trust no one It's an RP-focused, casual, beginner-friendly Forgotten Realms based homebrew campaign, with an emphasis on story & adventures Ratio: 60 Roleplay/30 Exploration/10 Combat Starting level is 1, Point Buy, Milestone leveling Spells become cantrips, a player can cast them without components or GP Cooldown of spells depends from their power level & the DM's will, but if a player is gonna spam spells, i'll Elfen Lied him or put some shit like Leo Bonhart from Witcher  Some spells that affect game's balance & world, may be forbidden. It'll be discussed HP are cinematic. Depending from how much & what kind of damage a character receives, i'll adjust his condition Only these races are allowed: Human, Elf (Moon, Wood), Dwarf, Goliath, Tiefling (Purple, Pink, Blue), Tystling (a human with cat ears (& eyes)) Artificer & Psion aren't allowed I'll describe locations & looks with little to no detail Just like with the books, i'd prefer that every player imagined their own stuff (& because there may be an info that player may not get or just ignore) About forbidden spells As an example, this is only level 1 Wizard, but i hope you get an idea Mending Charm Person Detect Magic Detect Poison and Disease Friends Unseen Servant Tasha's Hideous Laughter Sudden Awakening Sleep Sense Emotion Puppet Identify Id Insinuation Healing Elixir Disguise Self Comprehend Languages Cause Fear Ressurection & lethal spells Instead of using ability checks or in-game tools (acquiring unique items, talking to people, searching for clues, improvise), a player casts a spell that speedruns a campaign But a player can prepare all other spells A tystling is similar to a cat Monochrome darkvision Enhanced senses: smell, hearing, vision, touch & balance (+3 Dexterity, Perception, Acrobatics) Soft step: walking is almost noiseless (unless a tystling has something noisy on), running is slightly quieter comparing to other races (+4 Stealth) A tystling is shorter than an elf, but taller than a dwarf A tystling is slim like an elf, but lighter than an elf, with smaller muscles. That makes a tystling even more agile & dexterous than an elf, but it's very hard for a tystling to lift or carry medium heavy things (8 AC, -5 Strength, Athletics)

Karrax - A Fantasy Homebrew Campaign

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Platforms: Roll20, Discord for voice chat Starting level 3. Point Buy, Milestone leveling. Players needed: Additional 3-4 players, currently have 1. Beginner friendly, so no prior experience required. Flexible on dates/ times, but should be open to play between 14:00 - 23:00 (GMT+0). Sessions will aim to be around 2/3 hours, but this can be adjusted should the group desire. Can be weekly or bi-weekly, exact slot to be agreed with the group in advance. The campaign takes place within a fantasy setting. Roleplay, combat, and exploration will all be incorporated equally throughout the campaign, but this can vary based off the nature of the session.  All official races and classes (except artificer/ psion) are allowed. Brief story blurb; The realm of Karrax once thrived under the reign of Kranatov Salazar, an ancient dragon who ruled for millenia. One day he turned, and the brutal war that ensued scorched the land, ultimately resulting in him being sealed away after a climactic battle. Explore the realm, discover the scars of the past, and unravel the mysteries surrounding the war. Looking for: Players who want to engage with the plot, NPC's, and roleplays. Should be able to show up consistently and be fine with slower-burn mysteries rather than pure dungeon crawling.  If your new to the format or DnD in general that is completely fine as long as you fit the other criteria :) If your interested drop a comment/ DM and i'll be more than happy to send over some more of the lore + world map so you can get a better feel for the campaign, followed by a rough character creation guide (nothing too strict, mainly just making sure it fits the tone/ setting). Once everyones set we can run a session 0 to establish expecations and actually meet eachother before anything's played out. From there we can do some quick one-to-one sessions establishing your character's own backstory and place in the world. Thanks for reading!

Dune: The heretics gift

Thursdays 10pm est DUNE: THE HERETIC’S GIFT — Looking for Players You owe a criminal kingpin a very large favor. Luckily, he’s offering you a way out. Intercept a mysterious “gift” being exchanged between the Bene Tleilax and a religious zealot House. Bring it back and your debt is wiped clean—and you’ll be paid handsomely. Just don’t start a holy war. And try not to get yourselves dealt with. This will be a short Dune: Adventures in the Imperium arc of up to 5 sessions, with intrigue, espionage, action, questionable decisions, and plenty of room for players to decide how they approach the mission. Afterward, I’m looking to bring together players for a longer campaign where we’ll build our House together and decide as a group what kind of Dune story we want to tell. I’ve been GMing for 10+ years and running Dune since the Modiphius game released. 2d20 is my favorite system to run, and I’m a lifelong Dune fan who grew up with the novels and the gloriously weird David Lynch film. New players are absolutely welcome.

House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Hello! I am seeking online players for a short homebrew campaign I am starting from scratch. I have DM'd 5e for ~3 years, Fabula Ultima for 2 years, and GM'd a few Pathfinder 2e sessions. As a player I've played various TTRPGs on and off over the past 12 years or so. If you are interested, please comment below AFTER reading the requirements and setting info. System: 5e, I am open to 5.5e content but do not have the books. If you would like something from 5.5e just share it with me for approval. Requirements: 4-5 players, age requirement 25+, familiarity with the system is encouraged but enthusiasm can compensate. LGBTQ+ friendly, of course. Platform: Foundry Expected Availability: Bi-Monthly Friday  Tone: Dark Adventure with room for comedy. See Setting Inspirations Setting: Fantasy Europe What to Expect: A land in disarray, dangerous travel, competitive factions Setting Information: The Black Plague has just scythed its way through the populace, and social upheaval has swept through in its wake. Desperate for workers, local lords have relaxed rules on commoner travel and trade. As a result, those with skills have abandoned withering farms, abusive lords, and the odd demonic assault to seek out work. Some wish only to survive, others seek passage into the burgeoning merchant class, and others still wish to upend the entire plague-rotted system. Setting Inspirations: Between to Fires, The Devils, elements of history Setup: Travelers (PCs) roll into the plague-ravaged town of Dinan in search of work. Through coordination or happenstance or some combination they stumble across a lucrative opportunity: the local church desperately needs the recently recovered skull of Saint Malo, a sacred relic held at a nearby cathedral. Demon-infested wilderness, church political maneuvering, and the shifting landscape of a ravaged land await the party. Do you seek fortune? Or power? Or simply survival? At the end of the day, you're lucky if all you have is your life.

AVATAR: THE SEVERED AGE "They told us the elements were sacred. Then they put a price on them, a chip in your skull, and a payment plan on your soul." The Premise Korra has been dead for three years. In the decades before her death, the Spirit Portal in Republic City stopped being a miracle and became an energy source. Spirit vines spread through the city's foundations, rail lines, power grid... and eventually into people. Engineers learned to route chi through circuitry. Ripperdocs learned to graft it into flesh. What should have taken a century took thirty years. The world woke up neon. Today, anyone with enough money or enough debt can buy bending. A non-bender walks into a corporate storefront, signs a financing contract for a Chi Emulator, and walks out throwing fire like a Fire Nation soldier. The Equalist dream came true. Not through revolution. Through retail. Every implant comes with a hidden cost. The more chrome you install, the quieter your own chi becomes. Benders slowly lose their connection to the elements until, eventually, they become Severed. No spirits. No bending. No way back... at least, that's what everyone believes. Meanwhile, somewhere in the world is an Earth Kingdom child who should have become the next Avatar. They are three years old. No one has found them. The White Lotus has searched for years without success. Some believe the child was born spirit-deaf. Others whisper a corporation found them first and is quietly discovering what an Avatar's soul is worth. Some fear the Avatar Cycle itself is breaking. Everyone is searching for the same missing child. You'll either find them first... ...or discover why no one else ever could. What You Can Play: A traditional bender trying to preserve a dying art. A Severed ex-bender willing to burn the world to reclaim their element. A Ghost, projecting their spirit into the digital Weave where something ancient may already be waiting. A ripperdoc, fixer, mercenary, or corporate Emulator runner drowning in debt. An Air Nomad who has rejected cybernetics entirely, remaining one of the few souls still fully connected to the spirits and uniquely capable of healing what technology has stolen. Themes: Cyberpunk noir Corporate corruption Spiritual horror Identity and humanity The price of progress Hope in a broken world This is a campaign about difficult choices with permanent consequences. Expect street-level jobs, corporate conspiracies, spirits hiding in fiber-optic cables, desperate people trying to reclaim what they've lost, and quiet moments between the action that remind everyone what's worth fighting for. The central question is simple: What are you willing to trade away... and can you ever get it back? System: Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (custom Avatar conversion) No prior Savage Worlds experience required. No Avatar knowledge required. All rules and setting information will be provided. The game is fast, cinematic, beginner-friendly, and focused on character-driven storytelling. "Chrome is easy to buy. Getting your soul back takes a lot longer." This game costs $20 per session

The people of Phandalin each have stories to tell, motives to hide, and secrets worth uncovering. Observant players who ask questions, connect clues, and investigate the world around them will often discover new opportunities, hidden dangers, and alternative solutions that might otherwise remain unseen. 🎭 Roleplay at Heart This is a character-driven game where your choices matter just as much as your abilities. Meaningful conversations, difficult decisions, and memorable relationships are at the heart of the experience. I encourage players to embrace their characters' personalities, ideals, flaws, and goals, creating moments that feel genuine and rewarding. Those who actively engage with the world and bring their characters to life will find the story responding in kind. ⚔️ Meaningful Combat Every battle serves a purpose within the narrative. Some encounters test your tactical skill, others challenge your resource management, and a few may force difficult moral decisions. Victory isn't always guaranteed, and rushing headlong into danger can carry lasting consequences. Teamwork, creativity, and strategy are often just as valuable as a powerful weapon or spell. 🗺️ Cinematic Presentation The world comes alive through immersive presentation. Official module maps enhanced in Foundry VTT, carefully selected music, atmospheric sound effects, dynamic lighting, and vivid narration work together to create memorable scenes. Whether you're descending into forgotten ruins, standing before a looming fortress, or sharing a quiet conversation in a bustling tavern, every moment is presented with the goal of making you feel like you're living inside the story. 📜 Campaign Listing: If you'd like to read the full campaign details, character creation guidelines, house rules, and reserve your seat, you can find everything here: https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmrdy1gb300gok204lq1k7t7h?ref=cmjkeghcz002oif042ddtkai4 Any questions or interested in joining? Welcome to the Valley of the King Wind back the clock to the bronze-age where civilizations are like points of light in a sea of darkness and danger. In a remote region of Lost Hyrkossia lies Kurran of the Spear, a rare place of safety with secure wall. A caravan stop ruled by the immortal King Ataxes. Kuhran is archaic, peripheral, and liminal. You are wanderers, exiles or thieves. Desperate, Curious, and Portentous. Heralds of great change. Intrigue abounds inside the great stone tower of Akros. The dead stir in the Necropolis. And the Lions. Yes, the Lions roam the countryside once more, threatening all in the region. This adventure is a region set in Bronze Age Arabia. The burial-mound of Tell Arn lays 13 miles south and is an existential threat that can not be ignored. Adventurers sometimes need breaks from dungeons, however. So there is a city to explore, intrigue to investigate, and a necropolis hovering over the city on one of its three tells. The adventure should enable all players to reach Name level (9+) if they stick with it. I hope you are intrigued by an interesting, more archaic setting than the typical fantasy world and join me in telling the story of Tell Arn and the city of Kuhran of the Spear. Cost: 25$ per session Setting: Lost Hyrkossia Starting Level: Level 1 Tone: Dungeon & City Crawl System: OSE (D&D B/X) Time: Weekly; 1600 EST (1500 PST)

A Fistful of Coppers - Outlaws of Alkenstar

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
A wacky western fantasy adventure where you'll fight to win your fortune, clear your name, bring justice (or vengeance) to those who've wronged you, and (hopefully) even save the city itself. Along the way you'll meet friends, foes, and eccentrics galore, and rise from Alkenstar's dank sewers to the sunlit skies above. This game will be using the dual class variant rule and third-party Team+ content, as well as any additional variant rules the party agrees on. https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmumqp1fm0007l0040oqmp6oj

Combat focused
Fights, tactics and initiative take up most of the table time.
"The Stolen Lands have long been the domain of bandits and monsters, but no longer! Your party has been granted a charter to explore these wilds, defeat its dangers, and build a brand new nation. Yet not everyone welcomes you as new neighbors, and powerful supernatural forces have their own plans for the region. Can you defeat your kingdom’s enemies and become one of the greatest new nations in the world?" In this adventure you'll be tasked with founding a new kingdom to bring order to a wild and untamed region, face many threats to your rule, and rise to prominence in the eyes of neighboring nations. You'll also be able to do so using especially unique character builds with the Dual Class variant rule, combining the strengths of two classes together. The current party has also opted to use multiple additional variant rules, including free archetype, ancestry paragon, and the unrestricted pack from Team+. With this in mind, you'll have many more options available to you both tactically in the moment and strategically as you level up, so some familiarity with the system is useful though not required. I'm happy to help newcomers get their bearings and learn the ropes, but if you don't enjoy lots of options and complex character sheets, this likely isn't the game for you. If that complexity is something you enjoy, however, then welcome aboard! Game Link: https://startplaying.games/adventure/cms98o5hm007il4048o5afc0y

Travelers from a distant land, welcome to Barovia, an oppressive realm under Strahd's control, a place where many have lost all hope for a better tomorrow. In this campaign, you will experience a journey where resilience and the strength of heroes must stand against overwhelming power to revive a long forgotten hope. Trapped in an isolated gothic land, you will find ways to confront Strahd, seek out lost artifacts, forge powerful alliances, and uncover secrets buried long ago. Homebrew

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Hi, we're a group of two looking for a couple more folk to fill out a new party. Thought the game will start by player agreement, not necessarily when the seats fill up. The start time is not fixed yet, but it will be at the weekend. Current plan for the campaign is for the players to wake up without their memories in an ancient floating magical city, ruled by wizards. The city is experiencing its own massive cultural and economic shift as it exists is own version of the medieval period.  The main goals of the game is to figure out the answer to: Who were they before? Why are they here? How can they get home? Who is trying to kill them? Note: I've added a second identical listing, except for dnd, rather than GURPS. Unless I get loads of interest, I'm not running both games - I made two listings to indicate both of us are happy to run under either ttrpg.

Have you wanted to try D&D for a while, but keep thinking: “I don't know the rules.” “I'm probably terrible at roleplaying.” “I don't even know how to make a character.” “Everyone else will know what they're doing except me.” Then you're exactly the kind of player I enjoy introducing to D&D. I'm an experienced DM running weekly online campaigns, and a large number of my current long-term players started with little or zero real D&D experience. You do not need to read the entire Player's Handbook before joining. You don't need to memorize every spell, know how every mechanic works, or come in with a 10-page character backstory. We'll build your character together, I'll explain things as they become relevant, and you'll learn naturally by actually playing the game. And don't worry—beginner-friendly does not mean the campaign is watered down. The dice still matter. Your decisions have consequences. Characters can succeed, fail, get themselves into horrible situations, come up with ridiculous solutions, and completely change where the story goes. My games focus heavily on: • Character development • Roleplay and relationships between characters • Player freedom and creative solutions • Exploration and meaningful decisions • A story that reacts to what the party actually does • Helping new players learn without constantly stopping the game • A consistent weekly campaign rather than playing once every few months One of my current players described the experience like this: “The players have freedom, and no decision ever feels like a wrong one. I keep coming back for the DM, the players, and the characters and stories we've told together.” — Remy / Joffarex You don't have to be an amazing roleplayer when you start either. Quite a few of my players were nervous about roleplaying when they first joined. That confidence usually develops naturally once you become comfortable with your character and the group. GAME DETAILS System: D&D 5e / 2024/2014 rules Campaign: Faerun for new players Format: Online Voice: Discord VTT: Roll20 Session Length: Around 3–4 hours Group Size: Around 5 players Frequency: Once per week Price: Session 0, character creation, and onboarding are free. Regular campaign sessions are $20/player Experience Required: Absolutely none Current Openings: 5 SCHEDULING Wednesday, 8 PM GMT+4 / 12 PM ET my schedule is flexible, so if this time doesn't suit you, we can discuss it over a call THE ADVENTURE This is a long-term campaign set in Faerûn, built specifically for a new group. You’ll start as relatively inexperienced adventurers and gradually become involved in larger conflicts, dangerous factions, strange locations, and stories tied directly to your characters. Expect a mix of roleplay, exploration, combat, mysteries, character backstories, and choices that can genuinely change where the campaign goes. This is not a pre-written railroad where you just follow quest markers—the direction of the story will depend heavily on the party. INTERESTED? Send me a message here first with: Your timezone Your general weekly availability Whether you've played D&D before What kind of character, campaign, or D&D experience sounds fun to you Anything you're nervous or unsure about If it sounds like the game could be a good fit, I'll give you my Discord and we can talk properly there before you commit to anything. I care quite a lot about group chemistry, so I'd rather have five people who genuinely enjoy playing together every week than simply fill seats as quickly as possible. Complete beginners are very welcome.

Need a DM?

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
Do you already have 3–5 friends who want to play D&D, but the campaign never actually gets off the ground because nobody has the time or experience to DM it consistently? This is specifically for groups like that. I run weekly online D&D campaigns for existing friend groups. You keep playing with your friends; I handle the DM side: preparation, rules guidance, campaign structure, NPCs, encounters, worldbuilding, and keeping the campaign moving every week. One of my current groups described their situation this way: they had tried for years to get a proper campaign running, but scheduling and not having an experienced DM kept stopping them. After joining, their player said: “You are paying for preparation, reliability, experience, storytelling, and someone taking responsibility for keeping the campaign running.” The game itself is character-focused and flexible. Your decisions matter, your characters can shape the story, and beginners are completely welcome. I also help with character creation and rules instead of expecting everyone to arrive as an expert. DETAILS System: D&D 5e / 2024 rules Players: Best for an existing group of 3–5 Format: Online Voice: Discord VTT: Roll20 Schedule: Weekly Session Length: 3–4 hours Price: $20 USD per player, per session Campaign Options: Custom Faerûn / Curse of Strahd / Tomb of Annihilation / other options depending on what your group wants If your group has been saying “we should really play D&D” for months—or years—send me: Number of players Your timezones Days/times that work for the group Experience level What kind of campaign you want I’ll tell you honestly whether I have a slot that fits.

We Shall Be Monsters | A Lycanthrope Adventure

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
I'm running this campaign on StartPlaying. Here's the link: https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmvliptld0004lb083cry49qh Battle packs of deadly were-creatures: some familiar, many you’ve never encountered before. An original campaign for level 5-7 characters. TYPE Campaign SYSTEM Dungeons & Dragons 5e/5.5e LEVELS 5–7 EXPERIENCE Open to all AGE 18+ In the remote territory of Landis Vale, a plague of shapeshifting horrors has been loosed upon the land. Packs of roving lycanthropes with new and terrifying abilities have overcome the defenses of the local defenders. Worst of all, the outbreak traces back to unnatural experiments the once-heroic genius, Professor Zevon Groggins. Only a skilled team of professional adventurers can hope to save this peaceful land and prevent the contagion of lycanthropy from spreading across the lands. “We Shall Be Monsters” is an original short campaign from the two-person creative team at Oblique Adventures. We have created all-new art, stat blocks, items, and maps to bring this horror-themed adventure to life. Our updated rules bring back the power and mystery of lycanthropes, while expanding the lore of these classic monsters in unexpected ways. This is a contained sandbox game that puts you in charge of how you pursue the overarching quest. If you’re looking for chills, mystery, humor, and challenging conflicts at every turn, come to Landis Vale and face the twisted schemes of a brilliant madman in “We Shall Be Monsters.” WHAT TO EXPECT • An Adventure for Levels 5-7: You can create a new character, or I’m open to bringing in existing characters of the appropriate level. • An Exciting Mini-Campaign: Depending on your style of play, this adventure generally takes from six to ten sessions to complete. • Unique Foes and Twists: We work hard on our original monsters and stories. Even experienced players will find plenty of new challenges. • Free Session 0.

A BIT ABOUT ME: Hello, my name is Aron, I’m 34 and I started playing this game as the forever DM just before COVID hit and have been DMing multiple weekly games since. I am for the most part fairly introverted which this hobby has helped deal with, and while I may not do all the little funny voices (it’s a thing I’m working on) I’m a sucker for the Rule of Cool and a good story! And what better story then one you build together as a collaboration with other like minded individuals?! Marlowe Fairwind, the right-hand sorcerer of King Emeris, has gathered her most trusted allies to carry an important package to Hush, a small village within the ancient forest of Sablewood. The crate is large, heavy and sealed with magic, addressed to the Whitefire Arcanist. You’ve been given a map and a carriage, and the promise of reward upon your arrival. # What This Campaign Offers 🎓 Learn Daggerherat - A quick rundown of the mechanics, providing pre-made characters, complete with suggestions of links and background questions to help you immerse yourself. ⚖️ An All-round experience – Combat, exploration, roleplaying, social encounters and magical places. Get a taste of everything applied to the system of Daggerheart, and find out how it works for you! ✨ Whimsy - Although the campaign is short, the city of Hush and its inhabitants carry a certain whimsy and magic within them, making them fun personalities to engage with, so the session aims to be fun and light-hearted. ⏳ No Prep One Shot - You don't need to do any work; just show up to the game, and I'll teach all the rules and offer characters. Just sit down, learn the game, play a session and we're done! 🐣 Kid Friendly - Sablewood Messengers's only heavy themes are the inclusion of Undeads and Violence. The undeads can be easily re-skinned to something more friendly, and the combat can be quirky and silly if needed. Other than that, it's magic, fairies and songs! # In-Depth Campaign Structure Designed with beginners in mind, Sablewood Messengers is often called the Quickstart. It was released alongside Daggerheart as a free content to help players get into the game easily. It's a single session which includes explaining the game, going through two possible combats, and social encounters with a magical city and a quirky fairy grandma, with a lot of room for players and characters to interact and become closer throughout their travel. Characters are included in the module, and they have a suggestion of how they connect already included in their backgrounds, as well as questions prepared to help players strengthen these bonds. The game's rules are very simple, and can be explained within an hour. # Preparing For The Session You'll need accounts on Roll20 and Discord. No character creation needed! Characters will be provided at the start of the session! Payment and scheduling is done through [StartPlaying.Games](http://StartPlaying.Games) # About Me! Hey there! I'm Erick, and I have been a regular RPG player since 2015, but I've been involved in the world of RPGs and have been a fan since I was a little kid, when my brother used to GM for me. I'm a big fan of game design in general; so I also enjoy creating content and tweaking the rules as needed. I've played a few other systems, but D&D 5th Edition is my favorite by far. RPGs are my favorite hobby, and I believe they have immense narrative, rational and therapeutic value. I am happy to teach newcomers and engage with veterans alike. Although I embrace heavy themes and take the narrative itself seriously within the game, our communion as writers and players is something very light and comfortable for me. We'll use battlemaps for all scenes that include a scuffle, and mostly use theater of the mind for the rest of the scenes; although I do share the images that I use as reference for locations, when there are any. We'll use music to set the vibe as we play, as well as some sound effects, all integrated within Roll20. I got a firm grasp of the rules, and I am lax with them, trying to create a flow on scenes, without losing balance. Preparing to play on the 7th, 9th and 13th of November, depending on your preference! Your firm specializes in the underhanded tactics that win cases: tampering with evidence, threatening witnesses, corrupting juries, and delivering theatrical courtroom performances that would make any Silkshore actor jealous. Whether you're defending gangsters from Ironhook Prison, prosecuting high-profile criminals, or navigating inheritance disputes in the spectral Ghost Court, you'll use flashbacks, heists, and social manipulation to stack the deck in your favor before the magistrate bangs their gavel. Each session centers around a case, with the courtroom serving as your battleground. You'll roll engagement, present evidence (real or fabricated), cross-examine witnesses, and use competing clocks to determine who wins. Between arguments, you'll flash back to key moments: breaking into a records office, convincing a witness to change their testimony, or planting incriminating documents in your opponent's files. This game is perfect for players who enjoy social intrigue, creative problem-solving, and morally gray characters. If you like courtroom dramas, heist movies, and the dark Victorian aesthetic of Blades in the Dark, you'll feel right at home. We'll embrace the game's mechanics of flashbacks, devil's bargains, and collaborative worldbuilding to create memorable legal battles where the truth is whatever you can make the jury believe. Come prepared for sharp wit, dirty tricks, and the satisfaction of winning cases through cunning rather than justice.

Looking to GM a D20 homebrew since I've moved up to the mountains. I've GM'd pathfinder and DnD since AD&D 2nd Edition when I was 16 years old. I am 42 now, and now homebrew pretty much everything. We will need two pregame sessions; one where we discuss the type of world the players want to play and the type of game, and then a second where we create initial characters. I run very player involved worlds; for example, if you were to run a cleric, I would insist that you make your own dogma and worship system for me to implement. As a general rule, the more the player is involved, the more they will help create the world details. That said, I have a long standing rule that in most cases, each player is to make a 2 characters- their play character, and their world setting character. The world setting character is to be part of the local setting, and connected to the player character; imagine a spouse, child, best friend, etc. the world character is to have a meaningful role in the local setting, and to serve as backup in case the primary character is in dispose, away, or the player gets bored of their primary. Most of the time, they end up serving as plot points and world flavor, as I find a roster of friendly or associated characters made by the group to be the most useful collaboration that can be made prior to game. I also play a very adhoc game, with rules determined and noted down as they are needed, but generally use a 3 action round, d20 skill check/save based system, simplifying as many details as possible. I do not do electronic/by phone games, live only. Sadly, I cannot host but have plenty of time to devote to the game otherwise

🔥 One HELL of a Heist | A Level 16 Dungeon Crawl

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
The Absolute has left Baldur's Gate in ruins, it's people hopeful for a future without the Dead Three. But deep in it's forests: a new evil seems to have crawled out of hell. Animals have grown exceedingly violent, citizens have gone missing & the Druidic Forests seem to be sinking. Rumor has it, a Fiend of Mammon, Archdevil of Greed, is behind it. If it's true, then perhaps the potential for riches has gotten you on the job. Or perhaps, something more personal: as someone you know has gone missing too. You're heroes from the events of Baldur's Gate III, locals that have had enough of the misfortunes, or strangers that banded together. Either way, the ruined city can't afford to send anyone to this hell but you. And for a Beast is strongest in the Den where it sleeps, you'll have to keep your presence secret for as long as possible in order to survive. 🔥The Heist. A Dungeon Crawl emphasizing Stealth, Assassination, & Uncovering Mysteries to Survive. Getting found means fighting above your pay grade 🔥Challenging Enemies. Monsters aren't just Hit Sponges: learn weaknesses, prepare countermeasures, & play unfair - because the enemy certainly won't 🔥Magicraft. Gather Monster essences & craft potions, weapon coatings & magic items to turn the tides of battle 🔥Fear & Hunger. Embody the drama of risking your life with a Critical Injury / Madness Coin-flip system This game is $15, and begins at 6pm PST on Tuesdays. Only one more player needed to start! ☠️ Secrets of Grayce → Bastion of Blasphemies ☠️ |

Paid game

☠️ SECRETS OF GRAYCE → BASTION OF BLASPHEMIES ☠️ You thought you were solving a mystery. You were opening a door. Something is wrong in the quiet village of Grayce. Strange creatures. Missing people. Unexplained disturbances. Secrets that don't want to be uncovered. What begins as a series of seemingly isolated problems gradually draws your characters toward a much darker mystery—and eventually toward Bastardhall, one of Ustalav's most infamous haunted places. And once you enter, getting back out may be the least of your problems. ⚙️ ONE CONTINUOUS STORY • LEVEL 1–14 Your journey begins in Secrets of Grayce, where you'll investigate the troubles threatening the village, meet its people, and begin uncovering mysteries that extend far beyond the problems immediately in front of you. I've expanded and interconnected the adventures to create a campaign that rewards curiosity. Recurring characters, additional story elements, and details hidden throughout the adventure give Grayce a history that extends well beyond what initially meets the eye. Pay attention. Ask questions. Investigate. Seemingly small discoveries may become important later. From there, the story continues directly into Bastion of Blasphemies. The characters you've created, the choices you've made, and the relationships you've formed become part of a larger story as the mystery grows darker and the dangers become deadlier. 🎭 A PREMIUM FOUNDRY VTT EXPERIENCE Foundry VTT isn't just a digital battle map at my table. Expect: ⚔️ Detailed battle maps 🎨 Custom artwork and tokens 💡 Dynamic lighting ✨ Automated abilities and conditions 🔊 Ambient audio and immersive effects 🧩 Carefully crafted encounters 🎲 Tactical Pathfinder 2e combat The goal isn't simply to make the game easier to run. It's to make the world feel real. 🕯️ WHAT KIND OF GAME IS THIS? 🔎 Investigation — Follow clues, question what you find, and uncover secrets. 🦇 Gothic Horror — Expect unsettling discoveries, dangerous creatures, and a world where things are rarely what they seem. ⚔️ Tactical Combat — Pathfinder 2e's action economy, positioning, teamwork, and conditions matter. 🎭 Roleplay — NPCs have personalities, motivations, and agendas. Your choices can shape your relationships with them. 🗺️ Exploration — Curiosity is rewarded. Sometimes the most dangerous thing you can do is open the wrong door. 🧙 NEW TO PATHFINDER? Come anyway. You don't need to know every rule before your first session. I'll teach you as we play. Experienced players will find plenty of tactical depth, while newer players will have room to learn. Bring a character you're excited to play. I'll handle the rest.

I'm a father and firefighter, so all games will be played at Night and there will be learning open for you and for me.  We would be playing over Discod and using Foundry VTT due to it's ease of access.  Adults would be prefered and no other requirements would be needed. Beyond the hearth lie forgotten roads, the halls of fallen kings, and a Shadow stirring in the forgotten corners of Middle-earth. Your journey begins in Bree, where rumours of ancient ruins, growing unrest, and the lingering memory of Angmar draw an unlikely fellowship onto the road. Of Hope and Other Sorrows is a Tolkien-grounded, roleplay-heavy sandbox campaign where exploration, friendships, difficult choices, and small acts of courage shape an unfolding story. Your adventures also share a living world with my established Thursday campaign. Through letters, rumours, and discoveries, the actions of one fellowship may influence the fate of another. What to expect: Meaningful roleplay, exploration, mystery, and occasional dangerous combat. A reactive world shaped by your choices and character backstories. A welcoming, collaborative table for newcomers and veterans alike. When: Tuesdays, 18:30 UTC (2–3 hours) Where: Discord + D&D Beyond Maps Price: $20 per session Spaces: 5 available; 2 more players needed to begin. No previous experience with Tolkien's RPGs required. Dungeons in the Mist

Looking to start up a "monthly" game of D&D 5e 2014, Legend in the Mist, City of Mist, Savage Worlds, Genesys, or another system in some genre we agree on or any other system that might be fun to try. Getting my current group is like herding cats so I play far too infrequently so I'd like a bit more consistency. I'm interested in running a Call of Cthulhu style game using the City of Mist rulebook. I want a relaxed beer and pretzels game primarily centered around narrative game play peppered with cinematic action. Preferable game times are Saturdays from noon until quitting time, or Sunday noon until 6ish. Location might by in a garage, or a local game store that's open until 10pm.

Curse of Strahd | Gothic Horror D&D Adventure

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
Curse of Strahd — Enter Barovia The mists have found you. They do not intend to let you leave. A land trapped beneath an endless grey sky. Ancient forests hide things that should never have survived. Villages cling desperately to what little hope remains. And above it all watches a vampire who has ruled this valley for centuries. Count Strahd von Zarovich knows you are here. The question is whether you'll survive long enough to escape him. 🦇 What to Expect 🩸 A Story About Your Characters Your characters aren't just along for the ride. Your decisions, relationships, fears and ambitions will become part of the story. Barovia will react to what you do — and Strahd will take notice. 🏰 Gothic Horror & Dark Fantasy Expect haunted castles, cursed villages, ancient forests, terrifying creatures and people who have learned to survive in a world without hope. The campaign can be dark and unsettling, but we'll keep the table itself welcoming and enjoyable. 🎭 Roleplay & Character Development Barovia is filled with people who have their own problems, secrets and motivations. You'll have plenty of opportunities to interact with NPCs, make difficult choices and decide what your character is willing to sacrifice. ⚔️ Dangerous Combat Combat matters. Not every encounter is designed to be won by simply charging forward. Sometimes running away is the smartest choice. You'll face creatures that can genuinely threaten your party, and your decisions outside of combat can be just as important as your tactics during it. 🗺️ Exploration & Mystery Barovia isn't a linear dungeon. You'll have freedom to explore the valley, discover its secrets and decide which dangers you're willing to face. 🆕 New to D&D? That's completely fine. You don't need years of D&D experience to join. I'll explain the rules as we play, help you create your character and make sure you understand what's happening. The important thing is that you're ready to play a character and become part of the story. 🎲 Campaign Details System: Dungeons & Dragons 5e Campaign: Curse of Strahd Starting Level: 1 Players: 4–6 Session Length: 3 hours Frequency: Weekly Experience: Beginners & experienced players welcome We'll use Foundry VTT for maps and combat, with Discord for voice chat.

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Beginner Friendly Looking for players for an old school adventure! Hey! I’m a DM in my twenties looking for some players for an AD&D 1st Edition game. I’ve got some experience running the system, and beginners are more than welcome. No prior experience is needed, as we’ll go through character creation together and I’ll help with the rules as we play. I’m aiming for a fairly old school game. It’ll be difficult but fair, and character death is a real possibility. Being careful and working together will get you further than rushing into every fight. It’s 1 xp for each silver brought back to town so thieving is the playstyle! The focus will be more on the party and its adventures than on individual character backstories. A few details:      - When: Weekly, later in the evening 18-22 (CET). Days can vary because of my schedule but I can be flexible. We're aiming for 4 hour sessions. - Where: Online, using Discord.      - System: AD&D 1st Edition.      - Experience: None needed!      - Requirements: Working microphone and webcam. I’m mostly looking for people who are friendly, reliable, and interested in giving      some old school D&D a try. If you’re interested, send me a DM with a little about yourself, your availability, and why you’d like to join!

Blade Runner: City of Fallen Angels

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
Will you uphold the law, expose rouge Replicants and uncover corporate conspiracies, or delve into the depths of your own humanity, staying your hand and looking back at the critical moment? Will you find salvation in a world dominated by shadows, or will you succumb to the allure of a future where humanity is defined by the flickering glow of artificial light? The choices you will be forced to make will shape the fate of City of Fallen Angels and its denizens. Set against the backdrop of a sprawling, rain-soaked metropolis of Los Angeles 2036, the players will navigate a world where advanced technology clashes with gritty urban decay. Inspired by the iconic Blade Runner aesthetic, the narrative will explore the ethical dilemmas of artificial intelligence, corporate power, and the quest for humanity in an ever-advancing technological landscape of a world where trust is a rare commodity, and every corner holds a secret.   As your Game Runner, I will guide you through a narrative web of intrigue, espionage and existential questions. This game is not just about rolling dice and calculating statistics; it's about the atmospheric exploration of a world that is as dangerous as it is mesmerizing. In the game you can expect a cinematic experience where the choices you make echo through the neon-lit streets of Los Angeles, shaping a narrative that is as unique as the individuals playing it. City of Fallen Angels story arc consists of fifteen Case Files, taking place over a span of last months of 2036 and part of 2037. Each Case File concludes mostly within three game sessions. City of Fallen Angels campaign operates on my dedicated Discord server, providing an accessible platform for players to engage in a story-driven experience. Upon entering the game, you will access rule summaries to help them navigate the game mechanics. The system is designed to be beginner-friendly while maintaining depth for seasoned role-players. During the course of the game, I provide custom handouts that include detailed descriptions, visual references and important information relevant to the ongoing story. Mugshots, maps and other visual aids are utilized to provide a visual representation of the characters, locations, and clues encountered throughout the game. Take note that City of Fallen Angels campaign prioritizes a story-driven experience that focuses on mystery and puzzle-solving rather than combat. The narrative unfolds through a series of interconnected events, each leading to the next piece of the puzzle.

When the moon rises over the night sky your blood boils with red rage: heed the howlings and hunt down your prey! Game details Game system: Werewolf: The Forsaken 2nd Edition Frequency and Time: Weekly / Sundays - 03:00 p.m. PST. Session Duration: 3 hours Price: 25$ per session through StartPlaying, here. 1 / 5 Seats Filled. About the adventure You are a werewolf: a wolf-like shapechanging predator that hunts across the world of flesh and its dark mirror —the world of spirits— yet forsaken by both. Unlike the folk stories, you are not "cursed" with lycanthropy: your are the scion of Father Wolf and Mother Moon that can hunt all kinds of prey: animals, humans, spirits, even gods. There is a rage burning inside you that threatens to devour your whole world in a red haze, yet you must temper your resolve with one simple truth: The Wolf Must Hunt. The French Quarter of New Orleans will provide the canvas where this chronicle will play out. But you are not alone in this endeavor! As part of the bigger Chronicles of New Orleans, other groups of player characters will be active and playing on this shared world, as their triumphs and failures will bring consequences that spill over to the other games. As one of the Uratha, you are blessed by the Moon Goddess with an Auspice: a role to play in the hunt, and the powers to back it. You may also join one of the five Tribes of the Moon: large societies of hunters with their own spiritual rites and sacred preys, the better to align your righteous fury with their savage goals. Among the many threats you and your pack will face in this gothic version of New Orleans, you will: 🌙 Hunt down rogue spirits, shard-vermins and cruel humans who threaten the sanctity of your territory. 🌙 Play the game of the elders during Uratha gatherings: challenge other packs through controlled violence and cunning politics and lead the charge against the enemies of the People. 🌙 Curse your enemies with eldritch rituals that twist the spirit world and weaken your prey. 🌙 Explore the supernatural mysteries of the bayous, inhabited by both ancient spirits and new horrors born of toxic destruction. 🌙 Protect your loved ones from the depredations of other monsters and from your own, uncontrollable rage.

Howdy all! I'm dipping my toes into paid DMing by running a live text game of Way of the Wicked--a D&D5e conversion of the Pathfinder module where the party gets to play as the bad guys for a change! For those unfamiliar, the first book of Way of the Wicked entails our villainous party escaping from an infamous prison, joining a cult, then destroying the last bastion holding back an invading force of bugbears, taking them from levels 1 to 5. Depending on how the group feels, I may continue the game after level 5 as there are additional books that take the campaign up to level 20. This is a LIVE TEXT game! That means that players will all be available at the set session time every week for 3-4 hour sessions but all in-character narration and out-of-character communication is done via text through Discord. We'll also be using Foundry VTT for rolls and combat/battle maps. You will need a computer in order to use Foundry, it does not work well on mobile. You do not have to make an account or anything to use Foundry, it runs in your browser. This is a PAID game! I am charging $15 per player per session and I anticipate this campaign to take at least five sessions but given the slightly slower pace of live text compared to voiced sessions, it may run up to eight or more. We will play at 3 PM Mountain Time every Saturday and Session 0 will be free. This is my first time running a paid game and the first time using StartPlaying so if the price point or the time slot doesn't work for you, please shoot me a message on Discord to let me know what would work for you and I may be able to adjust the time/price depending on the responses I get as I've got a little bit of wiggle room. About Me I've been playing in and GMing TTRPGs for about eight years now, almost entirely in live text and asynchronous pbp games as I feel I'm a much better writer than I am an orator. I enjoy text games as I feel I can deliver a more complete picture of locations, scenarios, and characters, including the details that might go unnoticed in a standard voiced game. I also will use pictures as visual references where applicable. Most if not all of the images come from the book, they are not AI generated. I have run this module before via play by post so I am very familiar with the source material and can provide a quality experience that is hopefully worth paying for. Interested in playing? If this seems like your cup of tea, please message me for more information. If you have any questions, please message me here! I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
"You remember our venerable house, opulent and imperial. It is a festering abomination! I beg you. Return home; claim your birthright, and deliver our family from the ravenous, clutching shadows of the Darkest Dungeon." Hi everyone I'm looking for 4-6 players for a Darkest Dungeon themed old school D&D campaign. I'll be running it through Old School Essentials (A repackaging of Basic/Expert D&D) with some fairly heavy homebrewing to make it fit the source material (Stress, Quirks, Unique Heroes) It should be fairly accessible to anyone, regardless of your experience with D&D or old school play. The overall focus will be on delving the dungeons of the region, recovering artefacts, amassing wealth and getting powerful enough to finally defeat the evil deep beneath the manor. Currently looking at Sunday 6pm CET / 12pm EDT with some room for flexibility based on replies. Play will be on Discord. Open to any enjoyer of Darkest Dungeon, regardless of experience. Drop me a DM if you're interested and tell me who your favourite hero is. I look forward to hearing from you!

Playtest

Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Trying to find players to help play test a TTRPG I'm working on that was inspired by Blades in the Dark. Basically the aesthetic/setting is kind of old-school D&D low-medium fantasy dangerous magic. We use d10s instead of d6s and add flat bonuses instead of rolling multiple dice. Characters will be pre-generated and provided to players for this one shot! It has Resistance but in this game they're called Saving Throws, and it has Stress and Trauma but it's called Deviations and Omens in this game. But it does depart significantly in action resolution. So in Gambit, we set the Stakes and Odds which basically means we establish the potential consequences (Perils) and success state before the roll is made, as well as a double DC that represents a target number for a Clean Success as well as a target number for Success with Perils. The players and the GM can introduce new tactics, equipment, etc to adjust these numbers or potential consequences or the Gambit (action) being used. The GM does have final say on what Gambit or Gambits must be used to complete the stated attempted action however. There are also way more Gambits (actions) in this game than in Blades in the Dark, but the majority of them are on the "mental" side of Vitae (attributes). The Gambits are more specific and less general than in Blades in the Dark. (Watching, Hearing, Engineering, Leaping, Dashing, Wrestling) but you also get more bonuses to these later in the game (basically a number of +1 bonuses equal to your level per level, so +2 at level 2, +3 at level 3 and so on.) There's more to it than listed here, but I don't wanna post the whole rulebook. If you have any questions, please post or message me.

Hello. We are a group of D&D players and DMs that have been together for 8 years. We recently had some members move away, so we are looking for more players. We occasionally change DMs, so no forever DMs here. We tend to focus more on roleplay than combat. We are open to other TTRPG systems or tabletop games in general. We are currently running a hombrew campaign in 5e.

Blades in the Dark: The Red Dawn

Adult
The table is for players who are 18 or over.
No paid games
On a player profile - you are looking for free games and are not interested in paid ones.
About the Game Blades in the Dark is a tabletop roleplaying game about a crew of audacious scoundrels seeking their fortunes on the haunted streets of an industrial-fantasy city. There are no heroes here—you play as criminals, outcasts, and survivors navigating a grim metropolis trapped in eternal darkness, surrounded by restless ghosts and a corrupt regime. The game runs on the fast-paced, narrative-driven Forged in the Dark system. Instead of getting bogged down in endless math, it focuses on daring heists, flashbacks, creative problem-solving, and dealing with the messy consequences of your criminal lifestyle. About the Crew: "The Red Dawn" We are playing as The Red Dawn, a Bravos crew. While other gangs might stick to quiet burglaries or smuggling, your crew thrives on intimidation, violent enforcement, and direct action. However, you aren't just common thugs for hire—The Red Dawn are freedom fighters fighting the system. You are pushing back against the oppressive authorities, corrupt nobles, and ruthless factions tightening their grip on the city. Expect a gritty mix of high-stakes heists, bloody turf wars, and revolutionary defiance against a world that wants to keep you down. Campaign Status & Who We're Looking For Current Status: We have already played a couple of sessions, so the group dynamics are forming, and the world is starting to react to our crew's actions. New Players Welcome: Don't worry if you missed the very beginning! It is very easy to jump right into an ongoing Blades in the Dark campaign. Whether your character is an existing ally breaking out of prison, a fierce new muscle brought into the fold, or a specialist looking to join the cause, we will weave you seamlessly into the narrative. Vibe: Collaborative, cinematic, character-driven, and focused on having fun together while our scoundrels bite off way more than they can chew. Interested? If you want to spark a revolution with a sharp blade and a stubborn streak, leave a comment below or send me a message telling me a bit about your TTRPG experience and what kind of scoundrel you'd love to play!

Interrogate the liars, command my garrisons, and crush the insurgents before they learn to stand." — Count Strahd Von Zarovich We aren't playing heroes trying to save Barovia. We are playing low-level enforcers handpicked by the Dark Lord to ride into hostile towns, enforce martial law, crush rebellions, and forge dark alliances. If you want a tactical sandbox with zero plot armor, a living war-table, and a reactive world where crossing the wrong NPC births a relentless Nemesis who hunts you across the realm—this table is for you. 📋 Campaign & Seat-Filler Details: Adventure Link: Curse of Strahd: Generals of the Devil System: D&D 5e (Level 3 Start / 2024 Ruleset) Platforms: Foundry VTT & Discord (No paid software required, runs right in your browser) Session Schedule: Weekly on Sundays at 2:00 PM EST (Starting Nov 8) Cost: $15.00/session. ⚠️ THE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT (COMMITMENT REQUIRED) Commitment Heavy: This is an  campaign. I am looking for players who will show up, stay engaged, and see this through to the end. Timezone Check: Sundays at 2:00 PM EST. Check what time that is in your local zone. If it translates to the middle of the night or clashes with your routine, do not sign up. We need reliable players who won't flake. 🛡️ What You Get at the Table: High-production hosted Foundry VTT setup with animated Beneos battlemaps, dynamic lighting, and custom weather effects. Tactical mechanics: Military rank and authority, flanking rules, tactical potions, and the Reverse Nemesis Protocol. A seasoned DM focused on immersion, tactical depth, and consequences that matter. Check your calendar, make sure you can lock down that weekly Sunday slot, and drop a DM with a lijst of your preferred class or role to claim your free seat! ⚔️

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Looking for player interested in custom game system via narrative roleplay and learning the system itself. Grasianil: Custom D6-based system utilizing Maptool primarily, heavily stream-lined to support large, quick battles. Versatility allows vehicles, mechs, and spaceships, utilizing unique mechanics, in-addition to single players. Minimal delays owing to macros within Maptool, utilizing pop-up menus, automatic calculation of damage, debuffs, armor, etc. Highly adaptable, with streamlined rules offering as much complexity as is desired, and based on the setting. Developed by myself and my partner who passed away earlier this year. Supports several original fantasy and sci fi worlds of varying types, from traditional western high fantasy, to detailed low fantasy, from space opera-style sci fi, to more realistic settings. In-addition to original settings not listed here, it has been adapted to: Legend of Zelda Battletech Middle Earth Forgotten Realms Mystara Shadowrun and Cyberpunk Pre-existing settings are not played strictly-canon, but consistency is stressed. The system can cover nearly any theme, so if a setting is not listed here, please inquire-within and I may have something that fits or be able to adapt for you. Medium amount of experience in RPing requested, as well as an open mind to learn a new system. Maptool 1.11.5 needed, Discord used primarily for all text but other programs are an option, Google sheets used for some settings. Time-zone of GM is US Central. RPing otherwise done via text on Discord, but other options open to discussion. Session date and time variable, any listed setting available, suggestions welcome, inquire in DMs to myself for further details. GM preference for folks interested in creating a story, rather than purely for the gaming. One-on-one only, at the moment. No cost. No absolute obligation. Reach out to natalie7995 on Discord, or via message/email for more information. When reaching out, please send a message via Groupfinder or over Discord.

Take your first steps into Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk. Explore unfamiliar places, meet people worth getting attached to, and discover the adventure together; no story knowledge needed. I like players who give me something unexpected to work with. There’s room for silliness, but danger still matters. Help your companions shine, get involved in the world, and be prepared to live with your decisions. I also use a few patrons to enhance the experience, including Baileywiki, JB2A, and PSFX. Sessions are $5 each. They run 3 to 5 hours, with breaks. The Orb of Storms

Cedar Village is a quiet mostly-elven village on the edge of the Summerblossom Empire, near the border with the human Federation. You're one of five adventurers in the village. You're contracted to defend the town from monsters and other threats, as they arise. The current threat is a bad drought. There's been hardly any rain, this summer, and the forest is dying. The village has petitioned the Dragon Empress for aid, and she's sending it: an Artifact from her hoard, the Orb of Storms, which has a raincloud hovering over it wherever it goes. Normally it's used for agriculture near the capitol, but this month it'll be on lease to Cedar Village; you can carry it up and down the valley and get as much rain as anyone could ever want. Yesterday, you saw a raincloud coming up the pass into the valley. This must herald the arrival of the Orb, and the end of the drought. The whole village held an impromptu It's Gonna Rain party, with song and dance and what food everyone could spare. This morning, you wake to learn that something has gone badly wrong... ---- I'm collecting players for a oneshot Tuesday evening, 6pm EST. You'll build a fourth-level character with standard point buy and standard starting equipment. Elves are most common in the Summerblossom Empire, but any race is acceptable. Any first-party D&D-2014 book is allowed. Use this form to sign up: https://forms.gle/uoD8iPTFt6dVoQxU8

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Whatever the opposite of a railroaded adventure is, this open-world campaign is that. The rules are simple. The world is complicated. What happens to it is up to the players. You will hear rumors, discover locations, meet competing factions, and encounter problems, but the game will not tell you which direction you must take. Some things the players have chosen to do so far: Join the local mercenaries to learn the ways of the sword as a mage - Retrieve an old lady's purse - Become war chieftain of an orc village - Decapitate a wight with a cursed sword Also some new races that are crafted to play and feel very different: - Pixie - fly, perfect hiding, cast phantasmal forces at will, insults cause physical damage to you - Orc - infra-vision, can recruit monsters more easily Races and classes are kind of blended together. Multiple characters are encouraged. Each choice allows you to do something that appears to let you break the game, while saddling you with something else that seems debilitating. This is by design, and players have come up with a few ways of getting around and abusing these things to the betterment of the story and lore. - Fighting-Man - Doesn't have to actually be a guy, but is a human. Can use all weapons and armor. - Magic-User - Has one spell, one "shot". Can meet with magic learned peers to exchange knowledge. The most notorious spell in the game right now is Charm Person because it doesn't wear off like in later editions. - Cleric - The best of the two above, but must be Good, and by the Law. - Elf - Essentially a Magic-Use/Fighting-Man with extra perks and ties with elves and the ability to sense magic, enhanced senses, etc. but capped at a certain point - Hobbit - Capped early, but can hide flawlessly in urban areas and snipe REAL good with slings. No magic. - Dwarf -  Capped early, but high resistance, good with all axes and hammers, can sense what stone touches and its shape, and ties with and extensive knowledge of dwarven culture and holds. There are major events going on in the background but instead of shoving players in the middle of them, I showcase the developments of those events that come about, for good or ill. The players decide what to investigate, whom to trust, which dangers are worth confronting, and what their characters want to accomplish. How many hirelings do you need to bring with you? How much can you do successfully alone to maximize profit? Play alone, 1-on-1 with DM and player, or up to 10 others at once. The world continues to develop around the party. Factions pursue their own plans, NPCs remember your actions, enemies adapt, settlements can change, and neglected situations may grow better or worse. Player choices can permanently reshape the campaign world. Let me know if you are interested!

Mass Effect sandbox campaign using Genesys

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Hey all! I'm in the early stages of building a Mass Effect campaign using the Genesys RPG system, and I want to see if there's enough interest before I go all in. The setting: The 2170s, about a decade before the first game. Nobody knows about the looming danger that the Reapers will bring yet, so you'll be navigating a galaxy set in its ways and slow to change. The style: Sandbox style. I'm building a detailed galaxy full of factions and characters (some known, some custom) with their own goals, then letting you loose in it. Your crew gets a ship, and where you go from there is up to you. Why Genesys/About Me: Genesys's dice system gives you more than just a pass or fail, so every roll can help write the story. That fits how I like to run games, since I treat the whole thing as a cooperative storytelling adventure. I've never run Genesys before, but I have experience running 5e and a few 2d20 systems as a GM. I'm completely newbie friendly and don't mind explaining mechanics and learning on the fly. I like weaving character backgrounds into the story whenever possible, and I'm happy to help players build hooks into their backgrounds if they want a hand. Characters: Using Genesys makes choosing a character fairly straightforward. We can match ME species and classes to different Genesys archetypes and roles fairly easily. The main thing I am hoping for is thourough character concepts. I like the characters in games I run to have well defined motivations and fears. Note, a complete history of your character is not necessary. I just want every player to have a strong idea of how and why their character would react to any given situation by fleshing out their foundational personalities. It helps with roleplay and with player investment in the game. Regardless, you don't have to have your character in mind right this moment. I just want you to know what to expect at session 0. Starting points: I have a handful of example starts (Spectre candidates, mercenaries, freighter crews, relic hunters, corporate whistleblowers, and more), but I'm also open to the group building its own. What I'm looking for: 2 or 3 players who want a cooperative storytelling experience rather than a GM-versus-players game. I see my job as giving you a framework to tell a story in. I default to the rules, but if bending or breaking them creates a more memorable moment, I'll do it.

House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.

SO... Every year around Halloween, I like to run a horror oneshot. I've been learning about new horror RPG systems and I want to run one of these! I have several HORROR options I want to pitch to you. 1 CHILDISH THINGS —immersive horror Keywords: PCs are children: ages 4-9, monsters, small secluded town, high immersion, nightmare-like, run away the terrors of the night to find your missing parents and classmates in your small secluded town. What is seen the shadows is easily misunderstood in the mind of a child… Roleplay: HIGH Combat: LOW Technology: MODERN DAY (but before cell phones) Player buy-in: For this game, you will need to be able to act, react, and talk like little kids. You will need to have some form of family in your backstory that you care about - and want to find when they go missing. Because this is horror, you won’t be able to FIGHT the monsters; rather you’ll need to RUN. This game won’t work unless you can react to things as a small CHILD, i.e. with FEAR. We only play after dark, preferably with your lights out, with headphones, and clutching your childhood blanket or stuffed animal. It should be an extremely immersive horror experience. **note: Before the first session, I ask you to list out your ACTUAL fears to me (clowns, spiders, being kidnapped, etc) so that I do not include them in the game. In addition, I ask all my players to read and sign a waiver, telling you (among other things) that if it’s getting too intense, you must TELL me right away so that everyone has a safe and enjoyable time. 2 MOBIUS —paranormal exploration Keywords: modern-day teenagers, trapped on an abandoned island, paranormal, time loops, strange and terrifying secrets hidden, investigation, time travel Roleplay: LOW (You don't need to be an actor/roleplayer to enjoy this game) Combat: MEDIUM Technology: MODERN DAY (but before cell phones) Player buy-in: You don’t need to be a good roleplayer to enjoy this mysterious game. There won’t be much combat, as anything truly dangerous you’ll probably have to run from. You WILL need to be curious, investigative. You’ll also need to be driven to escape and survive, because there won’t be an opportunity for you to create another character if you die; you’ll just have to take over one of the 3-4 NPC teenagers who came with you. In other words, be careful! **Helpful hint: The last time I ran this game, everyone signing up initially wanted to be “the quiet nerd type”…I would encourage you to go for something else if you think you can. :) 3 TEN CANDLES —tragic horror Keywords: modern-day teenagers, trapped on an abandoned island, paranormal, time loops, strange and terrifying secrets hidden, investigation, time travel Roleplay: MEDIUM Combat/Lethality: MEDIUM Technology: ANY (Our setting can potentially any era from real-world history) Player buy-in: 10 days ago, the sun went out. No one understands why or what happened. But then... that's when They started to appear. You can't kill Them. You can't understand Them. The only thing they fear... is light. But the electric grid (or village bonfire or whatever light source you have) has been mostly wiped out... and so has the rest of humanity. This is specifically a "tragic horror" narrative - there is no way to "win." This is a story of the last few people left alive, and their final struggles before ALL of them die at the very end. This is a powerful narrative-driven system where we really try to tell a compelling narrative together. This system is intended to be played in-person in a dark room with actual candles that are purposely extinguished as the game progresses... so I'm honestly not sure if this sort of style can be run online. Still... if there is sufficient interest, I'm down to see what can happen! WHAT SYSTEM WOULD WE USE? To be honest, I’m not entirely sure. I would prefer to assemble my players first. Then we can decide the system together. I’ve had great success in my decade of GMing running a heavily simplified system called The Bare Bones System, but I am open to running any of the following: - Dread - Ten Candles - Kids on Bikes - Everyone is John - The Bare Bones System Several of these systems imply that we might have a scenario not covered in my 3 ideas above. That is ok with me! :) YOU READ THIS FAR? Great! Can't wait to meet you! Leave an application below! :) THE APPLICATION (please copy/paste these questions into your reply) ****NOTE: I only come to Reddit once or twice a week, so DM me on Discord if you are interested! My Discord tag is moogamoogamooga Name: (screenname is fine) Approximate age: (specific or vague) How many years you've played TTRPGs, which systems, and how many (if any) years you've been a Gamemaster: Which past (or present) campaigns you've enjoyed the most, and why: What sounds appealing about a horror game to you? (BONUS: Have you ever been in a horror campaign before, as a player or a GM?): Tell me which campaign idea(s) sounds fun to you! What intrigues you about it? What do you imagine yourself doing?: Pitch your character(s). This can be as short or as long as you’d like: ****NOTE: I only check Reddit once a week, so DM me on Discord if you are interested! Im doing a best of 4e style Campaign. Currently level 8. Just looking fir a few players to make up for a few that left.  We are roleplayers not rollplayers, unfortunately the discord as great as the people there are, are mostly rollplayer combat people.  So recruiting from  there hasn't worked.  Working on owlbear rodeo, but its mostly digital maps/theature of the mind, im not that tech savy.  The game here will be set to needing 3, but its ongoing, almost  every other thursday 7pm est. Most of my players are part time and im trying to get a solid foundation.

ROTFRONT Survival-horror

Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Survival horror, sci-fi  campaign based on the indie game "SIGNALIS" , played with  modified cp-red meccanics. [This table usses a slightly Faster PbP format , especially when It comes to in game conversations] ________________________________ You will find yourselves on the frozen moon of Rotfront, where the Hayades multi-function maintenance station has ceased communication with the outside world and things are taking a strange turn... all while a mysterious state of emergency is declared. In this campaign, you can choose from a wide range of roles based on the survival horror game "SIGNALIS"—a sci-fi communist dystopia featuring retrowave technology. Your characters can be either a Replika (a biomechanical construct based on a mental pattern) or a Gestalt—an ordinary and "free" Eusan citizen. GAMEPLAY: -Roleplay -Combat and scarce resources: Although most CP mechanics will be heavily overshadowed by resource scarcity, the campaign's survival horror mechanics ensure there is never a dull moment. This campaign may contain: gore, sexual/psychological themes, and—above all—cosmic horror; madness is not a matter of "if," but of "how much." (18+) The campaign's homebrew content includes: -Races and models (Gestalt, Replika) -Changes to cyberware compatibility -Addition of a new weapon type (carbine) -Buffs to automatic fire and SMGs; changes to certain rates of fire -Various exotic weapons -Buffs to certain cyberware -Bioresonance mechanics Billing: of course you will never be asked to pay to play or to continue playng, but donations are wellcome and help me keep putting all the effort i put on the games i run. (A lot, too much probably)
